We had come here on a Saturday morning at around 11:15 am for an early lunch. I had settled on the…read moreveal with cheese and sauce on a bun, and boy, was I glad that I did! This sandwich was definitely made from someone who knows how to cook Italian. The pieces of veal were thick, and tender; with the cheese melted all over, and sauce lathered on top of the veal. The bread was fresh, and tasty; definitely a very well-made sandwich! To be honest, I would have liked for the bread to be crunchier however, that is just my personal preference. In terms of the atmosphere, it was a small shop, with some seating in the front, and more in the back. This place is more for take-out therefore, the seating isn't the most comfortable, and it is dark in terms of the lighting. We did see other individuals coming in to dine as well therefore, there were a few of us in the restaurant at the same time. Service was top-notch, with the lady behind the counter bringing the food quickly, and asking us if we enjoyed everything once we had finished.

I asked for a bun and cheese and they gave me attitude like they were doing a favor to charge me extra. It was not a language barrier. Pasta was fresh and good but veal was dry and not hot. Chicken was just ok. Will not return. For $100 to feed 4 ppl, I'll keep driving to Etobicoke to Mama Martinos.

It has a traditional, homemade feel that makes it stand out from chain spots. The bagel breakfasts and knishes are incredibly satisfying -- fresh, hearty, and full of flavor. It's the kind of spot that quietly becomes part of your routine. If they ever added an espresso machine, it would take things to the next level, but even as it stands, this place is one of my all-time favourites. Highly recommend it if you're in the area and want something authentic and quick.

This restaurant seems to be a more varied and upscale version of Portuguese style roasted chicken. So if you compare it to those places, which are incredibly affordable, it's a bit more expensive. But it's still really good value. For $42 you get one whole chicken with your choice of flavour, three large sides, coleslaw, one large sauce and four cans of pop (not sure if this has changed since we went). You do have to pay more for the upgraded sides. Overall, the quality and quantity of the chicken, sides and sauce is very good. Chicken was moist and while the flavour wasn't the most impressive, the sauce made up for it. They also sell salads and sandwiches. There are a lot of options. My only suggestion is to give yourself time and to order ahead online. This is not a pre-made hot table place. We were told it would take about 20 minutes to get our chicken meal when we order at the restaurant.
