I'm also in love with the ambiance that this place has. You have to walk in and witness it for yourself. It's like stepping into a time machine from 1960. Staff is always super nice as well.

Don't make your customers feel like a burden. And she always puts two napkins in the center of the table even though there are clearly more than two people. You have to get more on your own. Definitely don't ask any questions bc she will be snippy and unhelpful. It's upsetting that they keep someone like this around when it's such a cute, fun place. It's a place you want to being friends/family to, but are embarassed when the service isn't good. She would make more $ in tips if she lost the attitude. The candy counter is great and you can even order candy online to pickup in store. The only thing I would change about the ice cream is the whipped topping used on sundae's, etc. It might be to fit the vintage vibe, but I don't think it tastes good and it always upsets my stomach. I'm someone who loves whipped cream, but not this type. Definitely go for the candy, the cute interior and vintage vibe.

After trying those main items, you can experiment from there with things like cookie crunch, pumpkin spice, loaded potato, or any other number of flavors. The downtown store was still kind enough to allow samples before buying- and I ended up getting several bags for holiday gatherings. Great freshly made product and easy service downtown. Street parking can be a challenge depending on time of day- but the downtown area is pleasant to walk no matter where you end up parking.

I'm a huge fan of anything coconut, so I was thrilled to see this flavor on display. The host was extremely gracious and offered us a sampling of any flavor. Before I noshed on a sample, I mentioned my dairy allergy and the host kindly alerted me to all non-dairy-based flavors. And, to my delight, coconut made the cut! We decided to go with a small tub of half toasted coconut and half cookie explosion. My wife and I are still enjoying the popcorn a week later and plan to revisit Clusters our next time up north! Check out their website at https://www.clusterspopcorn.com and view their sweet and savory flavors - with notes about GF and DF on each option.

In addition to their signature housemade carmelcorn, the shop also specializes in popcorn, fresh roasted nuts, fudge, chocolates, gummies and old-fashioned hard candies. Richard Baskin purchased the shop from the Dohertys in 1985. He in turn sold the shop to husband and wife Tony and Sia Bassil in 1996 and they have owned it ever since. Sia had originally been hired to work behind the counter for the Dohertys in 1977, when she was just 14. She continued to work at the shop, on and off, for several years until she bought it with her husband. My family and I visited The Carmelcorn Shop this past summer while we were visiting relatives in the area. We were exploring Downtown Easton and noticed the storefront. It looked like a really cool place and we were shocked when we saw the sign that read "Since 1931". The shop is pretty small, but it has all sorts of novelty candies. The carmelcorn smelled great! We ended up getting some as well as some old-fashioned candies for our two boys. It's nice to know that there are still old-fashioned candy shops like this still in existence. If you're visiting Downtown Easton, then we recommend that you take a stop at the Carmelcorn Shop for a trip down memory lane.

Instead of being treated like any other customer, I felt singled out and watched in a way that made clear I was being racially profiled. What should have been a normal, pleasant shopping moment instead felt like harassment. I want to be clear: I wasn't doing anything wrong. Looking at merchandise before making a purchase is a completely normal part of shopping, and being treated with suspicion for doing so is not acceptable. It's left a genuinely sour taste in my mouth about visiting this location again. I'll also note that when I asked, staff told me they don't make any candy in-store except for the popcorn.
