Roger and his crew did an incredible job with a large backyard landscaping project. They executed every single aspect of the work beautifully from redoing the entire drainage and sprinkler system to leveling a huge patch of uneven ground to installing fresh sod to planting and training each new flower/vine/tree to grow as intended. They also built new raised planters, fencing and pool equipment covers from scratch. I also want to point out that Roger himself was a pleasure to work with. He was extremely knowledgeable and proactive in finding solutions for any small or large unforeseen issues that came up during the project. We couldn't be happier with him and his crew's work! read more

My beautiful front yard transformation was recently completed by Pitkin Landscape & Design. Brad Gore of Gore Planning, Inc. designed the blueprint & recommended Roger Pitkin & his team to bring the blueprint to life. I am 110% satisfied with my decision to follow Brad's advice & select Pitkin Landscape & Design. Roger & his team are CONSUMMATE PROFESSIONALS. A neighbor knowledgeable in many aspects of landscape construction, informed me that in his observation of the work performed on my yard, Pitkin Landscape & Design exhibited OUTSTANDING WORK PROCESSES throughout the entire project & did not cut corners...attached pics tell some of the story. THANK YOU Roger, Humberto, Kevin, Russell & Armie for making this "water-wise" landscape journey a wonderful experience well worth my investment! read more

Pitkin Landscape & Design recently completed a transformation of our front yard from basic grass to a professional looking desert scape. This was the second project that Pitkin Landscape has done for us using a design from Gore Planning. This team works very well together and we are very pleased with the results. They completed our back yard project six years ago and it still looks very good. We would use them again if we had another yard to design. read more

Most importantly, he pays attention to every little detail and was always one step ahead of me. Him and his crew are fantastic at what they do. Roger and his team were such professionals and very experienced in all areas of landscape installation. He's a very honest and reliable owner and his team work hard. I was lucky to find him via Brad Gore at Gore Planning. I had a pretty complicated design with sod removal, new pathways, stone and gravel work. My 2 fountains broke and he completed redid them for a very reasonable price. Highly recommend him as my 1st installation company was very lacking. Worth every penny. read more

Being new home owners, working long hours from home, and when finally feeling like you have a moment to relax, only to look out at an unfinished backyard, always felt like there was still a bit of chaos in our world. It honestly has brought such peace to our day looking out at our amazing yard and enjoying our space that much more! We were introduced to Roger by our landscape designer, Brad Gore. Roger met with us on one of Brad's appointments and let us know a start date. He also called the week before to let us know they would be coming out to start the beginning stages of our design. Roger's crew were friendly, worked incredibly hard, and it really shows the level of craftsmanship and care they put into our yard. Roger was such a help during the process and let us know what to expect each week of work. He was even able to help us with small changes in our deign to better suit our yard. He was always so willing to chat with us and gave me some excellent suggestions on fall/winter garden planting. Upon completion Roger walked through our finished yard and answered any questions on how to use our drip system, lighting, and plant care. Roger really set us up to be able to help this yard flourish and use our garden for years to come! The knowledge he has on the plants and how to care for them has been such a help. We are so excited to have our own space to enjoy! Roger and his team will always have our top recommendation! read more

We've used Pitkin Landscape twice now and both times Roger has been great. The first job was a custom pergola and deck which was more than fairly priced and completed on time in a professional manner. Now we are having a paver walk way and seating area installed in the front and were given another more than fair price. Roger explained exactly what the job entailed, offered expert suggestions to our overall idea, and spoke competently and politely in his assuaging of any concerns we had. We definitely would recommend them and will be using Pitkin Landscape and Design for future projects. read more

Roger Pitkin works with a designer named Brad Gore. It is a partnership that allows Roger to focus on each project one at a time. While the design was great, the job presented Roger with significant challenges. His experience and creativity allowed him to come up with great solutions for each challenge. Communication with him was great and the work and quality of the plants was excellent. Now I have a yard that was transformed into a beautiful, low maintenance yard that uses much less water. I highly recommend Pitkin Landscape! read more

We were looking to do a significant amount of work on our yard. We currently are sitting on 12K sq-ft and wanted to add a retaining wall that stretched from the front yard, through the side yard, and went all the way to the end of our back yard. We were also looking to increasing our driveway, relocating our sprinkler system, increasing our front porch & walkway, and convert to a more drought resistant type of landscape. When we found Pitkin and read the reviews, I had thought I had found the perfect company to partner with. Unfortunately, this was the beginning and the end of the honeymoon with Pitken landscape. I called and talked to the owner (Roger) and described what I wanted done. He told me that this was right up their alley and would have his estimator call me back and schedule an appointment. The estimator called, and we schedule an appointment. Now, both my wife and I work and we both wanted to be there, so we scheduled it as late as we could. But my wife still needed to take some time off to make the appointment. On the day of the appointment, I got a call 1-hour before we were to meet and was informed by the estimator that he needed to reschedule. He never called back. Calls to both him and Roger were never returned. So, my wife burned vacation time to meet with them and they never showed. Sorry, but if I can't trust you to keep your appointment and to call me back, how can I trust you with my home and so much Money. You must be really busy to be able to blow people off like you do. read more

We were put in contact with Roger through Landscape Designer Brad Gore. Although we had to wait several months for Roger to become available to bring Brad's design to life, it was well worth the wait. Roger's crew showed up every day, Monday through Friday, until our job was completed. They were professional, kept a clean worksite, and finished ahead of schedule. Roger kept in communication with us throughout the process and was easy to reach if we had questions. We are delighted with the results and highly recommend both Roger Pitkin and Brad Gore. read more

We hired Brad Gore to draw up the landscaping plans for the entire property, which were done in extreme detail and with a precise drawing. With plans in hand, I then solicited bids from a number of landscaping outfits, including Roger Pitkin. Roger's bid was neither the highest nor the lowest, but his knowledge and easy-to-work-with attitude won me over. They did a great job. Roger's crew paid close attention to the planting plan, and everything was planted (almost) exactly as called for on the plan. Planting was done in January, 2017 (amid heavy rains), and then really grew fast in the spring. By late August, most things were doing well, but a few plants appeared to be dying off. Roger came by and helped adjust the watering which solved the problem. But what really separates Roger from the competition is the pride he takes in his work, and his dedication to customer satisfaction. Case in point: we had a number of plants that were supposed to grow 4-6 feet high and serve as a hedge along a fence. The plants that were planted were spreading laterally, but not growing in height. My guess is that Roger inadvertently picked up a dwarf variety. While lovely plants, they were just never going to grow into a screening hedge. Long story short, after 18 months of failing to grow taller, I called Roger and told him my sad story. His response was, "How many plants do you need?" Now this is 6 months beyond his 12-month warranty. How's that for customer service? Pitkin Landscaping - simply the best of the best. Thanks, Roger! read more

It has always been a pleasure working with such a talented contractor and all around great guy like Roger and his amazing crew. Brad and Rodger are truly a class act! When we set out to transform our backyard into a functional living space for our family we had a few ideas, but definitely could not put our ideas into a seamless and cohesive plan. Brad provided plans that captured everything we where looking for and Rodger was able to bring our backyard to life. We were also pleased that throughout the project Rodger welcomed input and was willing to add and change small details to our liking. We heard great things about Gore Planning and Pitkin Landscape and Design and they exceeded our expectations! We will definitely go back to them when we are ready to transform our front yard. read more

I called this company to get a price to remove a 2" layer of dirt from a 8x20 section of my front yard then put down a weed barrier and two inches of Decomposed granite. He said it would be roughly $2000. I figured he might be confused on the size of the job so I explained it to him again and told him my last quote was for $600. He told me "I can do it for a little less than the $2000 but nothing close to $600, good luck"...click. Wow, thats it? You just hang up? He might do good work but ill never know. read more

Over the years we've had three new homes landscaped and this is by far the best. Roger and his crew are very professional and polite. I just ran into Rodger at a local bakery and it reminded me how much we love and use our backyard. It's been almost 2 years since it was completed and it's really held up and matured well. I'm really glad he recommended the drainage system because even in the rare torrential downpour, water never pools up. I'd highly recommend Pitkin landscape and design! read more

Last year Roger and his team put in a beautiful patio and hard cover, built me 3 planter boxes, an arbor as well as landscaping the yard from dirt. Everyone comments on how beautiful our yard is. Roger is back this year for a couple small projecst including a rock wall and spring planting. He is easy to work with, even takes me shopping at the nursery with him. He is honest and very trustworthy. We gave him the key to our gate. He know his plants and works to help you find just what you'll like that will grow well in the area. I would never use anyone but him and highly recommend him for all your landscape needs. He is amazing! read more

We worked with Brad Gore and Roger Pitkin to re-do our front yard. Brad put together a beautiful design after listening carefully to our needs and wants. Roger executed the installation quickly. We found Roger Pitkin and his crew while they were working on a neighbor's yard, and then saw another property down the street he'd done. Both homeowners had very positive experiences with the company. We went to see Roger's "book" at J and W Lumber in Murrieta (where he later bought the cedar timbers for our ramada) and were impressed. Roger specializes in patios, wood patio covers and landscaping. The project is done, we are thrilled, and our old, unusable backyard is now more beautiful than we could have imagined, and we're out there using it every day. What worked for us: Roger worked closely with us through the entire design and project approval (for Harveston community), and then remained flexible as we inevitably made changes to the original design. Roger came in under budget (not counting changes we added). Every week gave us a clear accounting of what had been done, spent, and changed. He and his crew showed up every day between 8 and 8:30a, and finished the job quickly. (We had heard bad stories from neighbors about landscapers that did poor jobs or didn't show up or finish.) Roger's experience showed up everywhere, from details around drainage and irrigation to how to work with different types of soil and plants. He has a creative eye, and understands proportion and shape. They are also a group of really nice, honest people who are a pleasure to have around. read more

We hired Brad Gore and Roger Pitkin to do the landscape design and installation of our entire property (a new build). We were living out of state during the early stages of the job and Brad made the communication process so easy. He listened to what we wanted - incorporating plants that I wanted into the design but also making other suggestions when climate issues made certain plants not a good choice. His suggestions were always spot on. He came in on budget and always met deadlines. Once the design was completed, Roger took over and began the installation. Roger was wonderful to work with. His crew was professional and polite - showing up each and every day ready to work. Roger was also on site each day - he was always available to discuss anything with us and when asked, made some specific plant suggestions when I wanted to add some climbing roses to the design. While Brad's design was followed very closely, if he felt that a slight modification might be necessary, he made sure that he discussed it with us and we were then able to make a decision. The job was just completed and our yard looks just beautiful. I can't wait to watch it as the plants mature. Brad and Roger are a terrific team. I agree with another reviewer when he said that it's not often that you work with contractors that are not only knowledgeable and also responsible...It was a pleasure working with both Brad & Roger... we highly recommend both of them. read more

We connected with Roger Pitkin through our landscape architect, Brad Gore, and could not be happier with the beautiful new backyard he created for us. Roger was professional and extremely responsive to all of our questions and requests throughout the process. Roger was able to schedule the work to be completed a month ahead of what was initially promised and even added in a few additional plants not originally in the plan at no extra charge when we felt the design looked a little sparse. Roger was patient with our two year old daughter who was often very noisy during our meetings and he also accomodated a request to pour a section of concrete at a time when it was convenient for us to push in our hand prints! We thoroughly enjoyed working with Roger and would definitely utilize him for future projects! read more

Roger Pitkin just installed a large patio at my house in Temecula. He put in pavers, rock wall trim on the house walls, low seating walls, a fountain, a gate, retaining walls, a wall to hide equipment, lighting and electric and patio covers. It was a big project. I considered contractors who gave me less expensive bids but decided not to risk any lack in quality. Roger Pitkin does quality work for sure. He gave me a date to commence and was here for that date. He had his men working every day according to a design by Brad Gore, a very good designer. They followed the plan and only made modifications when needed or when I requested but there were very few. I had objects I wanted to include and they worked them into the design beautifully. I am amazed at the end product, also at the clean up of materials. Roger was available frequently and if I had questions he would come up with the answers in a very timely manner. He was kind to people working around my yard, volunteering to pick up equipment for them if they needed, giving them pointers on how to install the drip system, even lending them some of his equipment so they did not have to stop work. He speaks Spanish fluently which helps. He was very personable and sensitive to my requests. I can't say enough to praise Roger and his men. You just rarely find contractors who deliver such quality and are so responsible today. He has come back to take care of some minor problems that he was able to fix and I know in the future he will fix problems should they occur in any part of his work. The outcome is just beautiful. If you want outstanding work, call Roger. read more

We used Brad Gore (found him online) to design a complete overhaul of both our front and back yards, as we've lived in our home for over ten years and were finally ready to go for a big change (goodbye huge lawn!). We explained to Brad that we were looking for a process that was seamless between the designer and the landscape contractor because we didn't have time to put in a lot of work day-to-day in the implementation of the plan. We wanted someone who we could hand Brad's plan to and they would make it exactly come to fruition in a timely, professional, and detail-oriented way. Brad recommended Roger Pitkin, and our experience with Pitkin Landscape and Design turned out to be exactly what we were hoping for. He and his team showed up exactly when promised and worked hard everyday (I was at home most days so I can attest to their work ethic) from early morning until afternoon. Roger was on site for at least a portion of most days if not the entire day, and was always very available via text for any issues or questions that arose. I felt very comfortable coming to him with any new ideas or issues during the process because he was patient, flexible, and knowledgeable. His team followed the plan well and were accommodating to changes that we brought up (it's not easy to envision what a design plan will actually look like when it is in your yard, so there were times when we made changes through no fault of either Brad or Roger - just us being indecisive!). Roger's team was a pleasure to work with, very polite, clean and hard-working - and my assurances that this makes a very big difference when you are sharing your living space with a crew for six weeks! Every single day they left the worksite as clean and well-organized as possible, something that we and especially our neighbors greatly appreciated! Our yard has turned out exactly as we've hoped, and we have already hosted so many get-togethers outside - it has extended our living space enormously and we're more often outside than inside these days. Since completing the project about three weeks ago, Roger has continued to be available to us with any questions we have. Just today he came over to replace a rose bush that wasn't doing well. Even though he explained it was just in shock due to the heat wave and would recover, he replaced it anyway to make sure we were pleased with the result. Fantastic customer service. We highly recommend Roger and his team and would happily provide more info to anyone considering them. read more
