Hands down best bread and dipping sauces! You *must* try the onion dill dip and the cheese dip with the breadsticks. 10 years ago my husband and I moved to Northern Kentucky but every time we come back to visit family we stop in for Pizza Express bread! We got a medium 4 topping pizza and a salad for $20. Decent pizza and I really liked the crust.

This used to be my go-to place for a decent affordable pizza. They have a couple of carry-out specials during the week for people that just want a single pie, so that was a big plus. Over the past ~6 months though, something has changed internally where the quality has really gone down. Biggest problem is raw salt being added to the pizza making the food nearly inedible. Have no idea why anyone would do this as Pizzas are salty enough as it is and doesn't need course salt added after baking. They have great breadsticks too, but same problem, way too much course salt added after baking. Also skip their Ranch dressing. You're charged extra $ for something that tastes thinned out and just nasty. I might come back and give their Subs a try, but for now their Pizza is hopeless. read more

I had ignored this place for years and years because it seemed like a hole in the wall but sometime back in 2018, their insanely low-priced Wednesday night pizza special (Medium for $4.50 with tax at the time... Now $5.61) made me give it a shot. I was floored at how good it was and I have been a steady customer for the last 4 years with never a disappointment at any of their food, other than them removing items from the menu that I really liked. Their pizza features a regular style crust rather than thin, Detroit or Chicago but it is always amazingly crispy when you bite in. They add on a thick layer of cheese and a huge list of toppings that is more than just the basics over a solid tomato sauce. Beyond pizza they also have the amazing garlic breadsticks and cheese dip that have been a staple in the lakes area of Oakland County (think Waterford / Keego Harbor) since at least the 1970s and are almost impossible to find anywhere else. As a snack I will literally order a bag of sticks (6 or 12) and just chow down. The ribs are as good as places like Highland House that gets huge praise for them. There is a large variety of subs, plus chicken wings and even nachos that they cook up in the same oven as the pizza and sticks. They even feature a half-dozen different types of salad. So there is definitely something for everyone. The only reason this place is not on any of the "best of" lists is that it is carry-out only, not part of a chain and is not in a "cool" part of town (drop Pizza Express into Ferndale or Royal Oak and EVERYONE would be talking about it). Very disappointed with the outcome of my order, definitely not a 4 star pizza place. The pizza was extremely greasy and the ingredients tasted like they've been in a warm refrigerator for 2 days then served. Will not be eating here again unfortunately. read more

I tried this place for the first time yesterday, I got two slices one cheese & one pepperoni. I ate the pepperoni one and it was really good, I was nauseous for the rest of the day. I ate the second one this morning, & been sick ever since.. I'm talking chills, sweats, weakness, headache, nauseous, knots in my stomach everything. Safe to say I have food poisoning and I'll never return because they made the slices to order, they weren't sitting around... so I'm absolutely confused. read more

I'm pretty hooked on this place currently. The only downfall I have with it currently is that they aren't open for lunch. Also the uniforms could use some updating or better dress code. Not to thrilled to see a butt crack. But as far as food goes... The pizza isn't too bad. The breadsticks are amazing especially with the onion dip! I could probably go just for the breadsticks and onion dip. All in all, I will keep eating here. :) read more

This place isn't bad. The prices are great and the pizza is what you would expect for the price (pretty greasy, but no cardboard like crusts). I'll probably eat here again since I'm in the area visiting friends on a regular basis. Oh yeah, the garlic cheese bread is great. read more

I live pretty close to this location so I always wanted to try it. The problem is, every time I was driving by and thought to myself "Hey, I'll try Pizza Express today", they weren't open. If you're looking for lunch you're looking at the wrong place; they open at 3pm. That being said, I went into the unheated storefront and ordered a "Readi - Roni" for $6 and some change. The wait was about 10 minutes; pretty reasonable for a walk in. I always do pepperoni and cheese everywhere I go, so it's an equal playing field for reviews. I was slightly dismayed at the big GFS box I watched them bring out of a fridge. I don't have anything personal against GFS (other than stocking my school cafeteria nightmares) but I guess to me if I see a restaurant using it, I'm automatically thinking low-end. I wasn't wrong. The crust is ok, had a slightly bitter aftertaste to it but not bad. The cheese was very plain and greasy. The pepperoni was good, but not amazing. When I get cheap pizza like this, I ask myself every time "Is this better than Little Caesars' $5 pizza?" In this case, the answer is no. It's more expensive, and the quality is not there to merit it. There is a Dominos almost literally right next door so this place needs to start stepping up their game because Dominos is on the bottom of my pizza list under Little Caesars, and this place doesn't beat it. I really wanted to like this place; I'm a huge proponent of supporting the smaller local guys but I'm not going to do it just BECAUSE they're small and local. The service was good, no complaint's there. They also serve pasta, subs and rib dishes, but I'm willing to bet those are GFS as well. read more

My husband and I absolutely love the bread sticks here! We always get bread sticks with the "cheese" sauce. I'm not sure if it's actually cheese, but that's what we always order and they seem to know what we're talking about. It's probably just garlic butter and they think, "It's the weird cheese people again" Either way, we can't get enough of it! The pizza here is good but it's about the same price as our fav pizza place. So we usually order pizza from our fav place and get the bread sticks here. We did order the chicken before and it was very good! I ate it so fast that I didn't realize we ran out, I asked my husband, "where's the chicken?" And he said that I ate it all, I couldn't believe it. If you want some incredibly addicting bread sticks and awesome chicken, this is the place! Customer service was absolutely horrible. I ordered a small pizza, small fries, and half slab of ribs. Simple, no? Instead of ribs I was sent a half dozen of breadsticks and when I called back and explained the issue, the person who answered the phone was extremely rude. He continuously interrupted me and told me I was lying. Eventually I was transferred over to someone else, who I would assume was a manager, who was even more rude than the first guy. She spoke to me like I was an idiot and told me the best they could do for their mistake was take of the dollar and change they charged me for bread on the cost of the half slab but only if I returned the bread and dip I was given. So we ordered from here last night and that is not unusual. We normally do that on Friday evening. This was a different experience from normal. The kid on the phone was rude and disrespectful. My woman asked for what we normally get and was told it was going to be more than normal she wanted to clarify with the manager because of the kids attitude his response was "I just talked to her". She demanded to talk to the manager at that point and the kid finally gave the phone to her by saying "Tina talk to this B**** before I kick her in the F****** mouth". Rather then being professional about things the manager continues with the disrespect. I am done with this place and I am going to be talking with the owner as soon as I can. read more

Can't say enough about this place! We order the bread sticks with garlic dip every time; favorite in the area. Always perfectly seasoned and fluffy! The pizza is delicious as well the specialty and pepperoni are my top picks. The boyfriend loves the Italian subs it's a must almost every order for him. Pizza is always ready when I go for pick up. It depends on what time of day you go here if you want it good. My famliy orders here at least once a week and it varies every time. Recently the past couple times we've had delivery pizza and each time it came. It was all over the box and most of the chesse and meat was sliding off into the box. Very unpleasant when you give them so much patronage plus for the sheer fact all they had to do was drive across the road. Another time we had ordered subs and when we got them. They were so soggy we couldn't even eat them. Not wanting to just throw away meat, we tried to give it to these starving wild cats. They wouldn't even eat it. Through sometimes they are decent at best and they can be good when you order earlier in the day. So if you do get anything from here, make sure to pick it up yourself. I cannot rave enough about their club sub. You can't get this thing anywhere else. The toasted bread is delicious and so is the mayo they put on it! (It's also huge for like $8) Nowhere else compares this place is a hidden gem. Seriously SOO good!! read more
