Manny's is ideally located on a side street off Northumberland street making it very convenient for shoppers, students or city centre workers alike. There were 4 different pizza's on display on my arrival which were explained to me by a very friendly lady behind the counter however there are many more options on the menu. They had meat options, vegetarian slices and even a white pizza (for those who are unaware this is pizza without the tomato sauce) so all in all a good selection. I opted for the prosciutto and rocket slice which was delicious....lovely thin base and beautiful combination of flavours! I chose to sit in the window which meant I could people watch which is always fun but you can also take out or have your pizza delivered which is great! I was a bit disappointed that I couldn't see any of the desserts on offer in the counter although possibly a blessing for my waistline. There is also supposedly a Man Vs Food challenge which could be interesting. I will definitely be back to try something else!

The food is standard, nothing spectacular but for the price it is great value. I would highly recommend the Calzone, although it can be quite heavy. The amaretto cake for dessert is one of my favourites. One of the most disappointing aspects of Santanas is the staff. Some of them are polite and well trained but some our quite rude and comes across aggressive. Another downside of the place are their receipts - still hand scrawled pieces of paper. They can be quite unclear and have had a few indescrepancies in the past and been overcharged. Overall a good place to grab something quick but wouldn't go out of my way to eat here

Their soft launch menu features only Neopolitan-style pizzas - you know the ones that are only baked for a minute or two in a super-hot oven, you eat with a knife and fork, simple fresh tomatoes and the finest mozzarella, not heavy with toppings? They're very busy, as everyone is excited about the relaunch, but we came on the second night they were open and got a table after waiting only 10-15 minutes at around 630 pm, but if we went any later we would've been waiting longer. Staff are still figuring out the kinks of having a new restaurant, but you can't hold that against them at all! They'll have it down to a science within a few weeks, no doubt. Just be prepared to forgive a few occasional serving missteps. The new building is casual but sleek and shiny, with a huge open kitchen where you can watch the master work! We enjoyed some huge plump green olives and drinks while we waited for our pizzas. And what can I say, for what they are, they are the best we've had outside Italy (and probably tied with those). Perfect crust. Light, fresh ingredients. Good size for one person (a rocket salad split between two is the perfect accompaniment and will help you fill up). The spicy sausage on top was great, but you can't beat the pizza margherita for sheer simplicity. However, my husband and I both agreed that though these pizzas were great, we terribly miss the old Cal's Own. His Brooklyn-style pies were absolutely second to none, and that's what we crave when we want pizza. Neopolitan style is elegant and wonderful, knife-and-fork pizza. But Cal did huge pizzas that were sliced, and topped with all sorts of wonderful things, and we miss those every day! We hope that after a successful start, that Cal will expand his menu to include those beloved Brooklyn pies, but we'll definitely be back to try these again too!

When you go up the escalator, go left and the entrance will be to the right. Once inside, you are greeted by humorous and efficient waiters who take you to your table. When we visited, it wasn't very busy and we were seated immediately by the balcony overlooking Eldon Square which was great for people watching. The pizzas didn't take too long to come and you could see chefs using the clay oven to cook them. They were absolutely delicious! The only other pizza places that even come close to Rossopomodoro are Paesano in Glasgow and Avanti in Jesmond. We were also given feedback cards, and I completed one and a few days ago, I got an email from them which had a free dessert voucher attached! How kind of them! I had a great experience and I can't wait to come back soon. I really will have to come back soon because my voucher expires April 29th!

The menu was full of Italian standards, and seemed fairly inexpensive.  I really had no expectations as I'd heard nothing about Uno's before, and the whole family was pleasantly surprised by how good our lunches were.  We started with whitebait and calamari - I didn't taste the calamari, but the whitebait were piping hot and perfectly crisp.  Even my 20-month old loved them, to my great surprise!  The calamari came with the Sunday lunch - only £14.95 for three courses, and my mother-in-law thought the sea bass (Chef's "fish of the day" option on the Sunday deal) was absolutely gorgeous, and it came served with bright vegetables.  My husband and I shared a lovely Rustica pizza (£9.95) with a crisp crust, juicy tomatoes, lots of parma ham, Parmesan shavings, and rocket.  Even better was the spaghetti meatballs - not an enormous portion of pasta, but the meatballs were abundant!  For £9.95 you really get your money's worth in the meat department, but more pasta would've been nice!  However, the meatballs were truly a cut above.  They really reminded me of...well... meatballs that I would cook.  You could see inside them the onion, spinach, herbs - they were not uniform, hard balls - they were hand-formed and full of different ingredients besides meat, and they were soft and delicious.  The toddler really enjoyed them too! Desserts - sticky toffee pudding and tiramisu - were just fine.  Classic and well-presented, but not staggering.
