Pizza Hut is a chain which people either love or they hate. One 'Hut' rarely differs very much from the next, and a Peperoni Feast in one is indistinguishable from the same Pizza in another 'Hut'. When you step through the door, your enjoyment of the experience will depend on what expectations you have. If you are in the mood for an authentic Itallian pizza, with delicate, delicious and delectable flavours, don't even think of going to Pizza Hut. The deep-pan, stuffed-crust, sweet tomato sauce and lashings of cheese, finished off with a greasy pizza base make Pizza Hut pizza's a different genre to the authentic Italian Pizza, which is nothing more than a distant relation to Pizza Hut's famous dishes.
Bearing this in mind, I fall under the 'love it' group of Pizza-Hut goers.
Pizza Hut in the Roaring Meg in Stevenage lived up to my expectations of Pizza Hut, like any other Hut. The service was friendly, but not as attentive as your might like for an evening meal. The feel of the restaurant was very much one of getting clients in and out quickly - you were not rushed to finish your meal, but neither did the atmosphere encourage a long and leisurely meal (like places such as Pizza Express or Ask do). However, the pizza was piping hot and delicious, the plates and cutlery clean, and the drinks cold. To grab a quick bite to eat, Pizza Hut in the Roaring Meg is a perfect place to enjoy a casual meal. Not a place for first dates or marriage proposals! On the downside, the toilets could have done with a clean, but this can be my only real criticism of a place where you know what you're getting, and can enjoy an old favourite anywhere in the country. read more
