We love staying in St Albans as there are so many Italian restaurants and we plan to try them all. Tonight was Bellacino's turn. Beautiful restaurant with some of the most awkward seating I've ever seen. We were seated at a corner table and my chair was surrounded decorative tree. There was a wicked draft coming in the window- which was easily fixed with the drink menu. Sometimes these little details matter, but tonight it did not. The food made us completely forget the quirkiness of environment. We started with the gamberi alla bursara (yum) then penne arrabiatta for the main course. Instead of the usual peperoncino, they used a green pepper. It didn't taste like arrabiatta usually does, but dang... it was great. I planned to take a few photos, but got caught up in eating. We will definitely be back. read more
