Time for me to face the facts and admit Pizza Ranch is collectively our family's favorite place to eat. When you have a five and two year old, what do you expect!? If we ask them where they want to eat, Pizza Ranch comes out on top 9/10 times! If my daughter were to write this review, she'd say her favorites are the Ranch sticks, chicken (drumsticks), corn, shredded cheese, mandarin oranges (and any other fruit), Sweet Swine pizza (she has a strong love of pineapple on pizza), any fruit pizza, pudding, and ice cream. Sounds about right for a five year old. But, this is my review! So, I'm sure to mention I love this place, because my kids love this place and I know they'll eat well! I know I'll eat well too, maybe too well! This specific Pizza Ranch is my personal favorite! Consistently a great experience here! Why... 1. Only one time have they not had milk available for the kids to drink. Tip, ask when you pay for milk if you want some! 2. The iceberg lettuce is shredded! This might be embarrassing to admit but, I craved this when I was pregnant with our daughter. Plus they have a second lettuce option. 3. Variety! They have three "bars" of food. Cold, hot, and pizza. All of them are stocked well and with a lot of variety. For example, three fruit options on the salad bar. 4. Clean for a buffet. Let's face it, buffet places aren't ever the "cleanest" places. But they do a good job here. 5. Staff is consistent and so nice! We tend to see the same people each time there. Employee retention says something without "saying" anything at all. So, if you are a Pizza Ranch loving family or individual, I highly recommend this specific location! read more

Indianola's Pizza Ranch is the Best! We used to go there all the time but then Covid. We have started back. We have family get togethers there and Birthday Parties. It big and opened enough for us & family. We always get the bar. Great food, Best for the money. If I have a question, the manager is right there to either answer or help with how much money for each card in the game room for the kids. Very kid friendly! Every time I visit Pizza Ranch in Indianola I am amazed at how fresh the food is and how fast the food is replaced! I absolutely love love love their chicken, mac & cheese, potato wedges, and the salad bar is to die for with everything that you can think of on an old fashion salad bar! This is a must stop if you're in the area! read more

Oh pizza ranch, I truly have a love/hate relationship with you. I love your pizza, your salad bar is awesome except when the poppyseed dressing isn't out, and your little chicken stand is a gold mine for my youngest kiddo except when the Mac and cheese well has run dry. This visit was exceptional however... I couldn't come up with any negatives for this visit. Your waitstaff is awesome and everything was clean and on point. read more

It's just about a 10 minute drive from Des Moines to Indianola Iowa. Buffet with Chicken takes me back to home cooking with mash potatoes gravy and corn taste so good. There is Pizza also I give it 7 out of 10 but Chicken I give it a 10 so average the buffet to a 8 and half. read more

We were very pleasantly surprised with our visit to the Indianola Pizza Ranch. We arrived around 2:30 on a Saturday afternoon and always know that we are taking a gamble at a low-volume time with a buffet. We expected stale pizza and not much selection, but we were surprised to not find that true! There were only 2 other customers there when we arrived, but the buffet was full & while some pizzas may have been out there for a bit, there was a great selection. The chicken buffet was also very full with lots of fresh options too. After we ate our first slices of pizza, I was happy to find 4 brand new pizzas had arrived on the buffet. We definitely haven't had that kind of luck at other Pizza Ranches, even during their busy times. Well done! read more

Pretty good food and sort of brings back memories of going to the Pizza Ranch in Centerville, Iowa when I was younger.

We visit pizza ranch every Tuesday because kids eat free. I would ask for pizzas up front (when they ask) because usually they won't have what you like, just always the basic pepperoni and cheese. Which I get. They have a wide selection of buffet items too. read more

As far as buffets go, Pizza Ranch is all right. I don't know I'd pay full price to dine there again, but they do offer a nice range of meal items and pizzas. One big drawback: not very many vegetarian options besides the salad bar (which was actually pretty good). The pizza itself is tasty, but nothing incredible. The desert pizzas were delicious and quite possibly addictive. It took much will power in me to not go back for more apple pie pizza. For Indianola, it's par for the course and a fine establishment. Don't love it, but I might go back sometime. read more

Over priced and old cold food on buffet. They need to be competitive with local pizza restaurants.

Very nice selection, and if your kind of pizza isn't on the buffet, they will make it for you. Food was very fresh and hot! We were a party of 9 and not once did we have dirty dishes sit on the table for more than a couple of seconds. Will definitely come back and definitely recommend! read more
