Wow... what a difference a decade makes! I think it's one of the most vacant, still operating malls I've seen. Even worse than Parkway Center Mall circa the 1990s and Century III. The Malls of Western PA are on their way out. On one end is Macy's. And there were definitely more people working there than shopping there. The only other store worth going to is probably Dicks on the other end. Don't walk over for Dicks. Definitely drive over if you want Dicks. You can not get into Dicks from the mall. There's big steel door blocking Dicks. You can only get to Dicks from the outside entrance. Now you know, and knowing is half the battle. There's a buffet near the Macy's Mall Entrance too, which really makes everything smell terrible. Think Chinese food left in your car when you go to Glenn's custard, and after you eat the custard and feel good, you get back in your car and it smells like someone farted. So you air out the car and it doesn't quite go away. And you get in the car the next day and you still smell it. It's almost like a hint of hot dog water after you boil hot dogs inside. It's not overpowering, but it's there. Well, that's what this end of the mall smells like. I think people still use it for exercise, but you can get your heart rate up just sitting here alone before closing. Maybe they'll film Night of the Living Dead's 60th anniversary here. This mall IS the living dead, so it's fitting (and local to the OG Living Dead mall). Even the Pittsburgh Pirates are more alive in the post-season run than this mall. The Steel Industry is more alive than this mall. There's a better chance Mario Lemieux will come back and play another season than this mall getting new life. Dennis Bowman and Chester Drawers will come back and do the weather on WPXI before this mall becomes worthy of another visit. If you slipped, and hurt yourself at this mall, sued them, and won, you'd get a Smiley Cookie. What a terrible terrible mall. read more

Why is the Galleria at Pittsburgh Mills even open? I can't tell you. This is one of the deadest malls I've ever seen with at least 80-90% of the interior stores vacant. When you get here, watch driving around as the ring road is in poor condition. Only thing holding on here are the anchors, which include Macy's, GQT Mills Cinemas, Dick's, and MAC.BID, with MAC.BID having no mall entrance. Dick's was not accessible from inside the mall on the day of my visit due to a broken gate. The interior of this mall is gigantic but empty. You can walk for minutes at a time and see nothing but empty storefronts and no other people. It appears that some storefronts were possibly never used. Pittsburgh Mills is very good looking and distinctive as it was only built in the 2000's. The food court is completely empty and most of the seating seems to have been removed. Among the very few positives include New Dimension Comics, which uses three storefronts, and might be the best comic book store in the state. TJ Buffet Sushi And Grill is an above average buffet. There are a handful of other local business, but several were not open during my visit. Citizens School Of Nursing also uses several storefronts. Overall, I don't know how they keep the lights on at the Galleria at Pittsburgh Mills. Most people would have absolutely no reason to come here and there's almost no reason for the interior of this mall to be open. read more

Even with the closing of so many stores inside the mall, we still like going to Pittsburgh Mills Mall. The movie theater is still there and Bed Bath and Beyond as well as Macys and Panera. The reason we still go is the nice play ground for kids. In doors in a cold day gives them a place to play. read more

It's so sad going through the mall now. The majority of the stores, as well as the food court, have closed. We were there for Spirit Halloween and walked around the mall to get in our steps for the day. I hope things will turn around for it. The Pittsburgh Mills Mall is an indoor mall has been dying for years. If you enjoy walking around a mostly empty mall (which sometimes I do enjoy doing!), then I recommend that you visit this mall. Otherwise, if you want to do actual shopping, then I advise that you go elsewhere. Recently in this mall, I have seen tenants such as a Halloween store, Macy's department store, Dick's Sporting Goods, Joann Fabrics, Bath and Body Works, and an Amish furniture store. A few stores sell phones, jewelry, and books. Many storefronts are completely empty. Some empty space has been converted into businesses that are not traditionally seen inside malls, such as a church, a nursing school, and a gym. The mall has an OK physical condition, cleanliness, and safety. read more

Show of hands, how many of you have been to the Mills recently...none, yeah, that's what I thought. I'm not even going to attempt to persuade you to come here. Malls, as a whole, are dying. It is sad to say, but this one is dying a slow, agonizing death. Since my initial review of this place, there have been a lot of changes. Multiple ownership changes, with the mall being purchased for only $100 in 2017 at a foreclosure sale. Now it is owned by some company out of New York which seems to have just let it be the way it was with hopes that it will self correct. So, let's see, I think they said that there are currently around 35 stores open in a mall that is supposed to house many more. The entirety of the food court is vacant, not a single eatery that was there, or moved in after one left, is currently on campus. The only place to eat in the mall that I can think of is Panera Bread. Of the six anchor store locations, only three are in use. It is easier to drive your car to that area instead of walking the mall, some corridors are essentially empty and has a very odd feel about it. The movie theater closed, but there are reports that another movie theater company may soon occupy the space. Some business that have come and gone; technical school, real estate, pet store, etc. If I were to list everything that once occupied a spot in this mall, it would be a very long list. I want to advocate for this mall as it can be a great place to do all your shopping. However, the mismanagement of the companies behind the scenes really helped not only build the coffin, but put all but the final nail in the coffin. They really need a savior, but how to you resurrect this place, or better yet, how do you get this place on the footing it was suppose to have when they initially opened? Sad is an understatement. Hope would be something to reach for here, but I doubt any time soon that will happen. read more

Many moons ago people of our land fought hard for this building to not be put here. It was over wetlands that weren't well researched and very near the Rachel Carson homestead. So it was about 25 years ago and we tried to fight politically. We went to meetings and overall mourned the loss of land for the greed of others. We feared that it would affect the local businesses negatively. We heard only how it would provide jobs. Our fears were warranted and it's a huge failure. The surrounding areas are building back up but evidently the mall charges insane rent so most of the stores are abandoned. They did,in fact, pave paradise and put up a parking lot. read more

This review is limited in scope to the UPMC CoVid vaccine pop up clinic being held in the parking lot of this mall. CoVid 19 vaccine eligibility is now open to all PA residents depending upon minimum age based on vaccine being given. My son had made an appointment last week for one of the drive through clinics and I went with him to see how they handle it. Although this clinic was originally supposed to give the J and J vaccine, with the temporary halt on administering that brand, they substituted Pfizer instead. All scheduled appts are being honored and they are taking "drive (walk) ins" if not previously set up. There are plenty of signs directing you to the main tent where you give your information to check in for the vaccine. After check in your car is redirected to a numbered lane where you drive down and on both sides they have people administering the vaccine. Once my son answered the required questions and provided ID they administered the first dose to him. He was given his vaccination card, literature to read, and a return appt for his 2nd dose. From there we drove to the post waiting area where we were directed into a certain lane of parked cars to wait out the necessary 15 minutes. A volunteer came along with a free tote bag with a few odds and ends and told him what he needed to do in case he had a reaction while on site. There's really no getting out of this line since cars are stopped before and behind you. They did have other lanes doing the same thing. After 15 minutes the line of cars was permitted to move on and with us giving the "thumbs up" we could go on our way. I was impressed with the fact that this event sponsored by both UPMC and the Pittsburgh Penguins was extremely well organized and wait times to get vaccinated was not overly long. UPMC plans to hold another clinic here the next day with the goal of getting 12,000 people vaccinated. I also liked the idea of just sitting in your car without having to get out ("vax and dash" I call it) which made the process go even more smoothly. Look for future clinics with UPMC as they hope to get more people vaccinated. We will return here in 3 weeks for his second dose. read more

I visited the mall when it first opened years ago and recently last week and what a difference!!! I don't how the mall remains open!? Theres hardly any stores !? Walking through I felt like there was apocalypse happening.. it was dead. Not many even shopping. It was sad.. so much potential and charm. I'm the center of the mall in some areas.. cute little seating areas.. vacant.. all vacant. The food court was the most sad - only two vendors remain. I am glad to see the movie theater is still thriving. read more

The Galleria at Pittsburgh Mills is a average mall at best. Which is quite a shame being that it's one of the largest and newest shopping complexes in Western Pennsylvania as well as one of the largest in the state since it opened in July of 2005. I have been to Franklin Mills in Philadelphia and Arundel Mills outside of Baltimore so I was excited when Pittsburgh Mills was announced. I thought that I would have another option other than Grove City for outlet shopping but, it's not a outlet mall like the other "Mills" properties. It's not even owned or managed by the Mills Corporation anymore. It was sold to Zamias Services, Inc in December of 2006. Pittsburgh Mills features almost with 2 million square feet of retail space divided into two parts. The first of these, named the Galleria at Pittsburgh Mills, is the 1,100,000-square-foot mall component of the complex which is divided into five themed neighborhoods corresponding to Pittsburgh landmarks. When the Galleria opened there was so much promise. A indoor/ outdoor go cart track was planned but never opened. There was a Lucky Strikes bowling alley but, it didn't survive. The Borders Books closed. All well before the "Great Recession". It's anchored by Dick's Sporting Goods, Sears Grand, JC Penny's and a below average Macy's. They need a anchor that you can't find anywhere else in the area like a Bloomingdales or to add a second Nordstrom to the area. It's just a regular mall with crappy stores. A lot of which are closed and empty. The food court is pretty bad with no variety what so ever. There are a lot of stores that just make no sense. A grandfather clock store? Really? The only saving grace in the mall is the Cinemark Theater. Why go to this mall when Ross Park is so much better? The second component is an adjacent shopping center called the Village at Pittsburgh Mills. It includes Walmart, Sam's Club, Lowe's Home Improvement Warehouse and Best Buy, many well known restaurants, and a Springhill Suites by Marriott hotel and the very first Sonic Drive-In in Western Pennsylvania. The Village contains a total of 925,000 square feet of retail space. It's almost like a miniature Robinson Town Center . Skip the mall and go to everything else. read more

This is my favorite mall in Pittsburgh to go to when I can't spend money because there is literally nothing worthwhile there to spend it on. It's a huge rectangle and it's set up into four sections of quadrants. This mall is enormous. If you're a mall walker you'll be in heaven. This is the ideal place for you to get your 10,000 steps for sure! It had so much promise! I don't know what happened but it's like a pretty Parkway Center essentially. Yes there is an H&M, Macy's, a Pacsun and JCPenney, but with so many other malls in the region there really isn't a reason to haul yourself out there especially with how the traffic on RT28 is. There is a CineMark inside by the food court so you can at least catch a movie after walking around the mall. To put it like this, you know your mall is in trouble when they put a church inside. read more

It's really sad because this mall is supposedly the 2nd biggest shopping mall in PA but it's like a spooky abandoned mall you see in zombie movies. Even on a Saturday night during Xmas holiday season it's very quiet with sparse customers milling about like somebody died. It's in a "off the beaten path" location in Pittsburgh which doesnt really help attract customers from outside the local area. Quite honestly, if this mall was located in rapidly-growing Cranberry Township near the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex it would be wonderful because Cranberry desperately needs a good mall considering how many affluent people live there. So outside of Macy's and the movie theater there isn't much in this mall. It does have the standard food court fare but you can find Sbarro's and Philly Cheesesteaks in any food court, right? There are some cutey-pie places like a romper room type experience for the little kiddies, and an Escape Room which seems like the current fad which will die out quickly. Overall, this has to be one of the weirdest and saddest places I ever been to. It seems like the investors spent many millions of dollars to build this nice mall but chose a horrible location and bad timing in the age of online shopping and now they're stuck with this big empty building in a big parking lot and nobody shows up. I have been to Pittsburgh Mills for the movie theater before, but Sunday was my first visit to the mall portion of the facility. Upon entering, and walking towards my destination (Kay Jewelers) the first thing I noticed was more then half of the store fronts were vacant. The mall was colorful, bright and clean, but there were so many empty stores! In the brief time I was waiting to be waited on in Kay, I saw mall security go by three times on their segway. It was a little disconcerting to see them go by that often in a fairly short time frame. Hopefully it was because they were bored and not because they were anticipating issues. The food court was also a victim of the vacancy issue. There were three empty stands, two that still had the signage from the previous tenant. On the plus side, there was an asian massage place that essentially charged $1 per minute for massages. I woke up that morning with a stiff neck, so that $20 twenty minute massage was a life saver. Honestly, they seemed to be the busiest place in the mall that day! I do think this would be a great place for a stroll if you are a mall walker or looking for someplace to walk on a rainy day. You could walk freely without worrying about bumping into or bothering any shoppers. It isn't worth a trip to this mall unless you have a specific destination in mind that you can't find elsewhere or are going for a movie. read more

Wow. This mall is horrible. Large for no reason at all. There are only 3 ways to access the parallel side despite how big it is. It was extremely dark and felt eerie here.. Like century 3 for example. It had Macy's, jcpenny, Spencer, journeys, dicks, 1 jewlery store and 2 jewelry pawn shops. Other than that its full of weird random stores. Some stores werent out of business, but the door was shut and locked when we were here at 8pm on a Friday night. Weird honestly. 60% of stores were empty At least the drive here was fun. Oh the sadness this mall brings me. I remember it like it was yesterday. I was in 7th grade when this mall opened and there was finally(!!) a mall close to home- really close! It was great- there were mostly good stores and I enjoyed days just walking the mall. Sure, it was large and hard to get around, but we could all use a little more walking in our lives. Plus, as a middle schooler, walking around the mall with friends was the cool thing to do. I loved that there was a Forever 21, frequented Dairy Queen, and enjoyed shopping at PacSun. Now? All of those stores are gone. Okay, not that I would go to any of those stores as an adult, but still, the theme of "gone" resounds as you walk through the desolate hallways where every other store front is empty. Even the hallways are decently empty during the holiday season, and every season. Don't worry, though, at least there is a large fitness center and a church (???). At least it is a good church, but still. I'm not sure what is going to happen with this mall, but unless you want to go to Dicks or a large department store, you're pretty much out of luck. Positives: There is a theater, and the other parts of the mall area (outside of the mall) include grocery stores, craft stores, restaurants, and more. read more

Yes, there's a shopping mall here, but this is really a retail complex. Because you need your car. The mall itself is fraught with financial woes, has been from the beginning. There are many empty stores. Sears was an anchor with a multi bay full service automobile care center. It's gone, of course. There's Macy's on the other end. Its nice, but when you venture into the mall, there may be a hike to the next occupied store. You'll have your car and you'll need your GPS to negotiate the campus between stores not located in the mall proper (and that is most of them). read more

I'm just traveling through but I needed to go shopping and it's the only mall around. It's really big with lots of parking and a movie theater and a huge gym inside. Probably half the stores are gone but the do have a JC Penney's,Macy's and a Dicks.i guess a lot of seniors walk in circles in the morning the one nice thing is there is lots of chairs in the middle of the walkway the whole way around the mall. There a food court and a Panderas plus an excellent Chinese buffet in the mall. The area right around the mall has lots of fast food and nice restaurants. It's actually pretty nice read more

A tad below average for a shopping mall experience. It's definitely mammoth sized, built in the day when that was considered a good thing and there were enough chains to fill a mall this size. But, now that so many businesses have either consolidated or gone out of business, they'd be hard-pressed to ever fill up every slot in this monstrosity, good times or bad. The positives -- a movie theatre and H&M. Everything else seemed a bit ho-hum. Yes, there's the Macy's, Penney's, jewelry stores, cellular phone stores, etc but, I, for one, would rather go to Waterworks for T.J. Maxx and Marshall's or even head to Monroeville Mall for anything and everything else. read more

Decided to come here for a day trip. All in all it was a fun experience. The mall itself is quite big and can seem maze like at times, especially if you're a first timer. I was surprised at how many empty store fronts there were. There were quite a few for such a big mall. We stopped in the Deb's there and it was fabulous. One of the biggest I've been in and walked away with a lot of fabulous deals! The Sears Grand was a bit of a let down. I felt like I was in a Walmart rather than a Sears and the prices weren't that great. There is a couple different kids play areas that looked fun... For the kids, that is! They'd definitely keep the kids busy for awhile. I can't say I was all that impressed with the food court. Just your basic, run-of-the-mill food court. I'll probably return one of these days. It made for a fun day of shopping. read more

Clean, friendly place with really good coffee and a nice selection of pastries. Helpful staff: I had a minor problem with my Starbucks phone app and they helped solve it quickly and efficiently. This is a small shop with limited seating. There is no restroom, so you have to use the Mall restrooms. Starbucks is located in the Pittsburgh Mills Mall conveniently near the movie theaters. There is also easy access from the parking lot, but there is no drive-through. read more

This mall is close to horrible. Come here if you need to. The anchor stores are nice, but besides that, there are a lot of vacancies which make walking the mall to your favorite store dreary. I'd avoid this place and go to Monroeville mall unless you just need something from the anchor stores. The shoe selection here are horrible. Great dance studios though. read more

This mall has certainly seen it's brighter days when it opened and many stores have left, including borders book store and sears grand (which were two of my favorites), but that's hardly the malls fault. The mall still has life left in it, as there are still anchor stores including Macy's, jc pennies and dicks sporting goods. There's also a few speciality shops there like new dimensions comics (a great store), GameStop and Bradley books. It's also a great place to get some exercise. The movie theater is also a great one. People complain about this place being empty and want more stores, but still do all their shopping online. Take a trip to the mall and support it if you want it to thrive. Sad to see this place gasping for breath. Overall, this mall is clean, spacious, and a good place to tour around with our little one when we have the need for a mall experience. One by one, stores are closing up shop here, though. I remember when Borders went out of business, and we would drive up here to buy lots of their stuff during the liquidation - it's sad that so many other stores are following suit. Whenever we've been, though, it hasn't exactly been a 'ghost town.' It always seems to be full of mall walkers, hordes of teens milling around, and people with little kids, just letting those little ones run around and blow off some steam... Noticed that Sinobi was closed today, too. Looks like it's a sign of more bad things to come. Tip: The movie theaters are awesome - we really enjoy coming here to have our movie nights. This mall is fantastic. The TJ Buffet features a constantly-fresh array of american-asian dishes. There is a theater with untold screens. There are department stores, things for kids, a food court, even a gym! The people who complain about this wonderful place are probably addicted to clutter. read more

Built in 2005, this 2 million square foot leviathan of a mall dwells in the former industrial town of Tarentum, a city 22 miles outside of Pittsburgh. I can recall the fanfare when it first opened, vowing never to set foot inside. Then they had to go and open a comics shop. Free Comic Book Day. And the new Thor movie happened to be playing at their Cinemark theater. Before we knew it, Kay and I were on the Turnpike, bound for the Mills. My problems with this mall are as follows... 1) Just as it had been reported in the local media, many of the storefronts are empty, closed off by curtains with sayings from Andy Warhol and other notables on them. 2) It's a little hard to find your way around this one-floor complex. Almost maze-like, you'll see a place you want to check out later, but you won't be able to find it when you want to go back, and before you know it, you will be walking in circles. I was wondering when the Minotaur was going to show up. 3) Many of the stores are redundant. There are 2 ice cream parlors (a Dairy Queen and something akin to Cold Stone Creamery called Marble Slab Creamery), 3 toy stores, 6-7 shoe stores, 5 cell phone stores, 2 massage parlors (uh-ohhhh), oodles of jewelry peddlers, and I think you get the idea by now. There are the obligatory businesses like GNC, Sears, Spencer's, Hot Topic, Victoria's Secret, PacSun, an arcade, 2 Auntie Anne's (I wish I was fibbing), a JC Penney alongside such oddities as Glow In The Dark Golf and...a church???? About the church, I kid you not. It was fairly happening, though. Packs of teenagers with braces, iPhones, jeans that were either too tight or too big for them, and hairstyles people will laugh at a decade from now inhabit the Mills, snickering, whispering, wandering around, and not buying anything save for a snack of cheesy bacon fries to divvy up 3 ways. Century III Mall sayeth on its deathbed, "Pittsburgh Mills, I am your father." Ross Park Mall sayeth with a martini in one hand, a cigarette in the other, a fur coat on her shoulders, a rasp in her voice, and an ego the size of Rodeo Drive, "Oh please." P.S. The movie didn't end until after midnight, making our trip out of the barren mall and parking lot amusingly eerie, the recent rain and warm temperatures creating a fog that seemingly escorted us home. read more

I love The Mills! It's really a beautiful mall. If you look closely at the ceiling art you will see all of Pittsburgh represented. The most prominent being the bridges. There are a lot of cute little places here but you also get some anchor stores like Macy's. They have a Philip Pelusi's, eye docs, and even a church! We frequent the amazing Imax theater! There is a gym called Pittsburgh legends that is like a giant complex. They have a basketball area for kids, mini golf, a giant recreational area where you climb obstacles, and a trampoline. I love the food choices. Starbucks, Panera, Asian buffet, FroYo, pizza oven, Charlies, Subway, KFC, Taco Bell, Johnny Rockets, and Holihans. They also have all of the cute kids stores like kids Gap, Justice and the Childrens Place. I think there is room for a lot more. It's a great alternative to the scary Monroeville Mall! read more

I remember when this mall was under construction and everyone in the area had high expectations for what was promised to be a state-of-the-art mall with high profile anchor tenants. What started with great promise 8 years ago has morphed into a pure embarrassment. The site was better as a landfill - and served a more noble purpose. Essentially there is no reason to walk into this place. None. Unless of course you're part of the "golden sneakers" old folks walking club looking to get out of the weather. But if you're looking for shopping? Forget it. The Macy's is a joke - it's basically a Macy's mini me. Small and an afterthought with little to offer. The mall layout is absurd - you can't get from one side of the mall to the other except in select places - after you pass empty store front upon empty store front. Poor arrangement to be sure. OK, they DO have a reasonable DIck's sporting goods but it is an outpost location at the edge of the mall. Most of the initial tenants have folded leaving a skeleton of a mall. I work a mile away from here and had looked forward to an occasional lunchtime excursion but, alas, when I go now to kill time I'm probably the only one there. Won't be long till its back as a landfill. read more

Soooo......It was just a few years ago that this mall opened, and it is already looking to be moving toward Dead Mall status. They failed to replace Linens and Things, or the Borders when they went out of business and there have been a growing number of empty store fronts. I will say though that the movie theater is probably the key anchor and the reason that anyone even comes here for the limited shopping that is done in this mall. It's sad that this place never took off more or found a niche for itself. read more

OK, boys and girls - you'll find that making fun of "old" folk mall walkers ends when you (hopefully) become one. Then you'll appreciate this vast, clean, warm and underutilized facility for its availability to help us keep fit. Seriously, seldom when my wife and I walk do we not visit AND make some sort of purchase from coffee to clothes regardless of which mall we're using. It might not be much but it's something and don't forget the "decoy" factor. My wife and I constantly wonder why the developer doesn't encourage more warm bodies to enjoy their facility even if they're initial reason to visit was to "just walk." I think it's a better idea than, in embarrassing desperation, filling empty space with 15 year old used cars from beaters to Benzes -- who does this? read more

Don't get me wrong, I'm love going to malls, so this review has nothing to do with an underlying hatred for crowds of people mindlessly spending money on things they will forget about in 48 hours. I frequent the Mill's cinema because it is a great facility with enough seats to spread yourself out (seat for Coat, seat for Bag, seat for Elise, seat for Popcorn), but the mall itself is just plain depressing. My fiancé and I spent the day counting the number of open stores (+/- 15) versus vacant or closed spaces (+/- a zillion). In a nutshell, the owners of the Galleria should take off their rose glasses and realize that their mall is a haven for grandparents who prefer to spend the day pawning their sprouts off on the PetLand puppies (since, ya know, that is the only store getting any action). Also, it's a sauna in there, so bring a swimsuit or something. read more

I commented my dissatisfaction with what this mall has turned into, and they deleted my comments and blocked me. No obscene language was used in my part, but it was deleted for pointing out the facts. This mall can't keep stores. It has 4 restaurants in the food court. Security harasses everybody. And it was auctioned off for a literal $100 because it was doing so poorly. read more

This isn't my shopping venue of choice as that notable mention will always go to Ross Park Mall (2 woots on that)!!! It's not far from work and like the fact that Sam's Club and many other outlying stores are nearby making it easy to kill a couple birds with one stone. This place isn't all that bad but it just doesn't have a good flow to it not feel all that welcoming. JC Penney, Macy's and Sears are the big name department stores setting up shop here and they're spread out so you can get a little cardio in while making the trek from one to the next. On the restaurant tip, there is a Houlihan's which is laid out fairly nice and a burger joint....Johnny Rockets? I think? Sorry, never tried it and can't remember the name (I'm a lil old). There's also a nice size food court and a movie theatre in there. Parking has never been a problem and it's usually easy to find a good spot. It's also well lit at night making it fairly easy to see your vehicle as well as others for safety. Why 3 stars? I feel as though 2 isn't fair and 4 is a stretch. I've purchased something on almost every visit and usually find good deals, but then again....I always find good deals!!! Will I visit again? Yes. Will I go out of my way? It's highly unlikely. This is a really clean mall and seems nice. I think the reason it is so clean and nice is because there are so few stores. It seems that at least 50% of the storefronts of vacant. The anchors are a JC Penny, a Sears Grand (whatever that is), a movies theater, and a Dicks Sporting Goods. The remainder of the stores are a mix of standard mall stores and then some strange local type stores that are likely next in line to join the vacant store front. This mall is one of my least favorite malls to shop at. Many of the stores are empty. Avoid going there at night on the weekends because it turns into a preteen drop off center. read more

A typical mall that seems bigger than in necessary, BUT there are some good stores in here that we like to stop in at - New Dimension Comics in particular. Our cousins attend Riverside Community Church, and I think they have been creative in utilizing the space in such a big place. read more

This mall is just so bad. There are very minimal stores and very few open and I can't imagine that the ones are there are doing very well. It's super eerie when you're there because there are very few other people shopping. It's unfortunate because the mall itself is beautiful and could have so much potential but it just fell flat. Save yourself the time and head to one of the other malls in the area. read more

This a fantastic mall really nice but it's at least half empty? I'm not sure what happened here but this used to be a great place to come shopping. I remember when they opened the mall I lived less then 10 minutes away it was great packed full of cool stores. Just the out lots needed built and it was done. Well I moved away before the that happened and then I came back to the state last year and took a trip over to check out the "finished" product and was saddened at what I saw with the mall. The out lots are probably better then the mall itself, they need a new owner or something to get more stores in here. The mall is still well kept and clean but it's eerily empty so if your looking for Dicks or Macy's head over but I cannot recommend spending the day at this mall as it will take some time to walk around but you'll have almost no stores to go in. I was just in The Galleria at Pgh Mills last night. I'd estimate more than 50% of the stores were either vacant or closed. There were very few people wandering the halls and even fewer actually in the stores. I hadn't been to the mall in 6 months (and I live five minutes from there) and was even more disappointed and depressed. After about 4 minutes of walking toward my destination, I finally passed a fellow "shopper" who absolutely wreaked of marijuana. Classy! I wondered every time I passed one of stores that were actually open, how they could possibly stay in business. It's sad that such a large and good looking mall could have such issues. I'm still in disbelief that the mall even bothers to stay open. So what's new from the last time I was there: There's a new store that sells all kinds of "smoking devices". There was a new "Dance School" and a "Dollar Store" with a bunch of random dragon statues that were priced well above $1.00. The Amish Furniture store was not open at the time but did have a sign on the window say to "Like us on Facebook". Nice to see that the Amish now have the Internet! Sear's Grand closing, they're down one anchor store as well. In the mall's defense, there could have been more, but I only walked about 1/3 of the way around. I did walk past the "Information Booth" because I'd considered asking how much longer the mall would remain open, but (not to my surprise) it was vacant as well. read more

Wow, what an odd mall. In my head, there is always sad, bumbling tuba music serenading me as I walk through here. This place is ginormous, and I think it actually has a really nice layout (one big circular loop), but soooo many storefronts are empty. It seems like such a waste of space. Compared to other crowded malls in the area (Ross Park, Robinson), there are just no shoppers here. And I can see why....there really isn't much shopping to be had. The anchor tenants are small Penney's, Dick's, and Macy's stores (the Sears just went out of business), with a smattering of other businesses throughout. There are a bunch of totally random things in this mall, like ITT tech, a gymnastics place, an indoor soccer field, a charter school, a church.....which, I mean, I guess it's good that they're using the space? But it's not exactly going to be drawing shoppers. The movie theater is about the only part of the mall that I see have any significant activity in it. Well that, and the Auntie Anne's pretzel shops...it's interesting that the mall hardly has any businesses left, but somehow there is enough demand to support TWO Auntie Anne's pretzels. Only in 'Murica. ;) I will say that although this mall is pretty much on life support, they do a nice job with the upkeep. It's beautifully decorated, clean, and they cover the empty storefronts with murals or artsy curtains (much nicer to look at than metal gates). So they're not letting it deteriorate physically, even if economically it is going down the tubes. As I mentioned, this mall does have a really nice circular layout that's a little under a mile all the way around. As such, it's a great place to come for some exercise. Yes, I have been known on occasion to join the oldsters for some mall walking (hey, when it's 0 degrees outside and you can't bear another minute on the treadmill, this isn't a bad option!) :) So come for your mall walking, go elsewhere for your shopping. read more
