We went to Prezzo last night after being sent a voucher by a friend. Unfortunately we were very disappointed with the evening Although friendly and apologetic when on hand, the severe shortage of staff when we went to Prezzo last night when on hand, the severe shortage of staff when we went to Prezzo last night meant that the service was painfully slow and not very efficient. Given that they have a voucher out and the restaurant was therefore fully booked, you would have thought that they would have brought in more than two waitresses and one floor manager for the evening.
Whilst I didn't like the way our neighbouring diner shouted across the room when she got fed up with waiting for the bill, I did have to pull the waitress over and question why the couple on our other side were receiving their food first despite arriving 20 minutes after us. She ran off to get our food, 50 minutes after we arrived, but on her return we realised that she was bringing out our mains, not the starters we had ordered. She was apologetic on realising this but we felt the excuse that their computer was broken didn't really wash as it's easy to revert to the old fashioned system of pen and paper!
I hoped at this point that the food would be worth the wait but frankly I have seen better food prepared in a Year 7 Home Economics class! The meatballs had no distinguishable meat and the pizza was underdone and doughy.
The manager was very nice about the whole thing and offered us complimentary desserts but unfortunately by this point we just wanted to get going. Given that the restaurant is within sight of a Pizza Express and a Zizzi's we will be going there next time we need a quick and easy Italian fix. read more
