The bartenders and servers know all the locals which is evident every time me and my coworkers stop in here for happy hours or for dinner. They still give us the attention we need for drink refills and food orders. For drinks, it's mainly beer although they have hard liquor available here. I always stick with Miller Lite since it's cheap and they bring it out quick. As for food, it's mainly burgers and bar eats. The appetizers such as the wings, chips n queso, fried jalapenos, and pretzel bites w/ beer cheese are our favorites. Meanwhile, they do good burgers here which are a favorite amongst the team. Each day will have food specials such as half priced appetizers and $1 wings. Check the menu out for the full details. It's a great place to watch sports and grab drinks/eats or catch live music if it's available. This is part of our rotation whenever we're in Lufkin.

Obviously this is untrue, as we have the receipt showing our order time of 12:00 on it. Already losing our appetite, had to wait an extra 5 minutes to finally get our food at 12:31. I watched the cook, mop the floor at 10:45pm on 08/25/20026. He had detergent on him and on the floor. Most of all he had chemicals on his apron. We ordered 30 wing combo and he put the mop, to the side and went into their fridge. He took out a bin of chicken and grabbed that chicken with his bare hands, and place it in a fryer for our consumption. I told the young hispanic night manager and she went to him and said, "he saw you"! He said to her, "I don't care"! She came back to me saying--he said he didn't do that. I replied, he's lying. Don't you have cameras everywhere? I told her to just give me back my money but our guest wanted some wings, and asked the manager. Why are you arguing with us instead of just dropping some fresh wings. The night manager conceded that, that was a good idea. She told him to drop some more chicken and he did the same damn thing again. Remember, he had chemicals on his hands and clothes. Well at that point our guest saw him as well and demanded our money back. She told us it would take 3 days for us to get a refund and with that we walked out. To see someone contaminate food intentionally is unforgivable and it's my opinion that they should be charged with a crime. Just like a builder that builds a brick home with no concrete or cement. This was not his first time nor will it be his last. That's why this store has such a low rating. They're taking chances with your life and health! Beware!

So the mission is clear: get to my parents' house and help my mom. That's it. Survival mode, but make it family-focused. Then--plot twist--my sister and nephew call. They want to see us and casually mention they'll bring pizza. Now listen... in any other circumstance, I might pause. Ask questions. Do research. Vet the pizza situation like a responsible adult. But in this moment? Free food is free food, and emotionally exhausted people do not ask follow-up questions. So we say yes. And yet, there's hesitation. Because we are in this town. This mysterious, slightly cinematic, possibly haunted-feeling Texas town. And I don't know what a "local pizza place" means here. Are we talking hidden gem? Or regret wrapped in melted cheese? They arrive. Boxes in hand. No turning back now. We open them... and immediately--plot twist #2. It's actually really good. Like, not "oh this will do" good. Not "we're hungry so we'll pretend it's fine" good. No--this is legitimately solid pizza. Fresh, hot, clearly made with real ingredients and actual effort. Cheese, a fully-loaded "works" situation, and one mystery pizza that I didn't fully identify but enthusiastically ate anyway. And I didn't just have a polite slice. I went back. Multiple times. For all of them. They tell us it's a local chain and one of the best in the area, and honestly? I believe them. Whatever low expectations I walked in with were completely unnecessary. End result: pleasantly surprised, slightly humbled, and very well-fed. Would absolutely eat it again--especially under less emotionally chaotic circumstances, but honestly... it held up even under those. That's saying something.
