What makes HOMESLICE stand out is the ability to mix and match toppings on each half of a whole pizza, making it perfect for sharing and trying different flavour combinations. For our visit, we grabbed a couple of slices for a quick lunch while exploring the city. I went with the Salami, Rocket & Parmesan slice, which was loaded with toppings and packed with flavour, while my wife kept it classic with a Margherita slice. The slices are massive, yet the pizza remains light, crisp, and easy to eat. With its relaxed atmosphere, communal seating, and prime location near Covent Garden, HOMESLICE is an excellent stop when you need a quick bite between London attractions.

I Ordered a Margherita pizza slice (GBP5), that started off the chalkboard listing several other available varieties. It has taken the classic Neapolitan pizza ingredients and cooked and cut them up in the style of a thin New York slice. Loved it! 4/5 Sitting arrangements are there too, but of course at location like this, I would love to prefer sit outside. if you can't make it to this secret London location, don't worry. Sadly, I'm unable to rate the food as I was seated and forgot about. After 30+ minutes of sitting, looking around for someone to place an order and watching others seated, orders taken drinks arriving. I asked the people seated at the table next to me if I was supposed to order at the bar. They suggested I try the QR code ordering on the menu. Ok. I'll give it a go. I scanned the QR code, entered the table number on the bottle at the table and received a message stating invalid table number. Hmmm, Let me try again. Confirming Table 12 try again. Same result. Thus, I'm unable to rate the Pinot noir I wished to order to accompany my Pinoli pizza. It's also worth nothing they were NOT extremely busy. There were plenty of servers walking around. I'll never return. Too many other nice places in St Albans to be ignored and feel unwelcome.

They have really good pasta, pizza and salads, and they cater extremely well for children (kid sized cutlery, abundance of high chairs, and a kids menu). We are vegetarian and love the Mezzo E Mezzo pizza, Clarissa calzone, Spaghetti Pomodoro, Super salad, Tricolore salad, and the beetroot, artichoke and goats cheese salad that it on their current special's menu. They are also extremely happy to adapt the kids menu, and will add veggies to our toddler's margherita pizza. Dining with kids tip: try to sit somewhere where they can watch the pizza oven action.

Di Napoli Pizzeria is the only independent pizza restaurant for absolutely miles. It is also the only one with a proper forno a legna (wood fired oven) and it's a beaut too. The pizzaiolo is also from Palermo, so the credentials are definitely there. To put it in context, the nearest authentic Neapolitan pizza joints are as far away as East Finchley and Palmers Green - at least 20 minutes in the car and no option of delivery. If it wasn't for Di Napoli, the pizza selection in the Potters Bar (and the surrounding area) would be limited to the obvious chains serving up cheese topped loaves of bread to varying degrees of quality. Though I have been informed that Su Nuraghe has also started to dabble in pizza delivery, while Osteria Dante also does pizza as part of its menu. So, how do I rate Di Napoli? If I think local, it's by far the best pizza you can buy - by a mile. If you want something other than pizza - which comes in 13-inch or gigantic 16-inch sizes) they also do a range of starters / salads, pasta and desserts. While there are a couple of tables, first and foremost this is a delivery or collection restaurant. That is where Di Napoli is different to both Su Nuraghe and Osteria Dante which are more general Italian restaurants. Yes, there are better Neapolitan pizza restaurants in London but they are a long way away - and fundamentally not local. If I'm critical, the dough isn't as light as the very very best Neapolitan pizzas. In fact, rather than Neapolitan, it's much closer to the type of pizza I regularly get in Sicily - slightly thicker and denser in texture. I'm so grateful that this place exists and in my mind, it is a fantastic and much-needed addition to the restaurant selection in the local area. Pricing is also very reasonable and I know where I will ALWAYS spend my money on pizza when given the option of Di Napoli or the chains. If you are local to this area, you should do the same too.
