Had the chicken parmigiana dinner. The chicken is chicken tenders which were pretty good. Wasn't a big fan of the marinara sauce on the spaghetti. The small salad that came with it was average. My wife had a ham and cheese sub. The ham was basic deli meat ham. So the sub was average. The french fries were good. Me daughter had the Alfredo pizza, she really liked it. Said it was better than others she has had. I'm not an Alfredo fan so didn't try it. The atmosphere is very nice, it is actually in a barn structure. Overall an average pizza joint. read more

I am sad to have to write this review, as I have loved the Pizza Barn's food in the past, especially the Taco Pizza. However, the last two times I have gone there, the pizza has been not as good.....kind of thrown together, crust not completely cooked. They are also extremely expensive.....it came to $60 for three pizzas. The biggest problem, though, was that when I went to pick up my order, I watched my taco pizza being made....the woman had bare hands, no gloves! She was scooping the lettuce out of the bin with her bare hands and putting it on the pizza. Not okay ever, but especially during a pandemic! Very disappointed in the staff not requiring patrons to wear a mask while waiting for a table or walking around. No one in the kitchen wore a mask or gloves. Watched one of the kitchen help stand with his feet inside the edge of a food cooler while reaching into the upper cooler. Went to PB for the first time and all I can say is...One and done!!! We will definitely not be going back. First, it would have cost me a mortgage payment if I got the toppings that I wanted so we ordered the Farmer's Daughter....a small was $19 and change. We ordered it well done. The service was slow but we weren't in a hurry. A large group gets seated at the table in front of us and I hear the waitress offer them FRESH vegetables!!! I wasn't offered that and she didn't come back until she brought our food so I couldn't change it. The canned mushrooms were one thing BUT canned green peppers should be BANNED!!! This was probably the WORST pizza I have ever tasted and we will never go there again!! We sat next to a very nice lady that said she had been going there for the past 30 years when she goes on vacation. She couldn't believe how bad it was tonight from food to service. She said she won't be going back. While I HAVE to give this place a rating of a one instead of a zero...it is justified ONLY by the music selection on the jukebox. read more

This isn't just your ordinary pizza place! I gave up on pizza for a long time I just didn't care for the parlors around my way. We've been here 16 years and had never been to the Pizza Barn, had always heard too expensive and not worth the price. Wellll THEY WERE WRONG!!! It ROCKS!! I say worth every penny and then some. Ordered a large Hamburg and mushroom pizza crust was good sauce tasted like it was a can from 1971 and the mushrooms tasted the same as well soggy and gross tasting. Thew about a pound of tasteless Hamburg on top - way too much in the topping department. Too bad it had a funky retro atmosphere but can't believe the place has stayed open this long your better off with a can of chef Boyardee and your wallet will thank you. Tourists keep on going for a few miles north on route 16 and go to McDonald's at least you know what you will be getting. read more

I wouldn't recommend eating here. Hard picnic tables and backless benches are the only seat choices. We got the Farmers Daughter pizza and substituted bacon for hamburger. The top of the pizza was covered with peppers and Luke warm canned mushrooms, I think I saw a few pepperoni on the pizza but neither saw nor tasted any bacon. Pretty good pepperoni pizza here. It's sliced by hand and extra thick. I recommend getting it well done, love that extra crispy.

I will NEVER understand peoples obsession with this place. Extremely expensive pizza. Which, I wouldn't complain about if it was actually good. Canned vegetables, greasy, soggy, sloppy mess. This is absolutely a tourist trap. I can only assume that it must have been good 'back in the day' but its really, really awful. We had steak bomb sandwiches and onion rings. It was okay. The onion rings were a but greasy. The steak bomb was steak meat, onions, green peppers, mushrooms and cheese --no salami which I'm used to seeing in a steak bomb. It came with a bag of Lay's potato chips. The décor is kind of cute--long picnic tables in a barn! However we thought it was very dark. I wouldn't want it to be overly brightly lighted but it could be better lighted. This is the best pizza place in New England! I have been going there every summer for years. I worked at a camp not to far away and whenever we could the staff would go there for a night out. The pizza has great thick crust, the sauce is delicious and so is the cheese. I always get a minipie with hamburger on it. They are very liberal with the toppings fully covering the pie. The service is extremely friendly. Even though I was just there to get takeout they made sure I was perfectly satisfied with everything. I cant wait to return. read more

Ok first time Pizza Buyer here .. 3/18/2011 We call to order Pizza on the Phone.....The Lady who answered sounded Annoyed that we even called to order...she puts me on hold for like 3-4 min...Then some guy picks up and asks if he can help me....I give him the Order 2 large pizza's.... 1- pepperoni pizza..... The 2nd pizza I wanted all pepperoni ,mushroom one half with onions....He repeats what I said then gets our name and says that will be 45 min and just hangs up.....I'm like OK....So wife gets back with the Pizza's opens both Boxes Not only are they BURNT TO A FREAKIN CRISP The one that has mushrooms has CANNED mushrooms that were thrown on the pizza after it was cooked because everything underneath the mushrooms was BURNT....And then HEY where are the onions they charged me for.....well not on the pizza....Anyways WORST PIZZA I have had in a LONG time. I might be picky but if you can't cut fresh mushrooms for your pizza..Where else are you taking shortcuts....THIS PLACE SUCKED!!!!!! read more

"it is what it is" - is a good slogan to keep in mind when you go in to the pizza barn. i think people have misconceptions going into the pizza barn because they've seen it showcased on the phantom gourmet and some other food shows, and therefor assume, it's the best pizza in the world. i can say with certainly that if this place was doing business in boston people would turn their nose up at it. but considering what else is around to eat up in that area, it's a stand out. the pizza barn's pro is also it's con - quantity over quality. the pros: you eat in a cool old barn that has long picnic tables. you get a lot of food. cheap pitchers of beer (although you can count the beer list on one hand). friendly and fast service. the cons: the pizza toppings are really mediocre - we got a farmer's daughter and while the peperoni was really good, it was loaded with canned mushrooms, peppers, and had what tasted like boiled hamburger on it. it was just okay, but it wasn't great and i wouldn't order it again. also the salad was uneventful and loaded with mostly chopped iceberg. meh. next time we go, we're sticking with a peperoni pizza (and beer) because as previous yelpers have mentioned, with the amount of toppings you get the pizzas just don't cook through enough. i really love the atmosphere and the friendly service, but i would seriously encourage them to take a look at the quality of many of the items they offer. read more

The Pizza Barn is nothing they don't claim to be. They're a pizza place, in a barn. Pretty simple. And you know when you're paying a crazy amount just to add pepperoni to your pizza, they're going to load it on. My favorite is my own creation... the stall-sized with bacon and broccoli on it. It's thick, smothered, and greasy. Just how I love it. They make their own dough, hand-toss it, and then let every pizza bake from scratch. So yeah, things take a bit longer than at Domino's. But it's very worth it. Their Caesar salads are also huge, and four people could easily split one as an appetizer. Plus they have pitchers of soda, which is hard to find these days unless you're at Chuck E Cheese. read more

We were hungry&looked on-line for a pizza place. Up popped Pizza Barn. I called in a large pepperoni & Pineapple and a small pepperoni & mushroom. When I arrived & told them we'd be eating the pizzas there the waitress gave me a speech about how you can't call in your pizza and then eat it there. I explained I've never been here before, and most likely will never return, and I was unaware of "your rules". She hmph'd at me and said "well, just so you know!"... Ok.... When the pizza was delivered to the table, the large had about 2lbs of pepperoni on it & an entire can of pineapples. Yum!, you might be thinking- but no- gross! It was so unbelievably greasy. We picked off about 3/4 of the pepperoni & the pile was huge! The middle of the pizza was so loaded and soggy that the dough didn't even get a chance to rise...it was flat in the middle (and couldn't support any weight) while the edge of the pizza had risen about 1/4" to a 1/2" inch but was heavy with grease as well. After 2 icky slices, I was planning the remainder of our trip around where I might find a bathroom along the way-- in one end out the other with this meal, I'm afraid :( I felt like I needed to eat an entire head of lettuce to balance out how unhealthy I felt!! The price was as appalling...$23.00 for the large, $17.00 for the small! With soda & juice boxes (&small tip) our total was $50.00! Ugh-- just cuz it's a cool location, don't bother. You want to see the inside? Take a camera (with a really good flash cuz it's so incredibly dark in there) then get a good look & leave. read more

We stopped here last Saturday at about 5 pm. The restaurant was fairly empty with only one other table occupied. The waitress was nice and friendly. We ordered a half pepperoni half plain cheese Pizza. The food came out quickly and hot! There was tons of pepperoni on the pizza and the cheese looked so good. Once it cooled we dove in. We each had two pieces and took the rest home which ended up being a late night snack AND lunch the next day. The pizza was extremely good. Tge cheese, sauce and crust were better than any pizza house. I would recommend this restaurant. I look forward to returning and seeing how busy a Friday or Saturday night is here. It looks like it would be a blast at night with lots of patrons. Also, small video game room with a pool table is also on site. read more

Pizza use to be my favorite in the area and I didn't mind paying the inflated price $16 for a large cheese, $5.10 for each meat topping. They have always been more expensive then any other pizza place in the area. But the last 3 times I've ordered and requested it to be cooked extra because they tend to under cook it, I think they cook it less, in spite. Needless to say the pizza barn I grew up frequenting, has changed it no longer is worth the prices they charge. read more

I'm a recent NH transplant from MA and am a big fan of The Phantom Gourmet. When I saw that they had been to The Pizza Barn, I knew I would have to try it. I finally was able to do so in July 2010 and sadly I felt compelled to review the place so bad I went ahead and created a Yelp account just to do so. When we got to The Pizza Barn I noticed they were moderately busy, and only got very busy as we were getting ready to leave. Why then did it take about an hour to get our pizza after ordering? It took way too long. Their prices are on the high side. $10 for an antipasto "large enough to share." The price was outrageous for a plastic plate full of lettuce with 4 tomato slices and barely any meats. Maybe I was spoiled with living in Boston for so long but a $10 antipasto from where I come from gets you something much better that isn't easily tackled by two people, unless after doing so they question if they can eat their meal (which doesn't come out 40 minutes later, by the way). All told the pizza was very good, but I am left with a feeling of being short changed given the long...LONG wait, assembly line like service, and poor value for the money (at least the antipasto...pizza prices can be debated I suppose). Our friends got mushrooms on their pizza and they were clearly canned. Not acceptable. read more

So after driving past here a million times coming and going to North Conway I finally stopped in after seeing it on Phantom Gourmet. I am an abnormality among most women, though this doesn't come out unless we're eating pizza. My friends immediately grab wads of napkins and start blotting all the oil out of their pizza...I just let it all run all over my plate and rejoice in its oily-goodness. It's gross, I know. But I like it, and apparently others do too, because this is some of the most greasy-yet-yummy pizza I've had. The cheese is of the kind that slides off the crust since it's so hot, the pepperonis are large and the slices are too. We have driven by several times and it was always busy, so after a recommendation from a friend about this family restaurant, we finally stopped. With only 3 standard pizzas offered at a reasonable price, my husband and I ordered individual pizzas. Without realizing the cost of toppings and sauce, our 3-topping 12" pizzas were over $20 each! And to top it off, they had no flavor! (We did opt for alfredo sauce.) Granted, with picnic table dining and pitchers of beer and lemonade, it is definitely a family-friendly restaurant, but for the cost I'm not sure how a family could afford to dine here. I always look forward to the Pizza Barn. For the past few years this has been a family tradition. We have a camp down the road and after a long day on the lake or at the beach or a long canoe trip we always stop at the Pizza Barn. I first start with a picture of Beer. I try lots of different pizzas so far the best is the Taco pizza and the chicken broccoli pizza. The Pizza's are loaded they are not shy or small portioned. I would say half moon shaped. It is not the best Pizza but it is good pizza and I never had a complaint. Great place for the family and friends to get together and have a good hearty pizza. read more

Service by Herbie was excellent. Food came out fast thankfully with our dog eagerly awaiting our return in the car. Onion rings were very good. Pizza was pretty good too. Atmosphere was very cool with exposed low hanging rafters that my 6 foot 3 husband just barely cleared. Long picnic tables to sit at.....Arcade for the kids. I recommend for sure. read more

Went last year in my family's yearly trek to ME. My wife had and still has fond memories of the Pizza Barn. After going there I saw why. The place had a great atmosphere and the service was good.
