Disappointed. Projected RE capital gains on rental to residence. I wanted to get an independent estimate on my projection for long term capital gains. I had done cap gains earlier on other properties however not sure how laws had now changed. Senior citizen return. No changes from last return which was given to them. They were given all pertinent data on house including a spreadsheet with original purchase date, amount, projected sales amount, costs, depreciation taken, basis, etc. All they needed to do is plug in the data and adjust for the current laws. They initially charged $250 retainer (1 hour fee). Felt 1 hour was sufficient for the difficulty. Just received another bill for $250 which means they are stating they took 2 hours or $500 to do this estimate. Even when I was working and doing Schedule C, 5 properties on Schedule E and a Schedule A residence it took less than 2 hours. Since it took them 2 hours I now question their ability and will neither use them in the future nor recommend them. read more

Tyler is a nice enough person to your face but his fees are high for someone that is moon lighting as a tax accountant in his spare time from his job at Amazon. The address that was given, brought us to his home and our meeting was conducted in what appeared to be a spare room. We needed someone to help us with a tax extension and after a 30 min meeting, couple phone calls and emails he had us owing a ton of money. Luckily we finally got in contact with our old accountant. He still kept our $100 deposit even though he never filed the extension and didn't do any work for us. Due to his inexperience the $100 deposit he kept is nothing compared to what I would have paid in taxes if he did them. I'll keep my seasoned tax accountant with knowledge in more than just WA basic filing. My accounting summary: 2 star limited face time + 0 star for actual tax service done and kept my deposit = equals 1 star. read more
