I love this location the pizza is always super fresh and the service is has been great each time. My last order was a large stuffed crusted Hawaiian. The cheese stuffed crust is delicious! I don't know what they do at pizza guys but the cheese they fill their crust with is super tasty! It's not fake tasting or just any regular mozzarella, it's addictive. I'm really disappointed with my experience tonight. I called at 8:04 pm and spoke with an employee because I tried placing an order online last night around 9:30 pm and the website said the business was closed. She told me to place my order between 9:00-9:30 since it's usually slow during the week. Tonight, I tried again starting at 9:20 pm and the online system still showed the store as closed. I then tried calling and was on hold from 9:24-9:29 pm, only for someone to finally pick up and immediately hang up on me. Continued to call back during business hours and you continuously hang up and then disconnect the phone. How rude! Your posted closing time is 10:00 pm, so this was frustrating and confusing. Friday nights are pizza nights. We've tried other pizza guys and it never compares to the one in Brentwood/Oakley. They seriously deliver so fast and being able to order online is really easy! Picking up at the location is great too more so because you get a free ice cream or 2L soda. A long awaited review to our favorite pizza place. Off the bat, Pizza Guys is not the best tasting pizza around, but it is plenty delicious that keeps us coming back (if the mood stucks) for more. As always, a staple to our order is the Hawaiian because its my daughter's favorite. The other order is usually a simple 2-topping pizza like pepperoni and sausage (or mushrooms) and sometimes, just plain cheese. We do like thin crust and Pizza Guys does it rendition well. What really won us over is their excellent customer service. The lady that answers the phone and is in the shop is very friendly and helpful. There is always a deal going on at Pizza Guys and we never fail to avail, usually the 2 pizza, 2 topping deal with a free 2 liter sodas. I usually call to see what they can do and I'm typically met with a rude attitude. Today was the last straw. I ordered a pie and for nearly 2 hrs I waited. Finally I called (met with a dismissive attitude this time) and was told they, once again, screwed up my order and had it for a pick up not delivery. So now Im waiting even longer. I would say we're a regular customer. Enjoy their pizza. Always ordered their specials that comes in the local flyers every Tuesday. Today I wanted to place an order and was told that they don't honor those specials when it clearly has their location on that flyer. Sounded like new people working there, so I'm wondering if it's a new owner. I was short tempered on discussing ordering the stated special on the weekly flyer. Just hung up, was getting nowhere with the guy on the phone. Too bad, guess I won't be going there anymore. Ordered 2 cup and crisp pepperoni and pineapple pizzas, received regular pepperoni. I called in about it and they said it was my fault and did not honor their mistake. My years long history shows I order the same thing. I am usually very happy with what I get. What ever happened to the customer is always right! Especially good ones that order almost weekly. Better train these folks, management. What is more likely, I ordered wrong or the worker didn't hear or pay attention to the same order I have made for years. Next, to whomever cooked the pizza, it came with minimum toppings and looks like a dominos pizza. This was a sorry pizza and not to pizza guys standards. Count the toppings in the picture. After searching web and several calls to many pizza places locally I am so happy I connected with Pizza Guys. Julie on the phone was amazing. I had gotten coupons in the mail. I need to pre order for a delivery later that day. It was my first time with them. I had 4 adults and 4 kids coming to my home. The extra large pepperoni was amazing and I ordered the Mediterranean which was a fun and gourmet treat I also ordered wings. Long review, but I have been buying the food from this location for years and, honestly, it could be a hit or miss. Unfortunately for this location, I will NEVER buy from them again after today. Why? Here is what happened: Craving pizza, my husband placed our order online for us to pick up. We have always selected this location to pick up from. When we arrived and gave our name for our order, the woman at the front said she didn't have an order from online. After a small back and forth, she informs us that there is a location further in Brentwood that we "might have" sent our order to. Which was totally our mistake! However, it was her next few comments that upset us. She said, "Don't worry. You give me your order now and we make it for you fast. What you order?" Confused, we told her that if our food was at another location, which was -again- our fault, that we'd have to go there to pick it up. We asked her where the other location was as we both left our phones at home (why would we need them to pick up a pizza order?). She again tells us to never mind the other place and she will help us here instead. I told her, "Wouldn't that be a waste for them? They shouldn't lose money for our mistake. Thank you though." She, again, assured us that SHE could better serve us. We left. What a TERRIBLE business practice! So it's ok to take a customer like that? I can give or take the food at times, but I won't do that with my morals. How many other nearby locations has she done this to and how many people took her up on it? She also refused to call and check for us and then refused to tell us the address of the other location. All she would say is, "It's somewhere on Balfour." I know they are all privately owned, but I find it greedy, unacceptable, and rude to do that to a fellow business owner. We drove for a bit looking at all the shopping centers since we didn't know WHERE on Balfour the other place was. When we found it I had to say something. The sad part is they know. They admitted I was not the first person to make them aware of it and that there wasn't anything they could do (which I knew, but had to inform them). They gave us a choice of a freebie for showing up and told us the only thing left was to make our salads as they want it to be fresh (OMG was it the BEST salad I've EVER had from a Pizza Guys!). Let me start off by saying we have been ordering pizza from here for years!! We spend almost $100 dollars if not more each time at least once a month but usually 2 or more times a month. The past few times we have ordered we have been very disappointed in the quality of the pizza. They don't put enough cheese. They have messed up on my orders maybe 6 times out of the 100 times I have ordered but the manager was always understanding and made things right. Last night we ordered an X-large Buffalo chicken pizza and two X-large pepperoni pizzas. My daughter placed the order online her first time doing this and she ordered the wrong pepperoni pizza she said she only saw one on there. I'm always the one that orders the pizza but last night she did. We ate the Buffalo chicken pizza no problem even though my daughter accidentally ordered it with onions. But the pepperoni was disgusting everyone took a bit of theirs and we could not finish our slices. I have a whole pepperoni and half a box that I'm holding on to because I am trying to get my money back. Normally I would just ask for a replacement for next time but everyone was so disgusted with the pizza they no longer want to eat Pizza Guys for a long time. I called Pizza guys to let them know that the pizza was made wrong and did not have enough cheese and Amy answered the call and she asked for the phone number and she said there was no order placed with that number. I gave a couple of others and nothing. I asked if she could look it up by email or address she said hold on and After being on hold for 20 mins waiting for her to come back on I received a call and had to hang up. I called back and was put on hold for another 5 mins just to be told she needs the phone number which I already gave her. I finally got a hold of my daughter who had the order number and I gave it to Amy and she said that the pizza was ordered correctly and that she would not give me my money back. Mind you she did not ask for pics she did not ask for me to bring it back she just said there's nothing she could do. I tried to explain to her that okay my daughter ordered the wrong pizza, she ordered the cup and crisp pepperoni pizza instead of regular pizza and I told her ok I understand that but that the pizza was gross and we didn't eat it and that I have all the pizza. She said there is nothing she could do. To call tomorrow because the manager was not in today. I asked if she could get a hold of a manager she said no. I asked who do you call if you have a problem or an emergency when there is no manager on duty? She replied hold on let me call the manager. She comes back on the line after I've been on hold for 5 mins and tells me she can not get a hold of the manger that the number she is calling that no one is answering? I asked her if she didn't have her supervisors cell number to reach them she said no only the number that is written down for them to call. I then tried to explain to her that I did not want to hold on to the pizza another day because it is taking a lot of space in my fridge and she tells me there's nothing she can do to call tomorrow and not to call back today because I would get the same response. I explained to her again that I understood we made a mistake but that we could not eat the pizza because it tasted really awful. She said that's what you ordered and that's what we made there's nothing she can do. I told her there wasn't enough cheese on the pizza too but did not respond to that request. You can see the pizza dough because there isn't enough cheese through out the whole pizza not just a spot here or there. Amy was very rude has no customer service and sits there and puts the blame on you a coating customer who just would like a refund considering all the money that I have spent there. I am not one to just try to get over and get free food. They can look up my account see that. Amy tells me I do not have time to keep talking to you about this there are other customers I have to deal with and answer the phone. What kind of employee tells a customer that?!! Why would pizza guys have an employee who is rude, disrespectful and has no patience or empathy for a customer? I asked mam did you hear what I said she said no I did not. I said mam please listen and I explained to her again that we did not like the pizza we could not eat it and she cuts me off and tells me to call tomorrow I don't have time and hangs up! Really! Amy shame on you! I will never be ordering from here again as long as she still working there. Or I receive an apology I was not rude or mean or disrespectful to her to get that kind of treatment. Like I said we buy food there for the past several years and have spent thousands of dollars and to be treated that way is wrong. To top it off I looked at my daughters receipt they didn't even apply the coupons to the order so they over charged her over $40 dollars too. This is sad. This is my go to Pizza delivery place. I usually order through my yelp app and about 99% of the time it is spot on. There was one occasion in the past where the order wasn't put through and I called after it had been an hour and they apologized and quickly had my pie out to me. Last night was national pizza day and I ordered a pizza through the yelp app and it informed me that it would be over an hours wait, when it was 15 mins past the time it stated it would be at my house, I called for a status. They apologized and quickly got the pizza to me. Unfortunately it had the wrong sauce on it :(. I called to let them know and they offered solutions but since it was so busy it didn't seem like I would get my pizza for the night. I opted for a refund instead. I know my review talks about two problems I've had with this location but what you don't see are all of the other perfect pizza deliveries I've had with this place since I've been ordering from them the last 3 years. Ok this review is not for the food or service at the actual restaurant, but more the the owner and his practices of advertising. I have requested that the "flyer drop" not be done at my house. I have seen videos of their advertising solicitation people either steal items,trample flowers or just complete disregard for others property.
