I love getting the bowls with their various pickled veggies for the contrast in tastes. Dolma is delicious, the kebabs are delicious, the fries loaded with deliciousness are in fact delicious, and the prices for all dishes are very reasonable. Food can take a little longer, but only because the food is cooked fresh to order and not sitting in a metal container overcooking. Their pitas are stuffed to a brim with toppings and meat, and I could eat their hummus all day every day. Every time we come to San Marcos I have to try to force myself to try something new - it's hard, but we always find ourselves back at Halal Project happily full every time.

As is often the case, the reviews of both locations were accurate. The portions were meager for the price point and I was unimpressed with the service. The cashier added on sauces to each sandwich at a whopping $1 each. "Do you want the sauce on the side?" I wrongly assumed this meant as rather than on the sandwich it was in a cup. Nope, it was an extra cup of unnecessary sauce with that up charge. In addition to being the cashier, she also prepped the raw chicken into batter. However, I didn't not see her wash her hands after cash handling, or washing them after the chicken and returning to the register. Being short handed is one thing, but this is a food safety concern.
