The most well known area is Natural Bridges Viewpoint which sits just 1 mile down the road. To discover Arch Rock, you walk a short pathway from the parking lot to an observation lookout. Its unique shaping can be recognized in the distance from the shoreline. According to Patrick Mueller of outdoorproject.com, "Arch Rock is a massive natural rock standing alone in the Pacific Ocean". Viewing it from high above epitomizes Oregon's rugged coastline resiliency. Years of pounding waves and natural erosion created a distinctive arch within the rock. It's a fine example which displays nature's true power and force. Arch Rock Viewpoint offers a worthwhile picture chance when the sun's reflections illuminates colorful green tones from the surrounding waters. In total, you can spend 20 minutes enjoying the moment and basking in fresh air from strong Pacific Ocean winds. Also if interested, there's a picnic area and hiking access to the Coastal Trail according to the Arch Rock Point entrance sign. One extra note to speak about...when returning back to the parking lot from the viewpoint area, the right hand side of the walkway had a good opportunity to absorb more vintage Oregon coastline perspectives. With giant rocks spread among a pristine ocean point setting, the surroundings never get old. On a larger scale, it reinforces the beauty exploring the great outdoors and a gentle reminder to never take things for granted.

Several campers shared with us that they felt like they were walking on egg shells during their stay. General concensus it that it was/is due to the power trip/uptight owner. Guests worrying about if their chair leg or other might be set in a forbidden area, right next to their rig etc. Being grass obsessed is one thing. Known to berate people out on a whim is another deal. Geez, tone it down a bit and give people some space to relax. Pros: *Super quiet *Staff helps guide rigs in to park. *Probably not great for kids. *Beautiful location on the river. *Bathrooms; very clean. *Prices are reasonable. *Decent wifi. *Owner pays attention to keep the riff raff out. Cons: *Gravel spots. *Super small patios that are heaving which could lead to twisted ankles exiting rigs. (Request to owner: Remove some of the lawn and improve patio size, this much needed improvement would also use less water and allow patio furniture more space). *Uptight guy owner. *Many deer hazards on the road to town.

Eureka! Not just…read morethe California state motto, but a state of mind. As the Gold Rush extended into Oregon, the small town of Ellensburg changed its name to Gold Beach in 1890. It was an acknowledgment of all the gold strikes in the area. Plus, it was good marketing. Normally I'm not a fan of rocks on a beach, but these were beautiful. Too bad they weren't gold nuggets, but some of them glowed so brilliantly white it was almost spooky. Gold Beach is where the Rogue River meets the Pacific Ocean and it is a sleepy little town. The beach was similarly tranquil and rugged. This is not Seaside. No boardwalk and no restaurants lined up on the beach. Be prepared to self entertain and bring your picnic basket. A good place for beach combing and building forts out of driftwood. On our walk to the beach from our hotel, we were surrounded by deer casually roaming the area. Wildlife reigns supreme in this little corner of Oregon and I'm sure the animals outnumber the people. Gold Beach ended up being kind of a blissful refuge from the world. This beach doesn't necessarily have the wow factor and dramatic views of some other coastal towns, but peace and quiet can be very nice things every now and again.
