This place is fantastic. The service was wonderful. The food hits the spot. The beer is good. The vibes are right. Recommend!

The clam chowder is the best I have ever, ever had!!!!!! Otherwise I don't want to rate this place based on tonight, it was saint Patrick's day during a pandemic....just whacked out!...not a regular night. I'd like to come back on a regular night for the clam chowder and then I'd be happy to rate the staff and the facility. I will say, however, that I was disappointed that there were only 2 local beers on tap, everything else was a big national bland errr I mean brand lol read more

I went to St. Francis Xavier University ("X") in Antigonish from 1980 to 1983 and moved here after graduation. I moved to Toronto in 1987. At the time, there was only one tavern in town, the Triangle. From 1980 onwards, I spent a fair bit of time at the Triangle and had lots of fun. Since I've been in Toronto, it has now become Piper's Pub. After Gord and I had supper at the Wheel this evening, we stopped in Piper's Pub. I was curious to see what changes there would be. I was expecting it to be cleaned up with booths ... like more of a British pub. Um ... no. It's the same but different. There used to be a wall that separated the front from the back. The older locals sat in the front under the moose- and deerheads. The wall is now gone and there's a bar there now. The university students and younger locals sat in the back part. It was just tables and chairs. Same concept today but less tables ... and it's darker. Apparently Wednesday and Saturday nights are busy. Draft are $3 a glass and there is an open jam at 10pm. We stayed for a drink. Alas, this didn't live up to my memories read more

This is a review of the Piper's Pub daytime food and customer service, not the nightlife. My friend and I went to Piper's the other afternoon for lunch and were pleasantly surprised first by the lack of other patrons, and secondly (in part due to the first surprise) how quickly our food was made and brought to us. The food is a little better than anything you would expect from a pub, and pretty cheap. I realized it was kind of a shame that more people aren't interested in eating there during the day, especially students. The pub is very affordable and although it doesn't serve the healthiest food, but it certainly has great service. Hot Hint: During the summer the patio is a great place to eat, there is lots of seating outside for groups, and it is licenced to for alcohol! read more

Friendly staff with great service and an amazing menu. Incredible fish and chips. Recommended.

The food and atmosphere were great, but unfortunately, it was ruined by a specific server. I assured to get her name, which is Cassidy, as I was extremely unhappy. She rushed me and my family out, as it was a busy night and she said she "did not have time to wait on us." We were told to pay immediately, even though we were considering another drink because she did not have time to come back. I shared my experience with some friends and they had similar stories. The overall tone she used with us was rude. I like to consider the server's feelings, as it was a busy night, but from a busy server or not, I felt as a human being I should not have been spoken to that way. I will be sure to not bring my parents back the next time they are in Antigonish. read more

I'd give this place no stars if I could. The service was awful, our server was extremely rude. I am assuming they are short staffed considering this was my 5th or 6th time having the same server. I believe her name is Cassidy or Cassandra. She was arrogant and extremely pissy to my husband and I. Our food didn't come out the way it was supposed to and when we tried to tell her that she became even more rude and aggressively took my plate off of the table without saying anything. I used to be a server so I always try to think about how bad some days can be at work but this server is clearly just a rude person in general and should not be in the serving industry. I have also heard many horror stories about said server from others once I started sharing about my experience. read more

I wish I could review the food but never got that far. We walked in to a pretty empty pub with about 7 men at the bar, one table of 2 up front and another table in the back with 2 people. We sat right down and placed our order when the waitress came to our table for our drink order. We sat patiently for 25 minutes intentionally being avoided by the waitress. I saw her side glancing often but never coming over. Eventually I had to flag her down. I hated even having to do that but like I said ... you could tell she was avoiding us. When she finally came over she instantaneously started apologizing stating that there were 3 big orders put in at the same time and that it would be a bit longer. It's now 45 minutes in and she says another 5 minutes. Not true. I even saw a order of nachos (which I ordered) come out in that supposed 5 minutes which turned into 10+. Eventually we had to accept that it may possibly be quicker to start over somewhere else. It would have made all the difference in the world if she just mentioned that the kitchen was busy and the food might take a little longer but that did not happen until I flagged her down. Might be better to start somewhere else and then NOT go here after. read more

Great service, solid pub, and good food. I enjoyed the craft beer on tap. Was pleased to see a few vegetarian options as well. Salads in particular were impressive. Recommended. read more

Nice neighborhood joint. The server was friendly and attentive. The poutine was a little too soggy for my taste, though.

It's home for us. Good food and Scottish music. It ain't the ritz bit a comfy home town pub. read more

I have only been here primarily for the nightlife experiences and not daytime dining. The nightlife USED to be great, now it's become a bit of a challenge to have a good time at Pipers. The growing student population has provided an overcrowded atmosphere that has been poorly managed by staff and security. Lines grow too long outside at night while the inside is still empty and remains a mystery as to why they do this. Perhaps they want us to sober up in line so we buy more at the bar once we get in? The bar itself is okay, service is best as it gets on a busy night but bar staff are friendly and cooperative. DJing is great and environment it still fun due to the numerous themed events put on. Mainly student populated during the school year but there are times when it's a mixed crowd with town people and that's when it's at its best. read more

Absolutely terrible slow service at this pub, there are never enough bar tenders on staff and if you don't tip you get harassed about it. I was absolutely appalled when trying to pay my bill the older blond bartender said to me "no f@$king tip, f@$k you", and I spoke out about the rudeness of this and I was escorted out of the bar by a bouncer! All because I did not tip, which I had an arangment with my friend were I would pay the bill if he leaves the tip. This business will never see my money ever again! read more

I went there for Burger night to order a Bacon cheeseburger and fries and my friend got the mushroom portobello I think it was and it took about an hour and a half for the food to arrive. The customers behind us were complaining how long the wait was,and how long they were waiting. When they got there order it was wrong. There were no forks, no napkins, no knives, no ketchup nothing on the table . The usual restaurant takes your drink order and brings your drink back within like two minutes of ordering the guy from behind the bar then came from behind the bar and give us complementary drinks for the service. The food finally arrives, there was no sauce nothing on the burger I asked for sauce and they charged me for mayo sauce but I feel like that supposed to come complementary and then he actually charge me for something I order which was his fault so they end up charge me like an extra four dollars and I'm telling him you didn't bring the right order that I ordered so it backfired on me.The service was awful the guy was awful,They need more people we had to wait at least 15 minutes sitting down for him to come and ask us our order read more

If you like breathing, keeping your blood inside your body and not having to push drunk people of all sorts off you while waiting in line for a full hour outside the pub, DO NOT go to Piper's Pub. I just spent over an hour outside the pub got pushed around, couldn't breathe, was almost crying while the bouncers did nothing. I finally left after much pushing and shoving through the line and am now bleeding because somewhere along the way someone cut my foot. Avoid Piper's Pub at all costs on a Saturday night. I'm not sure what they serve inside Piper's Pub because I've never gotten in. read more

This place was very nice inside. But our food was horrible, hamburger was burnt on the outside and red in the centre with way to much spices. The French fries were over cooked and spoiled in salt. My coleslaw was sour. So overall I will never return for food. read more
