Lucky for us, we happened to walk by this spot and stopped in to grab a bite! We were greeted by (who we came to find out later was) the owner, who was tending bar and taking care of the entire front of house on his own. And killing it, by the way. We let him know we were visiting from Mexico and San Diego and the conversation just took off from there. My boyfriend's first language is Spanish, so he was stoked to be able to speak with someone who also spoke Spanish and wasn't speaking in the dialect from Spain. We ordered the al pastor tacos (which are my favorite in Mexico) and were SO impressed by how delicious and authentic they tasted! The tortillas tasted fresh and the meat was seasoned perfectly. They even included the little slice of piña! Come to find out, they import a lot of their ingredients straight from Mexico. We reveled in the spicy salsa and the tang from the limes. It was a welcome change of pace from all the French food we had been eating all week. And washing it down with a nice mezcal was the icing on the cake. French food is amazing, don't get me wrong, but absolutely nothing beats Mexican food, in my opinion. I could eat it everyday! Add these guys are dishing up the real deal in the heart of Lyon. Check it out if you're missing a taste of home or if you're just looking for something not smothered in cream, butter and cheese!

I think the price simply does not match the atmosphere of the place, but if you get a drink it will be good.

Atmosphere/Appearance: Set right on the back alley pedestrian street behind the Crowne Plaza is this gem. It's a beautiful mojito bar that's wonderfully decorated with an open concept floor plan. The drop-ceiling was a lil' underwhelming, but the artifacts spread around the walls along with the floor-standing art definitely helped out a lot. The music was chill and big chairs were comfortable. Service: Kevin took care of us and he was okay. It could've been the language barrier, but I ain't trippin'. He was busy and running around all over the place so I cut him some slack. Food: I went with this Mexican combination plate. On it was some onion rings, a small salad, a taco, a quesadilla, 2 wings, guacamole and tortilla chips. Every single thing on the plate was very underwhelming. I mean... what did I really expect from a Mexican restaurant in Lyon, France? I don't know, but I certainly wouldn't order that again. My co-worker said he really enjoyed his double-cheeseburger. Value: My plate was 15€. I mean, I guess. This place isn't expensive, but it's closer to the cheaper and more affordable side. In conclusion, I wouldn't come back here. It was fine for what it was and for not having to drive anywhere, but in the spirit of supporting local businesses, check this place out if you're in the area. Hopefully you have a better experience and enjoy some better food than I had!

It was a sampler of a taco, onion rings, chicken wings and small burrito with chips. I never thought nothing could taste good on a sampler dish but I was wrong. In addition the mojito royal was like no mojito I ever tasted. Each of us took sip and hard pass. Mint was on sticks instead of muddled, no sweetness and tasted like old carbonated water. They offered to get us a different dish but all confidence was lost. Still paid and barely touched.
