My hair is a near-impossible to manage mess most of the time. It is incredibly thick and straighter than an arrow. This makes it very difficult to style, as cutting it just the tiniest bit too short results in hair shooting off in all directions. Despite this, the guys at Piper's manage to get it right every single time. I trust them implicitly to get it done right. And at less than half the price I was paying to get hacked up in Boulder. The barbers here are very friendly, and I wouldn't consider taking my money anywhere else. read more

My wife and I are Visiting Denver on business for an extended period of time, this no nonsense barbershop is the best one I could find in town. Be sure to make an online reservation and there is literally 0 wait time. Started my haircut right on time. Don't be fooled by the exterior appearance. When I moved to Denver, it was a struggle to find a good barber shop. I went to a couple places. One had hot ladies working there...who couldn't cut hair. Went to another spot a couple times, but the smugness and constant attempt to make my Gen X a$$ into a hipster caused me to start the search again. Using the Google machine, I found a spot in my neighborhood called Pipers Parlor. When I showed up, I was greeted by a beautiful blonde...dog. I immediately felt at home. I scheduled Sal ( don't be a clown, make a reservation) . It was on time, and Sal along with the other barbers were very welcoming. I received a quality hair cut and am now a repeat customer. Pipers has that old school barber feel, and it's run by young guys which is great. I have seen men come in just to hang like its a social club, which harkened back to the old school feel of the place. If your a guy looking for a great cut by good guys, hit up pipers. read more

I've been a repeat custy at pipers for about 6 months now. Stephen knows what I like and is rarely backed up, im in an out in 30 minutes with a solid cut. You have to book a head of time if you want a time that works for you. Talented guys tend to have full schedule. If you are a walk-in kind of guy don't get all prissy when they can't fit your needs, schedule ahead of time and you'll be greeted with good customer service and walk out with a good cut. Very neat local barbershop - they have charming chairs and cool, nice barbers. Expect Netflix or similar in the one TV there, notice the local paraphernalia, and swing by next door for some great Mexican baked goods while waiting. I would not recommend this barber shop to anyone. They refuse to answer their phone during business hours and then when you drop by the goofy looking barber ( who I wouldn't want to cut my hair anyways considering the way his own beard and hair looks) tells me that it is appointment only and they are all booked. At least answer the phone, don't just stand in the tiny shop taking up place with your awful attitude. There's plenty of barbershops in town where they'll take your money without reciprocating with attitude. These shops have well groomed barbers who enjoy their profession, and sadly, you won't find that at Pipers. read more

Even though I live in San Francisco I still try and get my hair cut here as frequently as I'm back in Denver. Been going to Brandon for a while now and I am always pleased with the results. He is meticulous and focused in his work and clearly cares about leaving you satisfied. The atmosphere is one of an old school barbershop without any of the creepy weirdness of that genre, like porn mags and pinups lying around. I could not recommend the shop more thoroughly. Then, a "friend" came in, who didnt have an appontment, and that last barber helped him without even acknowledgeding us. They were drinking and disregarded customers with reservations. I've been to Piper's about 5 times now since moving to the area and I've had an enjoyable visit every time. The dudes are great, shop talk is awesome and they give you a great cut on top of that. My first time in my roommate came in with me and he had no money and no job and mentioned he had a few interviews coming up. Andy Sweet said, "you can't go to an interview with out a little clean up, man!" He then trimmed and cleaned up my roommate for free.
