Our boat guy was fun, stopped to give us details of a places as we were passing by. He made sure to point out all sorts of wildlife - egrets, deer, eagles, baby ducks. We were all delighted! There are part of the ride that will feel bumpy. If you don't want to be drenched wear a poncho or waterproof jacket and hat. I wish I knew that in advance! We were lucky with nice weather for the day though.

September 5, 2025. We've done Jerry's Rogue River jet boat ride a few times now. Normally they don't allow dogs, so that tends to be a limiting factor for us. However, on this particular day, there was a special cruise up the river that allowed dogs. It was actually part of a larger corgi dog event that was happening at the RV park we were staying at. When we found out about it, we signed up. Our little pup loved the boat ride, kinda like a dog who likes to stick his head out the window, ears blowing back, when you're driving down the road. I had a firm grip on her though, and she wasn't going anywhere. You get to see a lot of great wildlife and beautiful wild land scenery.

Family fun in Oregon! We did the white water tour and it was great! The weather wasn't the best, but we made the best of it. I would recommend a poncho and lots of layers. Lunch was delicious and a great little break from the cold.

What a wonderful day! We finally got away for a long Memorial Day weekend to celebrate our anniversary. Happy we arranged a tour with Jerry's. It's just what we needed. We seriously feel like we came back to life after dealing with our day to day routine for so long. The fresh cool air, being on the water, seeing wild life and enjoying the commentary and company of our Pilot, Andy. We saw bald eagles, egrets, turtles, ducks and ducklings, sea lions, and deer. The sky was a beautiful clear blue. Just an exhilarating day! We did spins on the water and even sat and listened to the sound of quiet. Lunch at Cougar Lane Lodge at Agness was perfect. The office staff was professional and welcoming. I wouldn't hesitate with suggesting you take a tour.

Scenic views at every turn. Sit in first row for unobstructed picture taking, and the ability to control how wet you get

This was such a great experience. It's worth doing more than once. Our tour guide was a seasoned 20+ year veteran, starting out with Mail Jet Boats, which was subsequently bought out by Jerry's Rogue Jets. Excellent storyteller, sharing many facts about the history of the river which included his family as well as commentary on the flora and fauna. And the tour itself is not just a leisurely calm ride up river it's interspersed with spins splashes, and just downright fun. Unfortunately, I don't recall our guide's name but he's definitely the one to captain your tour if you can get him. Just like Sonoma County, dress in layers, as the weather can start out cool near the coast and get very warm as you go up river -- think 40° plus temperature swing. And, sit in the first row, if you can (line up early); Not only will you get the best pictures, but you'll also stay a lot dryer if you want to as the windshield of the boat is handy for ducking into. If you're really into getting wet from what I could tell sitting in the second and third row is your best bet to be truly soaked, especially handy on a hot day.

Fish and game showed us this salmon they had tagged!

So much fun! Kevin was our pilot and he actually was our pilot years and years ago! We had the best day and the lunch provided was delicious, too!

We were crying laughing dan near the whole ride. We arrived a bit before our ship off time and we donned our rain jackets (which I highly recommend as you will most certainly get wet) and were directed to board our Red Jerry's Rogue River Jet Boat. This was a short drive from Humbug Mtn State Park to the dock in Gold Beach. We lucked out and had a gorgeous day on the Rogue River. We were fortunate enough to see some Bald Eeagles, a ton of Osprey, a plethora of swallows, and a bunch of deer. We did the shorter trip (32mi) and will definitely go back and do the 52mi trip next time. Kevin Boice - a descdent of Jerry Boice was our boat captain for the day and he is quite skilled at the help and regaled us in nature facts as well as historical significance of many landmarks along the Rogue river. From the get go we had an absolute blast. He was quite adept at dousing us in refreshing Rogue river water at his whim or would do a 360 degree spin with everyone hoot'n and holler'n at the fun being had. I do have to note that at no time did I feel worried as Kevin delivered a great ride that was overflowing (see what I did there) with fun but also safe. I brought my GoPro and got some epic videos. Our trip included lunch at the Cougar Lane Lodge and I figured it was going to be a sack lunch or something of the sort. Boy was I wrong. we ate like royalty and got a BBQ sampler plate and everything, even the cole slaw was delicious. The ribs were bite off the bone tender, the pulled pork was juicy and had a great smoke ring as did the Brisket which was also smoked perfectly. I was honestly surprised at how delicious the lunch was. This is a trip anyone passing through the area must experience.

    Bbq sampler....yummy

A week ago we did the 6 hr white water wilderness we had so much fun.Our pilot was John Carl ,very funny guy also very knowledgeable. We had a fun boatload of people.Had lunch at Cougar Lodge it was so delicious we both had the bbq sampler.I would 100 % recommendand to do Jerry's Rogue Jet Boats.John was very respectful of others on the river to let others pass. Fun overload

Couldn't believe he stood there that long for us to see.

My mom took me on this trip. We were originally going to go on the sailboat tour, but no one was on that one so we went on the express whitewater tour. Brandon Mathews was an awesome guide. He kept us very e tertained by giving us history, taking us through rapids and making sure we kept cool by splashing us. He had an eagle eye for nature and we saw many osprey and ducks, but on top of that he spotted a bald eagle AND a black beat and he made sure we all got a picture. We also saw a river otter but he was too fast for the camera. The food was good as we had bbq. I would highly recommend you go on this tour if you are in Gold River. So worth it!!

Booking the trip was relatively straightforward, but Morrisons highly encouraged us to do trip insurance because they don't offer refunds, which should've been the first red flag. Before I go too far, I do want to give a huge shout out to our guides Drew, Adam, and Johnny. They were amazing, and if I were rating just them, this review would be 5++ stars. They were friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, and genuinely cared about us and our hike. The rest of the Morrison's staff...not so much. There was an active wildfire in the area before we started the hike. We talked to Morrison's several times in the days leading up to the trip (before we flew out) and even asked about rebooking the trip for a different time, when the forest in the area wasn't on fire. We were assured that even though they were planning a few modifications to our itinerary (i.e. at least one day of rafting instead of hiking), they were confident that it would be a wonderful trip. Fast forward to the end of day 2 of our trip...and they had to cancel the rest of the 4-day hike due to safety concerns and, ultimately, a mandatory evacuation. To be clear, I'm not upset that we were pulled out of the woods, as that was an obvious safety decision. I'm mad because we specifically asked about rebooking for different dates and were told no. Morrison's got us back to their main lodge the following morning, at which point they considered themselves done with us. There was no refund, no help finding rooms for the night, and the last lodge we were in literally wouldn't even let us use the bathroom in the hour we were waiting for vans to get us back to safety. Morrison's did at least send us all an official email about the trip cancellation so that we could share that with our travel insurance (if we'd purchased it) to try to get a refund, but that was about it. Morrisons also made the guides tell us, rather than having anyone higher up in the company talk to us. From what we can tell, they also didn't do anything to help their guides (e.g. helping them find lodging) once the trip was canceled. I will also add that I'm vegetarian, and although there was a lot of very tasty vegetarian food available, vegetarian protein was extremely scarce. For dinner the two nights we hiked (~9 mi on day 1 and 15 mi on day 2), there was no source of vegetarian protein for me to eat. (The gluten free and dairy free people fared much better.) It would've been so easy to roast a portobello mushroom the way they roasted salmon, or to do some kind of meat substitute when they did ribs (they did have meat substitute at the lunches, and eggs or veggie patties at breakfast). I had brought some protein powder with me, but not enough to make up for dinners without protein. My friends ended up giving me the protein bars they'd brought for themselves to try to make up for the dinners. To Morrison's: please consider all macronutrients (carbs, fat, AND protein) when planning meals for your guests! Overall, I would absolutely go back to the river with any of the guides, but I'll never use Morrisons again, and I recommend that you don't either.

We usually visit the Northern Beach (Seaside) and enjoy it very much, but our visit to the South was extremely pleasant. We made reservations ahead of time at The Rogue River Landing in Gold Beach. We were greeted by the owners Bernard and Sahar Ortiz and their quiet but lovely daughter Alex. They treated us just like family and did everything they could to make our stay pleasant and most of all comfortable. They succeeded greatly at both. We stayed in the King of the Hill unit and our Grandkids stayed in the unit next to it. Talk about beautiful scenery and plenty of wildlife. We woke up the first morning to four wild turkeys gobbling under our bedroom window. There were plenty of Eagles, Osprey and deer. Also some very friendly Blue Jays and one particularly friendly swallow that flew into our living room as we left the doors open to enjoy the cool breeze and fresh mountain/ocean air. The swallow was released without harm after a short photo session. The boys went out on the ocean and had a great time and caught some outstanding fish. Now we're home and going to enjoy some fish taco's The accommodations at Rogue Landing are very well kept, clean and comfortable. A visitors happiness is indeed top priority for the Ortiz Family and we greatly appreciate all that they did to make our stay very memorable. Gold Beach is very limited on dining locations most of which close very early. Bernard and Sahar a working very hard on remodeling and reopening their onsite restaurant. We got a tour of how things are going and truthfully, this is going to be THE PLACE to eat in the area. Bernard is personally finishing the tops of the tables and they are gorgeous. The restaurant has views of the river that are breathtaking. We are contemplating returning for the restaurant opening so we are going to watch The Rogue River Landing website. (https://wwwrogueriverlanding.com) We took the advice of Bernard and Sahar to travel the thirty minutes to Brookings for more choice of food and shopping. Bernard passes his free time which I can see he doesn't have much of to handcraft knives. He has a great selection and they are for sale. He is friends with one of the knife makers on Forged in Fire and he produces quality knives. I highly recommend The Rogue River Landing for fishing, sightseeing or just sitting back and relaxing. The evenings were quiet, dark and very peaceful. I cannot overemphasize the great time we had and will most assuredly be returning. A special THANK YOU to Bernard, Sahar and Alex for making this our top of list visit to Oregon. WALT AND MELLONEY SZAREK KEARNS, UTAH
