I stopped by here on my way home from whole foods market. They had just paved there parking lot which can only fit 3 max cars at a time. It was not as big as the one I normally shop at in Penn Hills. They are a beer distributor and have a way hugger selection. But they serve all of penn hills so go figure. I was looking for a gluten free beer which they had four kinds including cider. The prices were crazy expensive. $35 for a 24 pack of cider. NO way!! I had to buy it though cause it was sunday at 4:30 and all the stores close at 5 so i had no choice. I should have waited but i drove all the way here to get it so I should just buy it while i'm there. Aside from the money issue this place was just ok to me.

My second stop on my quest to explore beer distributors in my neighborhood, and the best of the two! You won't find super obscure beers here in general, and I didn't look for Belgians, but they had plenty of IPAs for me to choose from. Ithaca Flower Power, Loose Canon, Lagunitas IPA, Full Pint Chinookie and TriPA, and more. I believe I even saw some Green Flash. However, I went with a case of Lagunitas Sucks!, not an IPA per-se, but a beer that's been hard to find anywhere and has a 98 "world class" score on Beer Advocate. It set me back $40 ($42.79 with tax). My trip was complete with the neighborhood smelly drunk asking me where the $10 case on sale was, the college dude looking for the same thing, and another man apologizing for accidentally complaining about bedroom issues with the gf within my hearing. I considered all of this a plus. Great atmosphere, and the staff was friendly too, though I only needed help in wanting less beer. I'll probably be back for some Flower Power in a week or two. I also experienced the joke that no one knows how to park in their parking lot - heck, I was probably one of those people. The lot is a weird shape! Best Bloomfield/Friendship/Shadyside area distributor so far.

As someone who tries to drink as little alcohol as possible, I wish that we had more options like this store around. This place was on my list, but I am so glad that I had the chance to visit and when I come back to Pittsburgh, I will definitely be revisiting.

The Open Road is here in the up-and-coming Garfield neighborhood to help supply sober and sober curious people, and really anyone interested in cutting back on alcohol or supporting someone who is, with delicious beverages that help you feel like you're not missing out on a thing. There are nonalcoholic beers, spirit-free versions of things like gin, bourbon, bitters and truly anything else you might need to make yourself alcohol free drinks at home. There are also pre-canned and bottled options where you don't have to do any of the work, nonalcoholic wine and bubbly, functional beverages with added benefits, the amount of choice is nearly overwhelming in the best possible way. It's a clean, open vibe in the shop and the staff is kind and helpful. I have bought from them a number of times throughout the year at various pop-ups but this was my first visit to the shop and of course won't be my last. They are regulars at Pittsburgh festivals and other events and I'm deeply appreciative for their presence in the community!

They served Collefrisio wines and had great cheese plates. My friends and I would go for their happy hour for half priced glasses of Riserva wine. It was a very laid back atmosphere. I don't think the wine bar has reopened, but I visited recently for a coffee. De Fer Coffee & Tea is now the coffee provider inside the grocery store. I guess I haven't been there for a while, because there were a lot of changes! The macaron stand isn't there any more, and they have seats instead. I was so glad that I took my laptop with me, because once I saw the seats I decided to stay and work. While sipping on my oat milk latte, I watched all the Downtown work people come and go ordering custom sandwiches and hot foods for lunch. They have a good selection of food and the prices are reasonable. I remember one time ordering salmon, veggies, and something else and it was only about $10-$12. They served it to you on a plate, and I ate it in the wine bar. I didn't eat anything on this most recent trip, but I enjoyed my latte from De Fer. I'm glad to know they have seats now because I definitely plan to eat/work there more often. They also have a restroom downstairs that is kept clean.

BEST PITTSBURGH WING…read more We were absolutely not expecting this and still can't believe it. We didn't have major expectations but hoped it would be at least a top 5 wing and average meal. It was beyond that The French onion soup we saw online and everyone seemed to enjoy that. We're whores for it so had to get. I like mine a tad bit salty which this was and PACKED with onion chunks and breaded leeks on top. It was impossible to get a spoon fully without any inclusions. My new favorite The Tavern Burger. I'm coming fresh off 9 years without 5 Guys (elite) and this rocked me harder than that. This isn't a stupid smash burger. We got a juicy COOKED PERFECT RARE 8oz patty, topped with sautéed onions, and bacon that isn't crisped to smithereens. I like my bacon medium rare and that's exactly what I got. Then covered in one of the craziest sauces I have ever had, their gorgonzola cream. I could drink that by the gallon The wings.... I have never had a wing itself cooked more perfect in my life. The smoke and meatiness on them was so nailed that I could get 2 dozen plain and still have the same reaction. We got the Buffalo Garlic and Dry Cajun Ranch. These wings don't need drenched in sauce by any means or it would honestly ruin it. The buffalo doesn't ned to be creamy either. Perfect amount of sauce to cheese ration. The dry cajun ranch was a fucking knockout. For how great the wing is I would love to see more dry season options with them Cam got a Tavern Dip. I hate dips. I loved the shaved ribeye on it and horseradish, but I have never been an Au Jus man. Would 100000% eat it without the au jus Then the fries. Always team psoriasis through and through. Not sure if I'm coming off the Five Guys high but their cajun boardwalk style are even better. Get some spicy honey aioli to dip them in. Truly just shocked at how amazing this place is. Right over the bridge and cannot recommend enough going here before a game and walking over. Great spot right before, after and during sports. Very high Pittsburgh atmosphere going on I will be back so many times and absolutely worth going Downtown for
