We were confused but since we wanted to dine in, we waited for someone to come out. After we listened to a full conversation about how to seat people; a girl walked out, made eye contact & went back to the kitchen like she'd never seen humans. We were about to walk out when she came back & asked if we needed to be seated. I asked for a booth, which should not have been an issue in the empty dining area, but she took us to a table. She asked if that was ok so I said no & walked to the booth I wanted. The male waiter that came out started off ok & stayed on top of things nicely, to the point of almost making up for the other two. The food was decent & came to the table as soon as each individual item finished cooking. His service skills were decent. His talking & customer service skills in general were atrocious! He barely spoke & when he did it was almost inaudible. But he didn't hover or annoy us, & that goes a long way with us. As we were walking out our waiter was exiting the kitchen. Rather than checking the table first, he leaned on the counter we were immediately shown upon arrival as if he were on a break & very loudly accused us of trying to dine & dash. Had the dip shit checked the table first, he would have seen the cash that covered the bill & his tip entirely. I know cash confuses the young so we had planned to let it go & let him feel like a jerk silently & hopefully remember this. That didn't sit well with us... we went back inside & got the tip back in full! I'm not rewarding some small town pain in the ass for accusing me or my family of theft. We wanted to enjoy a nostalgic place with two of our kids on a short road trip & were treated like shit by some kids who have no work ethic. Do better Mt. Home!

Exciting things are happening in Mountain Home!…read more In 2016, Chef Christian Phernetton, formerly of Camel's Crossing and State & Lemp in Boise, started The Chef's Farm, "an 11-acre biodynamic and electromagnetic culture research farm in Hammett, Idaho." In October 2023, Chef Phernetton opened FARMERS STASHE, a Farm-to-Table business located at 354 N. 2nd E. St in downtown Mountain Home. FARMERS STASHE features the bounty of The Chefs Farm via products such as soups, pizzas, waffles, kombucha, hummus, ramen, salads, baked goods, fermented foods, etc. The photos show what was available the day I visited. My plan was to stop and grab a quick bowl of soup for lunch. I was so in awe of what I found, that I ended up buying much of what was available. Here is what I tried: Chicken Noodle Soup - I enjoyed the soup. it had a nicely flavored broth and was chock-full of chicken, vegetables, and noodles. Mushroom Pizza - The pizza was unlike any pizza I've ever had before. It featured two different types of mushrooms, one of which was fermented. I was told the dough takes at least 72 hours to make. It was accompanied by two different types of peppers and oregano, all of which are grown on the farm. Plum Crazy Kombucha - This is one of the three best kombucha I've ever had. I regret not buying more. It was made with plums grown on the farm. Carrot Cake + Chocolate Beet Cupcakes - What is a girl to do when she can't decide between the Carrot Cake and Chocolate Beet cupcake? Get both! Of the two, I preferred the Carrot Cake. Both appeared to be made with a whole grain flour, which results in a coarser texture. I prefer baked goods made with All-Purpose Flour or Cake Flour. Rustic Pita + Roasted Garlic Hummus - The pita was fresh baked, and excellent! The hummus was nice and creamy, but had a slightly bitter flavor, which can happen if you don't remove the garlic germ. In January 2024, Chef Phernetton has /epk/ Farm-to-Table monthly dinners scheduled "3 days before and 3 days after the full-moon." Currently, the dinners are at FARMERS STASHE, but when the weather gets warmer, the plan is to have them at the farm. In March 2024, Chef Phernetton launched Agrarian Culinary Institute (AGI), "the first (and only) Farm-to-Table culinary school in Idaho. Chef Phernetton's visionary business model exemplifies why I love small towns. The next time you're on I 84, instead of passing by Mountain Home, be sure to get off the exit to check out FARMERS STASHE. You'll be glad you did!

We grow much of our own produce and work closely with regional farms and ranches to bring in grass-fed meats, seasonal vegetables, and high-quality ingredients you can taste in every bite. Our menu blends familiar favorites with chef-driven touches. Expect sandwiches on house-baked bread, fresh salads, hearty soups, frico flatbreads that might remind you of a Detroit-style pizza, house-made desserts, fermented items, and more. The menu evolves with the seasons, letting ingredients lead and creativity follow. What truly sets Farmers Stashe apart is our connection to the land and the rhythms of farming. Throughout the year, we host full-moon harvest dinners — intimate, communal meals that celebrate the season, the farm, and the people who make it all possible. These special evenings feature thoughtfully curated menus, shared tables, and a deeper look into where your food comes from. Today I decided to order ahead, but I accidentally scheduled my pickup an hour later than I intended because my laptop was set to a different time zone. I called the restaurant, explained what happened, and they were incredibly kind and accommodating. Even though the restaurant was absolutely packed when I arrived, they were able to get my order ready much earlier than originally scheduled. I really appreciated them going out of their way to help me. The food was fantastic! The Honey Badger pizza was delicious, the Everynight salad was even better. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and worth every bite. Between the outstanding customer service and the excellent food, this place definitely earned five stars. If I'm ever back in the area, I'll absolutely be coming here again!

(honestly, you should just stop and go there now) If you're still reading and want more information - fine, here you go... As soon as I saw sour dough crust, I knew that this was the place we'd go for our first meal in town. We went for a late lunch but the place was still busy. Tip, don't let a line at the door stress you out, it really didn't take long to get seated and the waiting area is tiny so it probably looks worse than it is. It's welcoming and a bit upscale for what I expected. They have a good looking cocktail menu (I did not partake that day), and their pizza menu included something fun-sounding called Honey Badger Pizza. (Why did I just share that with you? I don't know, we didn't order it - I just love the name) Our waitress was McKenna, she was nice and super helpful. We were a simple table that day, a Pepperoni pizza with parmesian, the hubs got a soda and I stuck with water. When I waved off a drink and said something like "I probably shouldn't order what I really want because I haven't eaten yet today", McKenna replied "I'm not here to judge, I'm here for the tips." What a HOOT! I fell in love with her that very moment and promised myself if we go back again we'd ask for her (we didn't make it back during this visit). The pizza was absolutely everything I was hoping for. SOOOOO good. From the first bite at the pointy-end all the way to the crust. If this is what they serve in heaven, I think I'll be fine. We took a couple of pieces back to the room with us and it reheated in the microwave just fine. Clean restroom, well lit restaurant. Everything was fantastic. We prefer to walk when we're in the city. The Wylder is in an adorable area of Boise, which is plenty walkable and I felt completely comfortable doing so. Are you still reading? I'm not sure what else to tell you - if you like pizza, just put down the phone and go! Thank you for reading my review.

Be sure to read the signs outside otherwise they won't seat you if you go through the takeout door. I saw it happen to a party of 4 who stood awkwardly in the takeout corner for about 20 minutes during peak rush. Other than that, there's plenty of table and bar seating available. We waited less than 5-10 minutes for a table of 2. The service was excellent! We were originally seated by the door, so we were getting blasted by the summer heat every time it opened. Once a table opened up away from it, our server offered to move us (and we did lol). We ordered two small pizzas, the Comet and the Idahoan. Both were delicious! We ended ordering their current special to-go, which was a BLT-style pizza. One small pizza is enough for two people but if you want to bring home leftovers, I recommend ordering two smalls! Btw, a large pizza is enough to feed four people from what we saw. Would definitely come back! Highly recommend if you're in the area or just love pizza.

Another 10 before they came back with drinks and took our order. The appetizer was a puffed up bread which was fun to eat. They brought olive oil and what tasted like vinegar to eat it with. We ate that and it was another 20 minutes before they came to the table and told us they prioritized the take out orders over ours, "But your pizzas are now in the oven." The table behind us who also ordered an appetizer and 2 pizzas, were served 10 minutes before we were served. Always willing to overlook some hiccups in service if the food is good... unfortunately the food was terrible. We ordered a Don Ho and the sauce was so bland it was gross. The center of the pizza was so soft we thought, at first, it was under cooked. After looking at the bottom of the pie we could see it was cooked but we also noticed that the sauce was so watery it pooled in the center and made everything soft and gross. The margarita pizza was so overcooked the cheese was melted into the pizza and the basil leaves were wilted and yet crispy at the same time. Below is a picture of what it SHOULD have looked like, and a picture of what we got. It was so bad we actually sent it back and they said, "Well that's how we always make it." We had high hopes but after this all around lacking experience, we won't be back.
