Today we decided to get our of town and took a 45 minute drive to London, KY…read more Obviously wanting to eat somewhere different while we were there, we decided on Gondolier and I sure am happy that we did! Our waiter was Parker and he was absolutely awesome and very attentive. When we were seated, Parker brought us 2 complimentary piping hot breadsticks with marinara sauce. We were pleased to hear that these were all-you-can-eat because they were very good! They have quite a few lunchtime specials and from 2:00-4:00 (weekdays) all sandwiches are half off. My wife ordered the lasagna and I ordered the House Calzone. The lasagna was a HUGE serving and very tasty. My House Calzone had ham, ground beef, pepperoni, sautéed mushrooms & onions, mozzarella & ricotta cheese. Oh my! How do I describe this deliciousness! Let's just say that after the first bite, I closed my eyes and enjoyed the flavors! The crust is light and fluffy and it had plenty of ingredients. It was big enough for 2 people to share, but (except for the bite that I gave my wife) I devoured the whole thing! Gondolier is what I would call a small chain restaurant. There are a few scattered around (even one in Sevierville, TN) but they are still small enough to always use top quality ingredients and keep their prices very affordable. There use to be one closer to me in Berea, KY, but unfortunately it closed. You may think this crazy to read, but Gondolier has one of the best cheeseburgers that I have ever had! Without a doubt, we will make the 45 minute drive one-way just to go eat at Gobdolier again and again. Located just off exit 41, its an easy stop off of the interstate if you are traveling through the area. These guys are doing it right! Don't miss it and be sure to ask for Parker to be your waiter.

We were looking for a non chain restaurant to eat and drove past this place and decided to give it…read morea try. I didn't take any pictures because nothing really wowed me as far as presentation. When we were seated my first impression wasn't great, our server wasn't very knowledgeable about the menu nor very attentive or friendly. They brought us bread sticks and some red marinara sauce that wasn't very flavorful and the bread sticks kinda tasted like store bought and baked. Then we ordered and my BF ordered a sampler plate and a small pizza. I ordered a Chicken Scarpariello, it comes with red sauce but I didn't care for that sauce so I ordered it with the Alfredo sauce instead. Food arrived hot and quickly. I would say it was ok not fantastic but ok. My bf liked the chicken parm but I thought it tasted like a premade chicken patty with the marinara and cheese on top. The lasagna was ok but like I said I wasn't a huge fan of the marinara sauce. The pizza was pretty good though. I just had a bite since I was pretty full. We ordered dessert the white chocolate raspberry cake, and a piece of baklava. The cake was DELICIOUS beat part of my meal! I didn't eat it until later at the hotel but I definitely should have got 2 for tomorrow also! They don't make the desserts there they order them from a bakery but good just the same! The decor is very outdated but it seemed clean. Servers could have a little bit more classy uniform but I really would settle for just a more cheerful waiter than we had! Don't think I would go back but wasn't terrible.

We've been loyal regular customers for more than five years, but we've seen a steady decline in service and food quality. When my husband calmly raised concerns with the manager about dismissive service, he was dismissed and the behavior was supported rather than corrected. Several teenage employees then acted in a coordinated, mocking manner, chanting "you're getting kicked out" and "we don't want your money." My husband is hard of hearing and a disabled U.S. Marine Corps combat veteran. When I tried to explain this, the manager said, "People with disabilities like your husband need to stay home," and told us they did not want our business. Given previous food issues, this confirmed a serious decline in standards. The one bright spot afterward was discovering The Gondolier--an Old World, NYC-style Italian restaurant with authentic food, warm hospitality, veteran discounts, and a military family-run business that treats customers with dignity.

The service was fast and friendly and let's be honest, the breadsticks are the star of the show. They were hot, fresh and bountiful. They've spiced up the Alfredo sauce and it's definitely not bland. Overall a great and fast experience if you're passing through.

This is one of the worst food service locations I have ever worked at period…read more Fights in the back of house take place almost weekly and the managers are too cowardly and incompetent to fire problem employees. Recently one underage female associate was punched in the face leaving a bruise. The managers do not report these frequent occurrences because it reflects poorly on their already basically non-existent leadership skills. It's a restaurant in the front and a fight club in the back and management does not care as long as the food slowly trickles out to customers at the cost of a safe professional work environment. No manager should be allowed to hold that position if they cannot manage the issue in the store and refuse to report such occurrences to corporate headquarters. They instead are totally complacent with the dangerous and hostile work environment they've created and allow to continue. This store in particular needs more oversight from corporate and management needs to be re-evaluated from the top down.

This WAS a favorite but, for some reason has really declined during our last two visits. Tonight…read morethere were four (4) of us -- upon arrival, they had no record of our reservation which was done (AND CONFIRMED) last week via FB Messenger. Nonetheless, they were able to accommodate us with only a brief wait -- overall, not a big deal. Service was average at best. Server was polite but did not write down our orders which meant coming back to confirm -- both drinks and food several times. We always enjoyed the pizza here so when we inquired about the pizza menu, none was provided but the server "rattled off" three pizza options. Not a good impression since, once we got a menu from the manager, there were plenty of choices. Took, what seemed like, forever to get drinks -- still not sure if there was actually a bartender or if the servers were handling the drinks. MUSIC IS INSANELY LOUD!!! TERRIBLE! Food was mediocre -- it used to be off the charts fantastic. Shrimp and Grits (two orders) were floating in grease from the onions and peppers -- it was awful. Pasta Alfredo, with shrimp and chicken was very good! Salmon with risotto was just okay. Long story short -- this place used to be fantastic, an absolute no brainer to visit regularly. But after three recent visits, we'll take a year or two off until they get their act together.

You're a restaurant in the business of hospitality, right? Perhaps share that with your employee named Ellie, who took it upon herself to nastily and aggressively berate my sister this evening. Let me paint a picture for you. Our party dined with you in observance of three family birthdays (my sister's being one of them) and brought a homemade cake to enjoy, just as we did last year when we reserved the vault room. Imagine our surprise when, upon receiving the checks, we were charged a $25 "cake cutting fee." I realize that's just semantics, like a "corkage fee," but maybe call it something else when the servers do no such thing. I digress. When questioned by my sister about the charge, Ellie told her in no uncertain terms that the cake cutting fee was clearly posted "on the door, the menu, and the website." Multiple members of our party thoroughly checked all three places and found it stated NOWHERE. The audacity! How rude and misinformed can one person be? Needless to say, an otherwise pleasant experience was instantly and wholly ruined by one person's lack of professionalism and tact. I've never had a bad experience at Copper & Oak, so I'm not sure what's gone wrong at La Cosa Nostra, but none of my meals there have come close by comparison. And you can be assured I'll never spend my hard earned money there again; in fact, I'll be hesitant to support Copper & Oak by mere association. And I'll be quick to caution others regarding both establishments. I'll be curious to see if this email is ignored (my prediction) or handled in a timely, professional manner. And even more curious to see - if acknowledged - how you intend to remedy the situation. Oh, and you might consider updating the website, as you highlight both spaghetti and meatballs and saltimbocca, but serve neither."
