Renowned for offering tasty thin crust pizzas at a fair price, this chain seems to be pretty successful all over the UK. The service in this branch of Pizza Express is usually up to standard and sometimes even better than that, which makes it a reliable standby when wanting to go out for a meal somewhere local. It can be especially nice in the summer (that is, if the sun is actually shining) as there is an outdoor eating area at the back of the restaurant, making the outdoor dining experience far more enjoyable than the experience of eating outdoors practically on the pavement like in Zizzi, which is next door.

As far as pizza goes, Pizza Pilgrims deserved a definite 5 stars. With unique options (including…read morevegetarian and vegan ones), both pizzas I tried had amazing flavor, the perfect amount of goey cheese, and were just the right size to leave me feeling satisfied. My mate and I ordered the the 8-Cheese and Double Pepperoni & Spicy Honey pizzas. As someone who doesn't tend to like pepperoni pizza, I really enjoyed this one. The spicy honey added a perfect kick and the pepperoni had just the right amount of crisp. For the 8-cheese, the sweet chili jam absolutely made it, and complete with the tableside chili oil was perfect. Splitting the two pizzas offered the perfect contrast between the different flavors as well. The dough was crispy on the outside but still a bit softer and chewy on the inside which is exactly how I like it. I have yet to find a better place for pizza and London, and honestly, this was better than any pizzas I experienced when last in Italy either.

The American Hot pizza was good with only a little burned parts on the bottom. I find it quite expensive these days especially comparing to places like Vapiano (which in terms of taste is better!). But for the location it was a good pick and a good pizza. All in all, this restaurant is nice and friendly though more suited for groups than couples or individuals!

We were seated inside and saw no signs of the special, but the manager brought a special menu detailing the special, so we ordered from it. The food was very good, and the server was efficient. However, when it came time to pay the server informed us that the manager said the lunch special was not available in their store! He said that it might be offered in Scotland and offered us 25% off instead. Considering it was clearly advertised on their window and we ordered off the specific lunch special menu, this was clearly unacceptable. We had the server question the manager, and our charge was corrected However, pulling a fast one like this was cynical. I thought it was because we were visiting from abroad, but a British couple adjacent to us, with the lunch special menu in hand, were told it was unavailable as well. They hadn't ordered yet, though, so they simply walked out.

Located in the popular Crystal Palace area where there are lots of different restaurants around,…read moremany have come and gone but this restaurant has been around for a very long time and the staff have stayed true to the restaurant also. Originally a Pizza Express, it seems to have mirrored itself along the same lines with their menu being very similar, you can see the pizza being made much like the PE restaurants so can see it is all freshly prepared. Service has always been very good and this is a great family place to come for a meal with lunchtime and evening service as well as take aways. The restaurant is always busy which is a good sign of good food and service. Bills come without the pressure of service charge added so you can leave a tip with as much or little as you like rather than it being demanded of you. Would recommend for young families, couples, friends catching up, etc.

I believe there is something for everybody on the menu It can get busy n there and a bit on the noisy side, but it kind of adds to its charm. It is still for all intense purpose a pizza express, you can see where they make the pizzas the chefs make the food. they have a well stocked bar.
