Came here for a friends birthday - after some outdoor laser quest adventure nearby :) There was about 15 of us I think.
I went for the unlimited soft drink (Pepsi, Tango, 7Up, Robinsons) and for main I shared a pizza. The sharing pizza is larger than standard and you get to pick 2 different toppings. We went for the philly cheese steak and chicken supreme toppings.
With a sharing pizza, you get 1 bowl (visit) to the salad bar - although I did kind of go 2 times (more like 1 and a half). Although the person I shared pizza with didn't get any salad so it balanced out! The pizza was not too bad. The steak in the philly cheese part with some of that really thin stuff - certainly wouldn't call it steak! The chicken supreme part was as expected - chicken maybe a bit dry.
The unlimited drinks was all touch screen and as well as the standard Pepsi, Tango etc, they had different variations with added flavours. I went for Pepsi with hint of lime. It was a very tiny hint of lime though as hardly tasted it - if at all.
The salad bar was your usual selection as you expect, although they could have done with topping up the breadsticks as none were left.
So overall the food was "OK".
Since it was a birthday, we had a birthday cake which someone had bought. When we were finished with meal, the lights dimmed a bit and then they came out with the cake with some candles on it. Although it wasn't like a Chinese restaurant where they have some music playing over in the restaurant speakers - probably a good thing! There was a bit of a wait/delay in actually getting plates and spoons for the cake and someone from our group actually had to go and basically get them herself. We also ended up cutting the cake with a normal table knife.
Also, when paying the bill, it was overly complicated. People were paying for what they had but instead of everyone just paying individually and the money coming off the bill like a running total, they asked everyone what they had and then for every 2 people, they got a separate receipt?? So there was about 8 separate receipts and people just paying that. And as is often the case when paying by card, there was confusing involving the tip.
I know its not the biggest problem I know but its the little things.
So overall, its how a 2/5 is described as "Meh". Food as you expect - OK - but this time let down by the service a bit - a bit slow, the group bill paying process. read more
