There were only 2 other tables when we were there . So very little noises for dinner. My wife had appetizer dinner of polentas and Caesar Salad. They also have pizza and burgers on the menu. Street parking is available. Couple of recommendations for the restaurant. My only suggestion for improvement is to get rid of the televisions. Trust the hard work that went into the decor which invites conversation and interaction. All throughout our fantastic dinner we commented that our attention was constantly being pulled visually to the televisions. Maybe a compromise is to keep the TVs for game nights but turn them off during dinner service. I trust you'll make the best decisions for what customers want.

I got the pizzas which were great and enjoyed by all. so thanks to the original spaghetti house , we will be back.

No reservations, and it was busy, but we were given a table right away. Wine came right away while we checked out the menu and we're given recommendations by the lovely women sitting at the next table, who apparently were there once a week. We started with the grilled calamari and garlic bread with cheese (any excuse for melted cheese). I've never had calamari like it. First of all it was the most incredibly tender calamari I've ever had. Melted in your mouth. Dish had a bit of spice with peas, corn, grilled red onion, and pancetta. Excellent. I'd go back just for that. Bread took awhile to get to us and it was forgettable. Way to garlic buttery, which means it was wet and the cheese wasn't browned enough. I'd pass next time. Split the warm mushroom salad. Loved it. A ton of fried mushrooms on spinach with a warm dressing. Not sure what those croutons were but I'd also pass on them. Then we both had a chicken pizza with pesto and roasted peppers. It was perfect. The right charring with large grilled pieces of chicken breast. Loved it. We were stuffed by the time we had 2 pieces, packed up the rest for home. No room for dessert but the selection was great. Especially the selection of gelato. Next time.

We've eaten there several times and it's been good every time. Never had an issue with their food quality. One time we did have a waitress who seemed preoccupied and forgot to bring our drink order, but that seemed to be an isolated incident. We really like their Chicken Parmesan which is smothered in cheese...we thought it was a pizza the first time we ordered it. LOL Their patio is nice with a good view of the Trent river and boating traffic. They offer a take-out menu as well and we've picked it up several times and it's just as good as dine-in. We'll definitely be back many more times.

Unfortunately, the food didn't match the setting as it was just subpar. Maybe it's too much to expect Toronto quality Italian food in Trenton, but everything from the tomato sauce in the lasagna (way too acidic), ho hum aglio olio for the California fettucine and lack of simple garden salad (what kind of Italian place only serves Caesar salad or Greek salad?) just didn't do it for me. My fettucine was undercooked (not even close to being al dente), the chicken breast was dry and the overall seasoning was weak. Even with the addition of giant slivers of Parmaggiano didn't do much to elevate the dish. I would have sent the dish back if we weren't in a rush to finish our meal and get back on the road. The Margherita pizza was the best part of this dinner sadly. I'm not sure if we'll be back in Trenton again any time soon, but I will be looking for other options than Tomasso's.
