A Beauty to the Eye In July, I called Modern Postcard for my upcoming exhibition in the City. I would like to have two postcards made of my pastel works. Christine was detailed, courteous and skillful in helping me get started. Aileen in production was attentive and creative in resolving problems. Expensive, Rude, Complicated. The process is so confusing and complicated, and the results are subpar. First of all I did a post card run because I want to help the post office. But they mailed back the unused material from out of state via UPS rather than USPS! Secondly, the time and money spent could have been better used by phoning clients and other endeavors. Thirdly, one lady was rude to me on the phone and treated me as if I were an idiot. Never ever again! read more

We love Modern Postcard ... they have always done an excellent job for us in the 5+ years that we've been using them. We use them exclusively now after trying a more ***ahem*** economic route once or twice ... I actually think that the printer who made a complete mess of our postcards once had "economy" in their name. Our mistake not letting Modern Postcard take care of everything! We've had no trouble with the online system, but this could be due to the fact that we have had the assistance of a wonderful Account Manager like AnnaMarie. We've worked with her for several years and she takes care of us in the planning phase and we never have one bit of trouble. Her assistants help us out, too, and we always know the cost of things up front and the result is always perfect. Quick explanation is we didn't receive any benefit from the mailing. We have completed mailers in the past and we received at minimum 1% from other companies. When we ask for a mail confirmation they gave us a verbal confirmation "the post office said they where mailed" I would not use them again but other people may feel different I think they are not focused on keeping customer. read more

Here's what I love: - The quality of their print has far surpassed any other company I've worked with (and there have been a lot). - They have a very specific ordering system used with clients to ensure everything about their mailing goes as planned. - However, they've also been flexible with me regarding this system, allowing to speed up the time it takes me to place an order with up to 10 different versions and separate mailing lists. - They review your order. The small nonprofit I work for in Northern California has been using Modern Postcard for years. I firmly believe that the excellence of our printed products has added greatly to our success in fundraising. Modern Postcard's quality control is excellent but the real reason I love this company is the customer service. Ken, Pilar and the rest that I've worked with have all been extremely patient, proactive and prompt. I love the way they work with me to make sure everything that gets mailed out is as perfect as we can make it. I could use a local printer and/or mailhouse and my jobs could probably get done a little faster, but I doubt I can find customer service this excellent anywhere else. Customer Service - Beyond excellent! Proofing - Perfect Print quality -- Excellent (though I wish they were a little more versatile in terms the paper and sizes they offer) Mailing - Nearly excellent (The only beef I have with their mailing is that their standard speed is 7 days from final proof but they can get things out as soon as three or four days... IF you pay extra.) Market Research - Wow (they provided a detailed analysis of our database for free!) Mailing lists - We'll see.... (We just purchased our first list from them and will know in about a month if it paid off) Prices - Very reasonable. Other - Templates are great. If they ever have a question or see issues with my postcard prepress, someone always calls me to find a solution. I have also used their mailing services and it has always worked out great. They were proactive, always on top of my requests, and most importantly delivered a great product, on time, at a fair cost. So I gave a chat and then a call with this knowledgeable rep, Ryan Rammel who is like a God of information. I've been using MP for about 7 years through work and I couldn't praise them more. While it's true that their ordering system is completely automated, they've taken care to work out the kinks and help everything run smoothly. I think I've only had 1 job run awry - and because it was their error, they paid for it. I've also received numerous phone calls from MP while a job is in progress just to check in or remind me to respond to their email. I would definitely recommend them for party invites, marketing mailers (also have used their mailing system with success), and any cool thing you'd like to see mass produced on a postcard. read more

Yes, I agree! Expensive, Rude, Complicated! - Not knowing the In's and out's of advertising- Bleed lines etc. I explained to them I didn't know what I was doing- All he kept saying was SURE just send me the files I will TAKE CARE of you. So I did- After I approved the proof- He charged me an extra 90.00 for "TAKING CARE" of me. So when I called to let him know- he said- well it was commen sense- I should have known what bleed lines are..... What a bunch of crock! The guy was erogant and I think he thought he owned the company! He wouldn't even let me talk to a manager- I bet the owner would have treated me better than he did..... Got my cards one day faster than their scheduled 4-day turnaround. They look great! Only thing I would change is the online interface, which didn't work for me at all, I had to email all of my materials instead of submit them through their web page, then approve of the layout through email as well. These guys are great! Their website provides easy instructions and how-to's for any type of job. But if I have any problems or questions, Armando is helpful and courteous. We use them for postcard mailers and the upload system is easy to use, and turn around time is fast. The end product is printed on quality paper and looks very professional. In this age of quick cheap digital printing, Modern Postcard is one of the few printers where I can still get an "old-fashioned" high-quality print of a photograph. I am always so happy with the reproduction! Their production department also actually understands and answers technical questions! Their customer service is responsive and fast. I have always loved working with Modern Postcard. But today they went above and beyond for me and I am over the moon with their customer service. I submitted the files for a large print order today, after having proofed and reviewed the files with numerous colleagues. An hour or so after submitting the files I got a call from my rep Victoria saying their graphic designer Ali had noticed a typo on the backside of my postcard order. We had listed a date as Thursday, December 7. Well, this year the first Thursday in December is the 6th. This date is listed on the card to promote a big party; this was a SERIOUS typo. We would have had no choice but to reprint the cards once we discovered the mistake (which is not in our budget). Not only did Ali catch my typo, she was also able to make the correction for us! Being Friday afternoon I was already nervous about trying to reach my graphic designer. I was afraid our job would get pushed back to Monday and that would have thrown the whole timeline off. Their work is of the best quality, including layout, printing, and service. They are always meet deadlines and have never disappointed me. Pressed for time, I have sent them photos that were not of the best quality. They always manage to make images look better than the originals. Work also arrives with NO typos and they always follow instructions exactly. I cannot praise Modern Postcard enough and recommend them to anyone needing the best quality work.
