The food was excellent, and the service was just as good; attentive without being over the top. I hadn't been in a few years, and this visit definitely reminded me why I liked it in the first place. Looking forward to going back soon.

I recommend reservations, especially on weekends. They are open late. The servers were very pleasant and checked on us often. We had a couple of non alcoholic drinks, then the Charity bread followed by their Chicken Parmesan. My friend substituted the regular noodle (like a lasagna noodle) with gnocchi for an up charge. The charity bread was actually cold which was a surprise. I thought it would be warm with fresh mozzarella on it. It was ok but less so than if the bread had been warm. I was really looking forward to the chicken Parmesan, as it had been described as noodles tossed with Alfredo sauce, on a bed of red sauce. But mine were incredibly dry - felt like they had hardly tossed it with any kind of sauce, and I'm not sure that there was any red sauce, even on the bottom of the plate -- that was very disappointing. The chicken itself was OK nothing to write home about. It was an OK place but no more than OK and I wouldn't go back there in a hurry. I have been to other Scaddabush restos before at other locations and my experience there was better. I will say that the thing that I like the most about it was the service. The servers were all really good. But the food was meh - just so so. I would've probably given a 2.5 if I could give a half point. it's part of a complex where there's a lot of different restaurants. So tons of parking, which is very good.

My Uncle Dan is straight out of a movie. The most Italian man you could ever think of. Straight out…read moreof the Goodfellas, thick accent, wife beater, gold chains, etc. He has more money from his construction business than he knows what to do with. He's in his twilight years of working so these days he mostly spends his time making his own red wine from scratch, hunting turkeys, and growing vegetables in his garden. He clears the vibe check. I'm yapping now, but all this to say he picked Il Gatto E La Volpe for dinner so I knew this food was gonna SMACK. We started with margherita pizzas for the table, arrancini, calamari, and a couple bottles of red wine picked by Uncle Dan. My Mom got the gnocchi bolognese, which I knew I would get 80% of as she eats like a mouse, so I went with the Florentine steak. I hate to be corny and say "everything was sensational," but everything was sensational so Imma leave it at that. My favorites were the gnocchi bolognese and arrancini though, as I had never seen gnocchi bolognese on a menu. It honestly should be a more common dish. I'm making a prediction that by 2029, gnocchi bolognese will be a standard item on all Italian menus. Service was great, vibes were up, and this was just a great place to enjoy some much needed family time over some red wine. These haters got me stressed. SHOUTOUT TO UNCLE DAN! Food (3.75/5) - they have a good selection of items on the menu and a couple of specials of the day as well. - Vitello ai Funghi - veal cutlets in a seared assorted mushroom and white wine sauce. It was just ok imo... the veal was a bit chewy and not tender as I was expecting. Sauce is ok bit understated. - Tortellini alla Bolognese - veal filled tortellini in a homemade Bolognese sauce. This was a nice dish with a nice flavourful Bolognese and tortellini cooked properly. - Cozze Marinara - mussels in a marinara sauce with garlic, onion and herbs. Cooked properly and a pretty good broth to dip bread into. - Complimentary bruschetta with a sauteed pepper/onion garnish was provided - not great imo... too dry and lacked flavour. Service (4.5/5) - pretty strong and service-oriented. Seated quickly and well attended multiple times by server and assistant. Atmosphere (4.25/5) - it is quite small with maybe 10 tables total. White tablecloth and wood look... quiet place designed for dates and families. Overall (4/5) - It is a solid Italian restaurant overall. I can see it being popular with locals looking for a quiet dinner spot. I was hoping the food would be more extraordinary however could be the selection of items we had.

Both positive signs in my book. We started with the fried calamari. It was really crispy and hot. Came out quick too. We ordered a few pastas. The pasta with meat balls was our favourite. The mushroom ravioli was good but started tasting a bit sweet after eating half of it. We also had the sausage pasta and enjoyed that too. Seats about 40 to 50 people so make a reservation on the weekend. Warm tasty pasta with bold comforting flavours, perfect for when you have an Italian food craving. Service is great too. They helped us read the Italian menu. Kept refilling our water and brought out some bread to start the meal. Nice clean washroom too.
