This place is very special to me…read more I first discovered it during one of the hardest periods of my life, and from the beginning, there was something about the energy of the store and Jerome's kindness that made me feel genuinely welcome. We started coming back regularly, and over time this little store became a meaningful part of my healing journey. Of course, I love the crystals, the beautiful selection, the artistry and the quality of everything here. You can tell Jerome puts so much thought, care and love into everything he chooses for the store. But for me, what makes this place truly special is the energy. It always feels warm, positive and welcoming. You somehow know that everything in there has been chosen with love and good intentions. And honestly, I don't just go there to shop anymore. I also genuinely enjoy our conversations with Jerome. He is always welcoming, positive, funny and just very easy to talk to. Sometimes you walk into a store looking for a crystal and leave with a crystal, a good conversation and slightly more faith in humanity. :) It is simply comforting to know that good people like Jerome and his partner exist. This is one of those places that became much more than a store for me, and I'm very grateful I found it.

My favorite…read morerestaurant is just a couple of doors down and now that they open a little earlier, Aum & Garden was still open when my significant other and I walked by last week. We decided to stop in to check it out and I'm so glad we did. We were greeted immediately by Jerome, who was extremely welcoming. He told us a little bit about the store and its history. We let him know that it was our first time stopping in and wanted to see what types of items they sold. There are many, many fun items and I look forward to stopping by again to take a longer look at the great offerings that they have. I had a chance to spot a fun crystal that will be perfect to give a friend that recently opened a new business. The crystal is a selenite mini egg which is good for purification and new beginnings. There are many different crystals available, at many price points. If you are looking for some, this is a great place to shop!

### Important Update -- Please Support Our Local Small Businesses…read more I wanted to share an important update regarding **MagicasGemas and the other small businesses in the area.** There appears to be an ongoing dispute between building management and the property/leasing management across the way, which includes the parking structure. As a result, a solid panel fence has been placed between the parking area and the walkway that customers and small business owners have traditionally used. Unfortunately, this makes it **look as though the businesses are closed or inaccessible when they are NOT.** **MagicasGemas is OPEN!** Customers simply need to walk to the **end of the fence and enter from the street-side sidewalk** to reach the business. This situation is affecting not just MagicasGemas, but the other hardworking small businesses in the area as well. Please don't assume they're closed because the usual walkway is blocked. **Please continue to support these local businesses.** Make the extra few minutes to walk around the fence, visit, shop, and let the owners know that their community hasn't forgotten them. Small businesses depend on our support, especially when circumstances beyond their control make it harder for customers to find them. **Please share this update so people know: THEY ARE OPEN! ** #SupportSmallBusiness #ShopLocal #SupportLocalBusiness #MagicasGemas

The prices were fantastic and the couple that was always at the store were so nice and friendly. I just came in today to pick up a new beaded bracelet. The same style crystal bracelets I've been buying from here for years. The prices have skyrocketed insanely. When I asked why the bracelets are more than double what they used to be I was told, "It's Hollywood". I guess when spiritual practices have gone viral on TikTok and have been gentrified by the usual suspects, even the dope spiritual boutiques care less about the practice and more about capitalism. I will not be returning.

Mid-process, she requested an additional $95 for items she said were suddenly necessary, claiming my case had become 'very severe' and demons needed to be 'negotiated with'. When I couldn't afford it, monks and spiritual superiors were introduced into my case with no prior mention. The 3-day process was never completed. I discovered General Wax earlier this year when I thought candle making would be a fun hobby. I brought a friend along to their North Hollywood location for what was advertised as an educational class. Unfortunately, it didn't seem like a class much at all but more like an activity. The 'instructor' claimed to sell her own candle creations, yet seemed surprisingly unknowledgeable. Our group was outspoken and asked lots of questions, but she was incredibly vague and nonchalant. When asked basic technical questions like how different fragrances react with specific waxes or how to choose the right wax for a project, she couldn't even provide clear answers. I really didn't learn much of anything at this paid class. (Fyi, I turned to YouTube!) The store itself is spacious and well organized, but be very careful with their pricing. I've found that many of their supplies are significantly marked up compared to local craft stores or Amazon. For example, I bought a digital scale here that turned out to be a non-functioning and non-reliable piece of trash. After some research, I realized they charged me three times more than better models available online. Thankfully, I was able to return it. Their fragrance selection and quality is mostly great and I do like their wax. The staff doesn't go out of their way to help but are approachable and friendly. What prompted this review today was a total lack of communication regarding their hours. I checked their website before leaving my house to ensure they were open. The only holiday closure banner on their website was for a holiday that happened months ago (labor day). After a 40-minute drive, I arrived to find the gates closed. I had to pull over and call, only to hear a recording stating they are closed for the next 10 days for holidays and inventory. It's incredibly irritating to waste that much time and gas because a business can't be bothered to update their website. Honestly, it shows that they don't really value their customers or their time.
