Decided to go into the store while waiting for The Crab Pot. The employee with super short great hair is extremely rude. My wife told my daughter we weren't going to buy anything over there (referring to one section of the store). The employee walked up to my 4 year old daughter and snatched the bucket hat out of her hand as she was just standing there looking around and said "I don't want it to get dirty." Now knowing that we were planning to buy it. My wife then said come on it's time to go then the employee in a loud voice said "ohhhhh, I offended them." Loud enough for everyone to turn around in the store and look. Then my wife said you don't have to be rude about it and snatch stuff out of my daughters hands. The lady would giggling and saying I wasn't being rude. Snatching an item out of a kids hands without saying anything to her is not the way to react to a customer just standing there holding something. Then to say that so loud about being offended is ridiculous. Lady is such a joke. Wish I would've seen her grab that from my daughters hand. Interesting store with basic bottom end stuff but the crappy employee made it a shit experience. Would give it a no star. read more

Given the name I definitely thought there would be pirate stuff in here and so I always dismissed this spot. Don't! YOU MUST COME IN to this souvenir shop, it's probably my new favorite souvenir stop in the city after having visited just once. There are so many great Washington related things. Pirates Plunder is an interesting little gift shop that has fun little interesting tourist gifts and other silly novelty items. There are also some politically driven items. I would say you need to go into the shop with an open mind, and remember which state you are in where marijuana is legal, and that the State of Washington is primarily more liberal than conservative. This is not a statement of my views, as I try to keep those outta Yelp, but the store has a clear driving force, but its playful. Items in the store are interesting and fun. I have purchased a few items each time I have visited. I have found it to be a great place for children's gifts - there are some nice little books and stuffed animals that are unique and fun (and appropriate). I did end up getting a "find the fart" book that is similar to "where's waldo" for my 5 year-old nephew on this particular trip - may or may not be appropriate depending on your position, but our family will get a hoot out of it! read more

Worst part of our Seattle vacation. The manager (Valerie) yelled at my 7 year old for not being with his parents (we were 10 feet away) and ripped a stuff animal away from him. He then went to get another one and was going to show us (we told him to pick something out) and before he could turn around and walk to us, she grabbed him and took it away and told him "his parents should be watching him". After he ran to the corner nearby crying, our older son came and told us what happened. When confronted, I was told that "a good parent watches their kids in a store". After a few choice words (you touch or yell at my kid, I lose my cool), I threw my over $100 worth of items we were going to purchase on the ground and stormed off. She is a bully and should not be in the retail business. Apparently I am not the only one who thinks that based on other reviews. TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE!! read more

I swore that on the way back from the Ye Old Curiosity Shop, I'd return and purchase that purse that had the cat with the unicorn horn but I never made it back. The reason is more complicated than I can write here but it involves bad traffic on the I-5 and the inability of the Depends Active Fit with Moderate Absorbency to hold the entire contents of someone who I will not mention here. read more

Cute store with touristy items and Washington souveniers right right near the water the Great Wheel of Seattle. My boyfriend and I stopped in for a couple of shot glasses as gifts for friends ($4 - $6 each) and some postcards to send home to our parents (4/$1.00). The woman working was very nice (VPatel was her name on the receipt). Prices were reasonable and they had a good selection of items for sale. read more

This store is very cute! They have things for all ages, but very nice things! I love that they have themed sections in the store. They have a mermaid and nautical section, Unicorn section, day of dead section, a big foot section (lol), and a few generic sections. They have very nice things, not cheaply made. Cute store on the waterfront. Another tourist trap sort of place but with a pirate theme. It's filled with lots of interesting little things to look at and is a great place to bring someone looking for a souvenir. I've been here quite a few times whenever I'm in the area and I always find the items in the shop to be rather amusing. Pirates Plunder is deliciously tacky and wonderful. It's chock full of a wide variety of items - everything from pirate-related items (of course) to ocean themed goodies to Seattle art prints. There's tons of stuff to look at here! I've been here twice fairly recently and I've spent at least 30 minutes in the store each time. There's plenty of good touristy items, so if you need souvenirs to bring home, definitely stop here. Some of the stuff is a little more unique than you might find in other tourist shops too, so that is a bonus. I can't quite give this place four stars since I've never actually purchased anything here. But I definitely have fun poking around in here - so much to look at! read more

Of the three souvenir shops on alaskan way (ye olde, simply seattle and this), this is by far the most organized and the cheapest. I had time to kill while our guests took the underground tour nearby so I did souvenir shopping and price comparison for them. While ye olde has the best collection of locally made stuff, I found pirate's plunder to be a close second. And while the other two shops are messy and overcrowded, this one is neatly organized, has breathing space and is well lit. You're not crowded by packs of tourists while you're shopping. Of course, the fact that everything was at least 1-2 bucks cheaper than the other two shops makes this my favorite. read more

This place is a scam. Make sure you check your receipt. My 13 year old son wanted to buy a Seattle license plate with his hard earned money. The cashier also rings up "Pirate n folks pens" with his purchase for 7.99 and adds it to his transaction. . She then gives him a $5.09 "Ticket discount" . He now has paid an extra $2.09 for the license plate .This place caters to visitors and yet they also try to scam innocent customers especially children. She probably saw him with cash and took full advantage of him. It clearly states on the receipt that she rang up 2 items and gave him a "Ticket discount" so that the couple of dollars would seem like he was paying taxes. I know this is probably not a one time incident. Definitely will not recommend this place to anyone. It was our last place to buy souvenirs and my family left Seattle very disappointed that this happened. read more

Great products but terrible customer service! Went here with the fiance and his little sisters over the weekend. Couldn't track down an employee the entire time we were there, there was water spilled on the floor, enough to be a slip hazard, no employee could be flagged down to help with it, and none seemed to care. My fiance and I were buying souvenirs for everyone and spent upwards of $150, and they were rude to his little sister, who was obviously with us, asked her if she was "actually going to buy something" and when she responded no, they ordered her to "then move" when I hadn't even finished putting my card away yet, so it's not like we were holding up the line, and there was only one couple behind us anyway. No need to embarrass and belittle someone after the people they're with just spent that kind of cash. Not to mention, the icing on the cake, I spent 20 bucks on a mug that said "feeling nauti" with an anchor that was super cute and I was really excited about it, but they wrapped it so poorly and put it on the bottom of the bag so despite taking it straight to my car it was broken when I got home. While exploring the waterfront, my out of town guests thought a souvenir for the folks back home is in order. My nephew apparently is of the age when wearing an all out pirate's outfit to school, church or around the neighborhood is still acceptable. (To those of you over the age of 10 who still like to don the pirate hat, hook hand and eye patch for a night out with that special someone; this is your kind of shop as well.) There is a treasure chest filled with skull rings, Mardi Gras beads and the like for 25 cents a pop or 4 trinkets for a dollar! The t-shirts were actually cute and they did a great job ensuring their inventory matched the theme of the store. Prices were surprisingly reasonable and the clerk was very helpful and friendly. read more

Awesome assortment of items for tourists located along Seattle's waterfront. The store was nicely put together with several different sections. I enjoyed the quirky pirate section and then roaming over to the coffee section and finding good items to bring home as gifts for relatives. Prices were reasonable, and the selection was vast. My life truly began the day I was taken to Pirates Plunder. You can find everything here. But only if everything means awesome stuff. True, there is a weird back corner with Seattle magnets and snow globe crap, but %80 of the store is AMAZING. If you are going to any baby showers get the How To Pregnancy and How To Baby Handling books. So funny, also baby bibs and shirts that say "Surrender the Booby". Also some awesome dragon skulls (they are real, don't ask how I know). All the fun magnets with the fifties style ladies with huge psychotic smiles saying fun stuff like "Don't hate yourself in the morning, sleep till noon", and "Please don't interrupt me while I am ignoring you". AND AND they have REALLY cute clothes! I got a pink tank top with a light grey gun pointing downwards with a rose coming out of the end (nozzle? What is gun language?) and a super soft light grey shirt with the small silhouette of a pirate on the left chest area with a tiny heart and sword on the back right shoulder. Love the unexpected details. Just give yourself a good hour to look. If you don't love this store we most likely can never be friends, so please don't ask. read more
