A visit to Weston is always a good time, especially if you check out Pirtle Winery! They have so many amazing wines in both bottles and cans, including mead and some hard cider. The blueberry wine is a must try. Their meads are amazing and come in honey, blackberry or raspberry. We like the blackberry the best, but all are amazing. They make some amazing fruit based wines with apple, cherry, blueberry etc. Wine slushes are fun to try too and very yummy. The tasting is definitely fun and informative. The restaurant next door has some great choices inducing pizza and finger foods. Definitely come to Pirtle and then stay to check out the rest of downtown Weston.

Fun tour and wonderful tasting on a beautiful afternoon with the Pirtle family at Pirtle winery!

The wine tasting experience is wonderful. Tried some very refreshing fruit-forward blends for every palate. Big fan of the 8% ABV apple cider, so took a 4 pack home of that while my friend purchased multiple bottles of wine. Great experience and wonderful tour led by a family that is deeply invested in their wine, the land, and their community. Friendly and knowledgeable staff as well!

My friends and I came in for a wine tasting. We were lucky enough to sample with the owner! They have SO many types of wine here. We all walked away with a bottle or two. They also have wine slushes, which is great for the summer heat! I had the "vino colada" which was a wine based pina colada. We are already planning our next visit!

Pirtle is worth a visit! Variety of wines, mead and ciders to taste and enjoy. Atmosphere is homey and welcoming. They have a patio, balcony, and a new restaurant across the street that offers good food and live music! Workers are caring and attentive! Awesome spot to enjoy your day with great company! 10/10

Wines in Missouri? Ok, I'll try it. This is basically a tasting room (as in it's not sitting on an expanse of land with vines everywhere). It's in a beautiful, old building, of course. $5 for a tasting and you can literally taste EVERY wine they offer. Hint: It's a lot of wines! And that $5 tasting fee is waived if you buy enough bottles of wine from them. There are a couple of the more traditional red, white, and rose varieties. But the bulk of the wines here are fruit ones, and there is some mead too. And, spoiler alert, the fruity wines and mead are damn tasty. And be sure to leave room for some wine slushies. Holy moly those things are dangerously fab and delicious! So so yum. And you can sit outside on their balcony whilst you enjoy that slushie. And the staff were friendly and great to chat with. Definitely worth a visit!

We always stop by Pirtle when in Weston. I honestly can't believe I haven't reviewed it yet! I love spending a Sunday afternoon in Weston, starting at Pirtle! I have been there many times, so I rarely do a tasting now, but they do offer one for $5. As a dry wine drinker, I like the Alhambra, the Weston bend white, and the Westonian. I also enjoy a slushee in the summer! The last time we were in, we were offered a sample of the cider, and I would definitely order that too. We got a bottle of wine and a picnic basket and headed out to the deck to share. It was a great Sunday afternoon.

My mom, sister, and I went here on a busy busy Saturday! Despite the flood of people inside and long line waiting, the service was phenomenal! They did not rush us through the tasting at all and offered more than the allotted 5 tastings and the wine slushy. The wine slushy, wow! It was amazing and you must try! I've been here on a warm day and sat in the garden, it was wonderful! I would say the only negative thing I have to share is that they don't offer tasting downstairs on the busy days and they should to spread the crowd, and there is no way upstairs to the main level without walking up a ton of steps so if you need a more accessible area, this is not the place.

Love this place! The staff are helpful and courteous. They have a great selection of wine, gifts, tshirts. The outside is beautiful. Love to come and listen to the live music!

This is still one of our most favorite wineries when we visit my husband's family in Missouri! Sooo many delicious wines! There is something here for everyone! The frozen wine slushies are amazing! Be sure to try them and purchase some bags of the slush mix and Mellow Red wine!!! (add rum to the mix too). They had just recently come out with canned wine!!! 4 cans is equivalent to 2.5 bottles of wine!! Wowzers!! I purchased a 4 pack of the Weston Bend Rose' and we also took home bottles of Blackberry Mead, Cherry Chocolate, Apple Wine and a couple bottles of Mellow Red to make their amazing wine slushies! During our 5 night stay in Missouri we visited Pirtle twice! So that definitely says something about this place!!!!

Beautiful ambiance, great customer service, and delicious wine! We came to Pirtle winery with some friends that had recommended it. We are from out of town and we were blown away by our whole experience. I am not big wine drinker but we decided to do a few tastings and I loved every single tasting! The man helping us, Aaron, was so delightful and helpful. He made the experience more enjoyable with his knowledge of the wines and his recommendations. I can't wait to come back and order some wine for the house!

This winery is truly as good as it gets. I don't think I can visit Weston without at least a quick stop for a glass of wine! To start, and one of the most important pieces, the customer service is amazing - the staff are fantastic! I love doing a quick little tasting, and there are plenty of wines and meads on the tasting menu! This past time my best friend and I decided to go with the rose and a picnic basket. The picnic baskets, by the way, are GENIUS. The large comes with a loaf of bread, three different cheeses, a summer sausage, an apple, and a cutting board and knife inside. We took this right onto the back deck with our bottle of wine and had the best afternoon. It is truly peaceful sitting out back, though some afternoons they have live music which is also fun! Do not come to Weston without stopping here!

Downtown Westport, this little spot is one of my favorite wineries I've been to north of KC! The tasting room was amazing and there wasn't a single sample I didn't enjoy. They have a 5 for $5 deal where you can sample front their wine list. And they offer 2 different wine slush options. When we went, they had a red and white wine slush on the menu. Due to COVID, their food selection was limited, but we were able to order the Small Picnic Basket to share and it was delicious! Inside was a loaf of sourdough bread, summer sausage, two types of cheese and an apple. We sat outside in the greenhouse area and it was a perfect setting to enjoy a glass, or four. My favorite wines we tried were the Rose, Blueberry Mead and Vignoles.

Ask the Community - Pirtle Winery

    Is the wine tasting free?

If you purchase three bottles of wine, the tasting is free. If not, I believe it was 5.00 for 5 tastings per person, but they will give you more than 5 samples if you ask!

Really, it's $15 for each one. The taste was average. I also did not like how one of the waiters came up to us and said something along the lines of "by the way we are closing in 20 minutes." However, it was a fun social thing to do and some of the wines we got were really good.

The cozy, warm ambiance of the place makes it feel like the ideal place to unwind. I started with a wine flight that included a white, Moscato, and a sweet red. While they were a bit on the dry side for my super-sweet wine preferences, they were still enjoyable. The mulled cider, however, was the real star--absolutely delicious! We also ordered some snacks to share: a pepperoni flatbread and a charcuterie board. They arrived fresh and fast, and the server took the time to explain each item on the board, making the experience even more enjoyable. Everything was top-notch and super tasty. What really stood out was the friendly, knowledgeable staff, who made sure we had everything we needed. There's also a big patio that's perfect for summer months, offering a great place to relax and enjoy the outdoors with a glass of your favorite drink. Plates and water were readily available for self-service, which was a nice touch. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in the area--such a great spot with the perfect combination of warmth, good food, and great drinks!

Farm to table, right? How about farm to table AT a farm's table?…read more Green Dirt Farm offers up an array of choices from their artisanal cheeses and pair those with a number of other agricultural offerings from Missouri. Their sheep's cheese has that tangy, yet savory, bite to it and marries well with any number of wine varietals. Missouri, and Weston in particular, produces climates and days of sun similar to those of French wine regions, so the vines produce a wonderful fruit suitable for bottling. Plus, when you add in other items to your wine 'n cheez, like sausages or local honeys, it's a party all around. We love to get a charcuterie and a couple of drinks, be they wine or local beer products, and find a seat outside. If you aren't sure what you want, then the friendly staff is more than willing to offer suggestions or other service. The tables out front, on an autumn day in particular, give that rustic feel that underscores the farm to table experience. Handy intel: If you are outside and you do get something sweet (think jam or honey), then you are bound to attract friends. The buzzing kind. Green Dirt Farm also has a fabulous selection of sammiches as well. I love the 'Ruby Don't Go Bacon My Heart', a grilled delight of local cheeses and crumbled bacon, served with a strawberry jam. It's SUBLIME, and you may regret sharing. And don't miss their handmade ice cream, with flavors rotating seasonally and always worth the indulgence. Wine, locally made goods, and even locally raised meats like lamb are sold in the shop, and you just can't leave empty-handed. It's super easy to find if you're coming in from the east, like off the 435 loop. Parking is where you want to park, seating is easy outside and even some inside, and the value far outstrips the price points.
