I have been doing my banking here for almost 12 years now and I have never looked back. Carole, the…read morebank manager, will bend over backwards to take care of all your banking needs. I have had car loans, personal loans, business loans, savings accounts, and checking accounts at Mohawk Progressive. They have great rates and no fee checking accounts as well as online banking. MPFCU is a small credit union where the member really does come first. They may not have all the latest techno services of the larger banks but they got it where it counts- and that's customer service. I remember a couple years ago my iTunes account was hacked and the thief started making several hundred dollar purchases over and over again to his fake account on iTunes that ended up totaling over $3000 dollars. Carole called me and alerted me to the activity and put a stop payment on my account before calling me. She knows me well enough to know I didn't make those purchases. That isn't the only time MPFCU has saved my skin. They have also called me to alert me a payment was clearing when I had insufficient funds in my account (Hey it happens to the beat of us) just so I could add money in time to avoid any fees or penalties. Carole and her member service reps will do the same for you. I will continue banking there for as long as I am around and you should too!

I feel I waited in inordinate amount of time between signing in and acknowledgement! That Is my perception! I waited for the customer service agents for 5 minutes without acknowledgement. No greeting or eye contact. Both are in one cubicle (and despite the hair twirling and giggling, I am told that it was a business meeting - at the expense of a customer waiting?) I decided to work with the teller first to conclude any business there - while I wait. HE is the only reason this branch got the two stars! He was courteous and helpful. He closed the savings portion of my bank account (intended before I went in) and emailed the customer service agents to alert them of further needs. By then one agent was busy, so I returned to the chairs. After seven minutes, the unoccupied agent came out to help me - she knew what I needed, so I know she got the teller's email! After I concluded business I pointed out that I felt I had waited an inappropriate amount of time before acknowledgement (I was the only customer in the chairs waiting for customer service and I stood so she could see me!). She reported that she and the other agent were in a business meeting and that working through the teller was the correct way to do business. What if I only needed customer service - would I still be out there? Never had to do that before! Counter intuitive to other banking experiences. Why sign in? I told her how I felt, and I was summarily dismissed. What a shame! Never asked why I was closing the account - doesn't matter, I suppose. Teller was wonderful, but use this branch only for them! Go to another branch for "customer" service.... Just my perception!

The staff is super friendly and it's good to see the same faces on the teller line in an industry with a high turnover. My rating is for the staff at the branch for providing outstanding service.

We met Alexis B there and she saved us a ton of money. Not only did she get us approved for the vehicle we were looking at she was able to refinance the other two auto loans that we have and save us money each month without extending the term. We then looked into debt consolidation and saved money there as well. Alexis goes above and beyond for her customers and has a great personality. I would recommend her to anyone looking to purchase a vehicle, do a debt consolidation or refinance the vehicles they currently have. I recommended her to family and friends because I trust her and she just goes above and beyond for her customers. She is that good!

After that clearly meant that my information wasn't secure, I closed my account with BofA. Imagine my surprise when a year later, I got a notice in my email inbox that an appointment had been made for that family member to REOPEN my account (and I now live 3000 miles away). I called up the BofA fraud line (who were very helpful), but had to be transferred over to the branch to ensure that this person did not get access to my information. Once I got ahold of someone, he put me on hold. When he came back, he claimed that the appointment had been made by mistake...that someone with my same name had made an appointment and they sent me the email by mistake. I have a very unique name by virtue of marriage, and am relatively certain that I'm the only person with my name in the world, much less in Schenectady. I hung up, at least grateful that BofA corporate had done as much as they could for me. So be forewarned if you bank here...your information is not at all safe with these folks.
