With Bloom, I feel GREAT about the program and teachers, and have full peace of mind when I take my daughter and drop her off. Stacy (the owner) is very experienced and level-headed. She's great with kids and is always calm and collected while simultaneously showing enthusiasm for the kids. Stacy has developed curriculum that is fun, multifaceted and holds my daughters attention. I like a balance between play and learning and I feel Bloom gets this right. Bonus: my daughter brings home adorable crafts matching the weekly theme. My daughter attended during the 2020-21 school year. The owner Stacy told me at the tour that she was going to try and find a transparent shield for her face so she could pull down her mask and smile at the kids. She couldn't imagine not being able to show the kids facial expression. **Okay, I don't know about you, but this is exactly the kind of teacher I want for my child. One that sincerely cares about the emotional and social development of her students. ** She would give the parents periodic updates regarding Covid safety rules but she didn't ever appeared frazzled by the changing protocol of Covid mandates. There was one Covid exposure risk during the year and Stacy did a A+ job of informing us and keeping us safe with an appropriate closure and re-opening. Honestly, Bloom was a major "silver lining" for an otherwise CHALLENGING year. I'm so grateful to Stacy, Nicole, and Amber for a fantastic first year of preschool. I am now counting the days till summer vacation is over and school starts back up!

During the preliminary observation session, I was so impressed with the atmosphere and learning spaces. Each classroom was so whimsical and yet completely intuitive for a child to navigate. Because independent exploration is encouraged, the rooms are highly organized and accessible to little bodies. Throughout the year, we had numerous opportunities to develop relationships with other CSWS families, while the staff became like a second family to our little girl. She felt right at home, with a genuine affection for her teachers, and it was clear that all of the staff were on the same page in terms of values and discipline. I felt extremely lucky to have such a top-notch crew observing and guiding her behavior at that tricky stage! Our daughter joined CSWS with a huge delay in her speech, but her teachers were attentive and raised our awareness to her progress and challenges. When she left CSWS, she was as articulate as any 4-year-old could hope to be... and now she never stops talking! ;) Her teachers also sent weekly updates about topics of interest to the students, anecdotes and funny moments that occurred throughout the week, and some truly precious photos that captured each of the children in their element. I found Aster when it was recommended by the director of Sno-Springs School, near our home. I was admittedly skeptical as I was not particularly impressed by other Montessori schools on the Plateau and in the Highlands. Ms Aparna and her assistant director worked with me and my wife to devise a plan to acclimate our son to their environment and routine. We started with part-time enrollment in their summer camp program. My son immediately loved their large grassy and wooded play area, which was 3x bigger than his old daycare's concrete one. We then continued with Aster into the school year. Although it was very difficult for him at first, Aster Montessori was very patient with our headstrong son's adjustment to Montessori. He quickly improved his social skills ("grace and courtesy") and made good friends at the school. He looked forward to going to preschool each day. As parents we are pleased that our son is achieving his language & math milestones with ease -- he is ahead of his older sibs when they were in preschool -- we are most excited that he's maturing as person. That is, he is starting to understand and regulate his rather challenging temperament. I just wish Aster had been around when our daughters were in preschool! In fact, many of the comforts you'd expect when dropping kids off with family are present here: you can never be late, every child is seen, valued and respected, snuggles are always welcome and students are taught to be a good friend to others. It's no surprise the owners have adopted three out of four of their daughters; they know what it takes to turn strangers into a family.
