A number of shelves were already empty, and the store felt noticeably picked over. I went in hoping to find some discounts, either regular sales or closing deals, but there really weren't any. That was a bit disappointing, especially given how bare some of the aisles looked. Customer service was pretty much nonexistent, which has honestly been the norm here, but it felt even more noticeable this time around. You can still stop in and grab what you need, but don't expect any stellar service or great bargains. It's sad to see this location closing. Hopefully, something good moves into the space.

Produce is pretty hit and miss, the meat dept has a decent variety but it's all pre-packaged; no meat cutters. Nice salad bar and deli area. Dry goods are pretty standard, not a lot in the way of household cleaning supplies. The two weirdest things that stand out to me: 1. There are tons of people constantly stocking. I get it and I get the business model but the side effect is that the employees and their carts are always in your way. 2. Is it just me or does it seem like 3/4 of the workforce here was hitting the devil's lettuce extra hard last night and they're wandering around in a haze today? Customer service isnt "bad," per se, it's just sort of like they're on a different planet. Jeff Bezos is coming for your grocery pesos. I'll be at the salad bar.

After seeing this store while driving on the highway, hubby and I decided to go and check it out…read more Upon entering the store, we noticed there were two different types of shopping carts for customers to use which were orange or green as well as a dash cart option. Hubby asked employee for more details about the different shopping options and the employee told him customers could shop the "normal way they" pay via self checkout or with a cashier or do the "dash cart" option. Hubby was told that the "dash cart" option was for Amazon Prime members who had their account connected to their bank account. After hubby confirmed his Amazon Prime bank account information, he was given a special cart which allowed him to scan our I'm while shopping for a completely contact-free experience As we walked down the aisles at Amazon Fresh Murrieta, I noticed that some of my favorite items cost substantially more there than elsewhere (e.g Veganaise is $9.99 at store I usually shop but was $11.57 at Amazon Fresh.) Hubby loved scanning his items while shopping and hearing the "ding" sound to signal that the scan was a success. When arriving at the salad bar and hot bar, I was pleasantly surprised to see allergen listed above the hot and salad bar food, I was disappointed by the small amount of vegan friendly bar options which consisted of ingredients to make a salad, vegetable stir fry, an Asian inspired chopped salad, and dolmas. I will admit that there was a bit of a learning curve when using the dash cart for salad bar items but luckily, an employee was nearby to walk us through the process. During our shopping trip, we learned that whenever you plan to purchase an item from the "salad bar," you have to select "add food or code," type in "salad bar," place your box in the back of the cart to have it automatically weighed, then place the box of food in your cart. Though this technology is cool, there we're times when the cart gave an error that we didn't put the item in the cart but this was easily fixed by pressing a button confirming all items weee in the cart. The ambience in the store was pleasant with several employees stocking the shelves, clear digital signage in the aisles, and wide aisles to accommodate several shoppers. My main pet peeve at Amazon Fresh Murrieta was that the store grouped vegan frozen food mixed with non vegan food. I personally would prefer to have vegan frozen food separate but understand that this might not be possible due to freezer space constraints. As hubby prepared to pay for our groceries, he was extremely pleased when he walked through the dash lane and exit, was checked out contact free, and the cart presented him with the choice of if he wanted his store receipt emailed to him. Overall, we both liked the shopping experience because it was interactive and thorough but disliked having to confirm that items purchased were actually in the cart. Likewise, we and would like to see more clearer signage in the hot bar/salad regarding discounts since we were told by an employee that food from there areas were reduced in price during 6pm-7pm but didn't see a discount on our store receipt.

I used to do delivery every once in a while to stock up on the items I liked that I could only get from Amazon Fresh, that is until they changed the minimum spend for delivery. I don't do huge orders so that bummed me out. A few weeks ago, I was just browsing on Amazon like everyone does, and clicked into Amazon Fresh. To my joyous surprise there was a pick up option and it was just over a mile from my home. In the past few weeks I've done 3 drive up orders. You schedule a one hour window to pick up. Amazon asks that you check in on your app that you are on your way 10 minutes prior to arrival. Once arrived, you enter your parking space number, all very simple. My first pick up order went very smoothly. My second had about a 5 minute wait. My third, I checked in 15 minutes prior to my arrival and then sat outside for another 15 minutes. No one ever came. I finally went inside and no one would acknowledge me. I kept asking for someone to help me until finally someone came over. There was a group of employees just standing around talking. They didn't want to help and it seemed like I was an inconvenience. I saw my order sitting on a cart and said it was mine and they wanted to check my order number on my phone to verify. All while my frozen and cold items just sat there. This last trip really irritated me. Since this is a newer service, I'm hoping they can work out the kinks to ensure better service going forward.

Looking on amazon.com I found some window insulation. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DSHVSFYX?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1 It was reflective like aluminum foil.  I found it to be thin and have similar insulation quality as a double layer of aluminum foil.  It is pretty flimsy and tricky to keep in place against the screen. Not awesome but I like it better than aluminum foil. On the left side of the window I have 3 1 inch sheets of foam insulation and on the right side I have a double layer of the aluminum window insulation plus a sunshield. I took some temperature measurements. wunderground.com temp for area 87F wall 79F window with 3 layers of 1 inch foam insulation 82F window with aluminum window insulation plus sunshield 84F So far using 3 inches of foam insulation is the best insulation I've found.  I'm going to keep looking for better insulation for this troublesome window. I…read morewanted a working firepit, so I started calling every company in the area with "Fireplace" in its name. Most of them said that what I wanted -- refurbishing an old fire pit -- was not something that they did. The person who answered the phone at AMS was willing to discuss possibilities with me, and after some back and forth, I decided that what I wanted was to have AMS rip out the plumbing in the existing firepit and replace it with a new insert. AMS fireplace first sent a plumber to verify that the gas pipes were safe and functional. Then they sent a technician to measure. Then they custom-manufactured a firepit insert that fit into my masonry, and then they sent out someone to remove the old burner and install the new one. I was so happy with the result that I decided to have AMS Fireplace replace the insides of the gas fireplace that came with my house with a new one that worked better (the heat goes into the room and not up the chimney). They did this too, but since it didn't require custom manufacturing it was quick. As I write this review it is late September 2024. I expect that in a month or so I will start wanting again to use the inside fireplace for warmth. In the meantime, my grandchildren love to cook smores and hot dogs on the outdoor firepit. I've had to devious about where I hide the key that turns on its gas.

When I called, they did find my order and confirmed it was in, but I had to follow up a few times due to how busy they were. Saul was outstanding: extremely careful bringing everything in, respectful of my home, and he arranged the logs perfectly. His attention to detail and professionalism were excellent. Would recommend, just expect that you may need to be proactive with communication during peak season.
