I went last night for the early bird menu - £9.95 for 2 courses, 12.95 for 3 courses (up to 7pm)…read more The selection on the early bird menu was excellent, and all 3 courses were delicious. The staff were friendly and attentive, and my friends and I had a lovely evening. Its always busy, so I'm glad we booked, and I would definately go back again.

A strange experience in a restaurant that I have always wanted to go to. I am coming back here in…read moretwo weeks but I thought best to write down this experience. 2nd January and we've been cooking for 20 people after staying away and celebrating NYE with friends. We came back to a cold, wet Manchester and decided to go to Linguine and try and get a table. I walk past this restaurant many times a week and there are always people in it and often very busy. We got there after 6.30pm and was told by the Manager that our table was required by 8pm, after looking at his tablet again, we had to be out by 7.30pm. Not sure how many covers there are but there were only four other tables taken. We sit down, tucked by the bar area and look at the menu. I asked a waiter which wine goes well with seafood and was given an idiots guide to the wine menu. His was Italian and his English wasn't good so I opted for a house white. Our food was served by another waiter as I wasn't sure whether the earlier gentleman was just a barman. We didn't have to wait long for our seafood pasta and pizza. The food came and it tasted very good. Unfortunately, I did not take photos as our service wasn't as friendly as I would have liked. The manager served our food. We ate our tasty food and kept looking around and seeing not many other customers arrive and wondering why he would lie about all the tables being occupied. We were dressed smart/casual for a Saturday night. Sadly, we didn't have any starters or desserts as we were very time conscious which also ruined our experience of the food. We asked for the bill, paid less than 10% tip and went over the road to the local Co-op to buy dessert and walked home feeling disappointed that we felt rushed and would have preferred to have dined in a different restaurant or got takeaway. As mentioned earlier, I am hoping for a better experience when I return in a couple of weeks time.

We got drink orders straight away and were presented with all new menus and a menu for what is going on there in the month of may whixh was very informative. My sister ordered lasagne and chips which she said was great and i had sea food skewers which were fresh although the tuna well done. The setting is lovely as os the service the food a hit too. The waiter was a bit strange and its not a cheap restaurant for a pizzeria hence dropping a star

Piccolino is a nice standard Italian restaurant, which although overpriced, has some reasonable set…read moremenus. Unfortunately we then detonated our bill by foolishly ordering wine by the glass after the first bottle, eventually ordering what was essentially a third bottle. I rather hoped the management might decide to charge us for three bottles but alas no. Error. Meanwhile, calamari and garlic prawn starters, while not earth shattering, were enjoyable. I wasn't crazy about my sea bass main but it was pretty good. I also liked the pizza we eventually got as it turned into dinnertime (yes, we were there a while). Piccolino has a good outdoor terrace which now has a cover presumably meaning it will be in use all year round and in all of Manchester's terrible weather. What really made the experience for me was the great wait staff who were consistently charming and attentive over very many hours and provided us with exacting the kind of relaxing convivial atmosphere two long separated gal pals needed to catch up!
