Pitacasso, why I have waited until my last twelve days in Spain to check you out? I have walked past your unassuming exterior many, many times (you don't even really have a sign) and I had only ever seen people drinking beer so I didn't realize that you had an extensive menu inside, and I never expected delightful, tasty, fresh food.
But today, oh today, I finally ventured in and sampled a little bit of everything - the extraordinary hummus (served warm with wedges of soft pita), the falafel with the best tahini I've ever tasted, the mediterraneo (a warm pita stuffed with feta, olives, tomato, and lettuce), and the hamburger pita (mini burgers in a warm pita stuffed with diced tomatoes and onions and tahini). Everything - and I mean everything - I sampled was absolutely amazing. This is now my new favorite lunch spot in the 'hood. Added points for reasonable prices, prompt wait service, and a friendly staff.
Lunch for two (4 items, 1 drink - way more than we needed!) came to 15Euros.
Tips:
1. Pitacasso has funny lunch hours. Apparently it's normally open for lunch Tu-Sun, but since it's December, it's also open Monday (if you've spent any time in Sevilla, you probably know that figuring out when things are open is a tough endeavor!).
2. It's quasi-autoservicio. Order at the counter. The waitress will bring you your food. Pay at the counter. read more
