If I could give half of a star I would my pizza came with the wrong crust, wrong cut and was 20 some odd minutes late.

Better pizza hut I've only found just off base at Ft. Hood. Only pizza hut I'll eat at. It just REALLY needs delivery.

TLDR: Good pizza at reasonable prices but the wait time is unreasonably long…read more Pretty solid pizza here. Fully customizable. I built my own white pizza with garlic butter herb sauce, fresh mozz, mushrooms, and Italian sausage. It was pretty tasty. I was STARVING so maybe that amplified the flavor. This brings me to my next point... Pizza takes FOREVER. I clocked it and it was a full hour from the moment we ordered. This was particularly unpleasant because I was waiting in the car with my two bored and hungry toddlers. If you have kids, you get it. Not ideal. By the way, we tried to call ahead and no one picked up the phone (we tried a couple times). I should also add that the prices are very reasonable here. The kids menu pizzas are very cheap and more than enough food to fill them up.

Who knew Bastrop, Texas, would have some of the best pizza and pasta I've had in a long time?…read more I'm in town for a six-week work assignment and decided to try Bastiano's for takeout. All I can say is wow. I ordered the creamy garlic pasta with chicken, spinach, bacon, and onions, along with a supreme pizza, and both were outstanding. The pasta was rich, creamy, and packed with flavor without being overly heavy. The chicken was tender, the bacon added the perfect savory bite, and the spinach and onions balanced everything beautifully. Then there was the pizza. This wasn't one of those pizzas where you have to hunt for toppings. Every slice was loaded with pepperoni, ham, sausage, olives, mushrooms, and vegetables. The crust had a great texture, the cheese was perfectly melted, and every bite was packed with flavor. One of the best parts is the value. The portions were generous enough that this takeout order will easily feed me for several days, which makes the quality even more impressive. As someone who wasn't expecting to discover amazing Italian food in Bastrop, Bastiano's was a pleasant surprise. If you're local or just passing through town, do yourself a favor and give them a try. I'll definitely be ordering again before my assignment is over.

This also means they expect to be tipped before you get your meal. Our table service was pretty lackluster. There's country music playing overhead and a couple of flat screens to stare at, but not much else. I heard they sold wine here, but their selection is terrible. There's a few commercial choices of beer and a seltzer, but not much else which is why we settled on a cup of water. We got the Caesar salad (which looked really good), the lasagna and a pepperoni/mushroom calzone. Both our meals came out several minutes apart, and my calzone was a real disappointment. The marinara came out in a small plastic cup, and it was literally ice cold!! After I cut through the calzone I noticed they had completely forgotten the mushrooms even though I paid for them. To make matters worse, it's served on a sheet of paper so you wind up cutting it up with your calzone and eating some of it. The less than 1" high lasagna looked fairly unappetizing with 2 cold stale bread sticks. According to other yelpers they may make a good pizza, but our meals were so disappointing that we won't be back. So the lesson here is to skip the dine in and get the pizza to go. (FYI, I live in San Antonio and am very tempted to take a road trip for my next yummy slice.) Then there dessert...well, located within a rocks throw of Brenham, you know what to expect, and it ain't just yummy cookies and cake. Yes, ladies and gentlemen (drumroll) you guessed it...BLUE BELL ICE CREAM!! Spoiler alert they failed to have my favorite daiquiri ice but you're not going to lose me over that. (Hint: just saying for future options. I'll be on the lookout next time I'm rolling down 290 East.) All good and well, the girls behind the counter were attentive and nice. And the restaurant rang of a good place to go after a go hometown Buffalo's Friday night football game. (This is Texas you know.) Thanks Reba (if there is a flesh and blood Reba out there) for expanding to your latest downtown location. LOVE IT!

Found a really cute spot tucked away in Round Top…read more You walk in through this green courtyard with fire pits and chairs and it kind of forces you to slow down for a second before going inside which I actually loved. Just felt calm right away. Inside is super open with really tall ceilings. There's a small bar upstairs they call a speakeasy... it's not really hidden since you can see it from downstairs, but it's still a nice little vibe. Drinks were really good too. They stay pretty busy, but service didn't miss a beat. Food came out looking good and actually tasted just as good. Always a win. Only thing is when it gets packed, it does get pretty loud, especially upstairs at the bar. So just something to keep in mind depending on the vibe you're going for. And honestly, the fire pits outside were probably my favorite part. Perfect spot to sit and hang out for a bit. If you're in Round Top, it's definitely worth checking out.

What a beautiful and charming restaurant in Round Top!…read more First, they have plenty of parking on the side and the back, love that! When you walk in you find yourself in a combination of farm style restaurant with stunning decor and a cute boutique and general store vibe section. We got seated immediately and ordered our drinks and food. We started with an order of pines frites and bacon wrapped dates with cheese My drink was the lychee martini and it was so delicious and fresh, a little on the sweet side but for me it was perfect. My food was the palazzo pasta and added wild caught salmon, I like it. It had too much pepper for my taste but still ok. My friends ordered the chicken salad, wedge salad and salmon, scholtskys sandwich and salad with shrimp. They have a bar upstairs and a beautiful selection of wine, this is such a charming place to visit when in Round top.
