Pretty bad when the kids don't even want to eat it. The dough was mushy. I prefer frozen pizza over this

You will…read morefind a decent-sized private parking lot here and a walk-up pick-up window for people who placed to-go orders online. There is also free street parking available. There is a decent-sized dining area and a very nice outdoor patio as well. It was a nice day during my visit, so I sat on the patio. The staff there was very friendly. Their menu has traditional pizzas such as sausage, pepperoni, and meatzilla. They also have some unique Asian inspired creations like Tai Chicken, Mac and Cheese, General Tso's Chicken, Iowan, Crab Ragoon, and Korean Beef Chicken pizzas. They also have soups and salads, and Chinese food entrees like Beef and Broccoli, Stir-Fry Chicken, Sesame Chicken, Orange Chicken, and Chili Garlic Shrimp. And yes, they have some of the best tiki drinks and mocktails around. I ordered a Painkiller and a Waving Cat to go with my Bang Bang Chicken Pizza. It took them about 12 minutes to prepare my pie. It was fresh and hot. It was also so good. I have never had a pizza like that before. It was very flavorful and tasty. It was so good, I even forgot to take a picture of it because I just jumped right in. My drinks came out much sooner, and they were also really, really good. The staff there was very friendly and attentive. My service was first class. I am so glad I found this spot and got to experience it. I highly recommend this place, and I definitely will be back very soon.

Post Junior Olympics pizza party!…read more Ate nothing but Italian food all week so why not finish it off with more carbs lol! Tried the crab Rangoon, sweet and sassy, the Iowan, Sausage pizza, pepperoni, bread sticks and the egg rolls... 1. Sweet and Sassy! That goat cheese is money! 2. Sausage. Yum! 3. Ol' Reliable Pepperoni. Nuff said. 4. Crab Rangoon. First slice was good. Second slice novelty wore off. Tasty but just wouldn't eat an entire pie of this. I think it's the wontons that over stay the welcome. Dubbed best ever by food network... yeah I can see that but... not my fav. The apps were fine. Water didn't taste as weird here. Prices were reasonable. They accommodated a large group of 20. We walked here from the science center took a fast 15 mins to do so. Nice little town love the vibe. The bridge is scenic! Solid thumbs up!

To start out... I'm not a local, I come to Ames once a month for work and love to try new bars and…read morerestaurants.. Figured I'd give this place a try! The feel and ambiance... mixed with a touch of nostalgic. Upon entering you are greeted with tables and chairs inches from the door. We thought that we entered from the side door. There was no host stand or sign stating that you should order in the back at the kitchen. We were confused. During our meal the radio was playing, and not nice music but a crude talk show that happened to be talking about someone getting a Brazilian wax... You'd think the place could pay for Spotify or music without ads... The booths were a tad old and crusty - But I suppose that's where the nostalgia comes in. The food... much to be desired. It was all cheap just okay. Everything lacked flavor. Nothing to write home about. The salads were massive and a great bargain. The cheese bread was disappointing, it was just melted cheese on a sub bun with store bought sauce. For a location called sauce and dough company. This was expected to be a highlight, but ended up being something that could easily be made at home. The pizza was decent, but confusing at best. For someone's first time, I'd expect there to be signs or mentions that the honey should go on the crust... I only found that out after once I read reviews. The crust was dry and lacked flavor without the honey or other seasoning... Am I the only one that thinks that you should not need honey to make pizza palatable. Also, if you add honey you add 70 cals each tablespoon. I know I didn't come to eat healthy but also... Everyone is right, so many toppings and cheese. But again, lacks flavor. The prices... very reasonable. We got two large salads, two beers, an app and a large pizza for $50. Very reasonable. Overall, I won't be back but am glad I at least tried an Ames staple.
