Came for lunch, it was very quiet and relaxing. There is indoor, outdoor and bar seating. We were greeted upon arrival and chose a table outside. The server brought out our drinks and a plate with two sauces and some sort of nut? The sauces were delicious on everything! Ordered an empanada, it was very good. The chicken soup was too good and really hit the spot! Will absolutely be back to try more things off the menu.
I love pio pio but this location in particular was hands down the best! Service was amazing here! Staff was very attentive and friendly. Food was of course 10/10 but the service really made it all more worthwhile! 10/10 staff/service 10/10 food 10/10 drinks (home made sangria was to die for!!)
Excellent service. Plenty of seating around restaurant. Servers were attentive. Great happy hour.
Pio Pio is a casual restaurant offering a wide variety of latin dishes. the name caught my attention because of the "pio pio" meaning so i definitely wanted to stop by. the price point vs portion size ratio is incredible! the food was delicious, i could literally i smelt it as soon as the server walked through the doors! there is outdoor and indoor seating, a fully stocked bar, and tv's. i stopped by on a slow night so the service was good and were able to place our orders pretty fast. i love that they have so many options to choose from when it comes to latin cuisine, and not just 1 particular country/region.
We had a good lunch here the other day. We've been to several other restaurants before in the area nearby, so we knew the location. This restaurant has only been open, however, about 7 months. Street parking is limited. After going round the block, we saw that there was additional parking behind the row of shops. And a walkthrough made it convenient to access the restaurant. Pio Pio is a chain started in New York over 20 years ago. This restaurant didn't feel or look like it. It seemed independent and a tad upscale and the attentive service reflected that, as well. We sat inside due to the hot weather. They also have patio/outside seating, too. We were greeted on entry and seated right away. They had a lunch special advertised on a blackboard -- and that's what my husband chose to get. I'd read about their rotisserie chicken so that's what I ordered. His special included a white meat chicken breast pounded thin and covered with onions and mushrooms along with sides of rice and red beans and plantains. He said it was very good. I ordered their quarter rotisserie chicken and asked for white meat (it's a bit extra $) and requested my sides to be salad and vegetables. They delivered the salad first -- it was huge -- and added avocado to it (another small uncharge, but worth it). The chicken was great -- perfectly cooked while moist and flavorful. The veggies were just okay (a mix of cauliflower, carrots, etc) -- and I'd choose something else next time as a side. But oh that chicken... They have many other things besides chicken --steak and pork chops, fish and shrimp. And lots of Latin/Peruvian favorites. The menu is in Spanish and English. They have tropical juices as well as a full bar. If you're looking for something a bit different -- dining out rather than just eating out -- in the area, give pio pio a try.
This is a hidden treasure. I have driven by many times and never really noticed it before till someone pointed it out to me. I stopped in and had one of the best sangrias of my life there. I ordered the lomo saltado and it was delicious. The waiter was great, friendly and had wonderful recommendations. Very relaxed atmosphere and overly packed which is a nice change. I'm glad I don't live right above it because I would be there for happy hour daily.
Great food and service. Compared to other locations that I have been to the portions weren't that big but just right. Came here with my mom and brothers. Had the grilled chicken with rice, beans and yuca fries. All delicious. We all took advantage of outdoor seating since we had the dog with us. Great atmosphere with a street view. Great service as well.
This is a really hard review to write. I think they were good things and bad things about this whole experience. The wait staff was definitely friendly and eager to help. But the waiter we had didn't seem to know the menu that well. My husband ordered a whole red snapper. That was phenomenal. The presentation of it was beautiful. My mother-in-law ordered a red snapper fillet and felt it was too dry. I took a bite and thought it was fine. I ordered Lomo Saltado and did not care for it at all. The meal came out wickedly hot (temperature) and while it was this hot, I found the sauce that was on it to be mildly nauseating. I can't explain why but it seemed like the taste was so much different when it was freaking hot versus when it was cooling down. I kind of poked around at the meal a little bit because I didn't care for it, eating mostly on the tomatoes and onions in the dish. Once it cooled down a bit after about 10 or 15 minutes, I found the sauce to be not as bad. A few slices of the steak were a bit chewy. And the oddest thing at all was the french fries that was mixed right into the whole meal. That clearly was labeled on the menu but I still ordered the dish anyway. I don't know, I should've went with the fish.
This place is great! The food & pisco sours are awesome! The staff is great. They have indoor & outdoor seating.
The flavors jumped off the table here. It was a party of 5, so we ordered the Matador Combo. It came with Rotisserie chicken, salad, rice, beans, frankfurters and fries, ripe plantains and green plantains. More than enough for all of us. They offer a 2 for 1 margarita special, but we had to encourage them to make the 2nd one stronger.
Hell yes. If you come during happy hour (3-6) you will save some mula and get the best margaritas in Boynton Beach. 7$ bomb margs. The bartenders have good instinct. People are missing out on the grilled steak, perfected Peruvian style pollo (with amazing sauces) and ceviches if they don't order food!!! Drink a few margs here then head to the beach. You won't be disappointed. Especially if you come back after the beach.
The food, the service, and the ambiance were all excellent! Marco was our server and he was spot on. Could not ask for better! The menu was diverse with a Latin based flair and we all sampled each other's dishes. Everyone was pleased. We recommend the empanadas and the green sauce that comes with them as a big winner. I had the ceviche. Spicy with a shrimp and fish mix it was the biggest serving I've ever had and it was wonderful! Public parking is nearby and the area is popular for the relaxed nightlife. Five stars!
One of my favorite destinations in the world has always been Colombia. From the warmth of the people there, the sights AND the food, it should be on top of any traveler's list! I sometimes find myself craving some of those amazing dishes and today I decided to try Pío Pío in Boynton Beach. This place did not disappoint! I started off with some parcha juice (passion fruit) and it was refreshing and delicious. You can't go to a Colombian restaurant and not try the chicharrones. Pío Pío's chicharrones were amazing. The meat was moist and the skin was crispy - exactly the way a good chicharrón is made! The chicken soup was extremely well made as well. Add the friendly and super attentive staff to complete the great dinning experience! If you like Colombian food, this place should be at the top of your list! Viva Colombia!

This is a really tough review to write! Not because I didn't enjoy the food, we did, but the service and the vibe outdid the food and I'm not sure which one to give the rating on... There is no real decor to comment on but the wood tables and comfy chairs with ever so slightly mismatched silverware gave the place a homey family feel. Super friendly staff plus their willingness to answer questions and help with special requests really solidified that charm and welcoming atmosphere. Unfortunately though, while the food and drinks were decent, I was constantly saying this is 'almost' really good. Chicharones were fatty and cooked perfectly but not seasoned, steak was flavorful and cooked nicely but not tender, the egg on top of the steak was overcooked so there was only one tiny spot of jammy yolky goodness, ceviche ingredients were tender and succulent but the sauce tasted like thousand island dressing, etc... read more
Pio Pio is known in other states for being a delicious spot to grab some meat, but it's finally in Florida and I am thrilled! This restaurant has a great location pretty close to the beach, making it a perfect spot to grab dinner. It's half indoor half outdoor, so you can take your pick depending on the weather. The staff is friendly and willing to offer suggestions on the menu, which I appreciated! The menu is pretty large so there should be something for everyone. As I looked around, my mouth watered at all of the delicious dishes and drinks coming out of the kitchen. Even their smoothies look out of this world!!!!! I opted for the steak because I am a creature of habit, and I must say their was amazing. Juicy, tender cooked perfectly. Skirt steak is usually a hit or a miss, but I would say here it was a hit. read more
We went on a Tuesday evening and it wasn't busy at all. I think we were one of three couples that were there and we sat outside since it was nice. I had a Groupon to use and it was worth it. The appetizer was Spanish sausage with corn cake. It was alright. I thought it could have been a little more flavorful. The chaufa rice came with either beef, chicken strips, or vegetables, and I went for the beef strips. There was a ton of rice and all of it was mixed in a chaufa sauce with sesame oil. It also came with a side of plantains. I really enjoyed it and would get it again. Our waitress was friendly and sweet. She was really helpful when we had questions about the menu and it came out in a reasonable amount of time. It was so nice not to be among a crowd of people and we were able to eat our dinner with a nice breeze. read more

This was a Groupon visit. Almost forgot I had it. It was expiring this week, so it was time to try. Location Great location. Arrived around 6:30 on a Tuesday night. Free parking across the street.. two other restaurants on the same corner.. Seating Inside was empty. We had our pick.. Friendly staff greeted us. Food After a quick scan of the menu, I ordered the Steak and onions. I picked Fried Yuca... my new crave... especially with garlic sauce. Entree and sides were delicious. Also tried the Chicken Soup... interesting potatoes, light and perfect starter. Drink Before the food came out, I asked for a drink menu and ordered a Pina Colada. Halfway through my meal.... no drink. Stopped the "main guy" and asked about my drink and actually canceled it since I wouldn't have time to enjoy it. Well, he was trying to be nice and brought it without a charge. But, it was a virgin one! Soooo... nice frosty is what I enjoyed with my meal. He was short of a Bartender he said. Yet a group of 6 at the bar got their drinks with no problem, even the table of 4 that sat after us. Food, atmosphere, location and staff welcoming, just not on point. That meant my nice waiter put in my drink order wrong. Then, the handsome host thought he was doing me a favor. Just a bit chaotic, but worth my Groupon. read more

This is a New restaurant in East Boynton right by the beach. As soon as my fiancée and I went inside we were greeted promptly and given menus. The food is a mix of Colombian and Peruvian dishes. I ordered the Bandeja Paisa which is a typical Colombian dish and let me tell you it did not disappoint. I am Colombian and it was everything Colombian in a delish meal! I will definitely be returning. The service was amazing! read more

Welcome to the neighborhood. Honestly the best authentic Central/South American food in the southeastern part of the county. The ambiance outside is like backyard dining. There are a few tv's with a variety of shows to view while sipping a very flavorful sangria. Lots of apple bits and fruit flavors. Not too sweet and very refreshing. We opted to eat outside though there were a few eating inside. We were greeted by two wonderful servers. Jaime and Carlos. They did the tag team thing so our water and sangria glasses were always filled and our food came out hot and fresh. The two sauces they brought to the table in complimentary ramekins were delicious. The white garlic lime sauce which is also their salad dressing is so good. The green sauce carries some heat to it but it compliments many of their food items. We started with a chicken empanada and the chicharones. Both were full of flavor and devoured. Both are a must order again. Their entrees on the menu all sound delicious and made for hard decisions. We both went with fish dishes. The whole fried snapper with yuca fries and tostones are my all time favorite if not too greasy and this was cooked and served perfect. Big portion and a great combination of textures. The Corvina fish dish is light, flaky, and a delicious mixture of seasonings paired with rice and their beans instead of steamed veggies. So good that my husband claimed he might never order anything else here except he wants to try the chicken and a few other entrees. We both enjoyed everything about this newly opened restaurant and are thrilled that it is authentic and has wonderful service and food. They are currently in a soft opening mode but expect to need a reservation once word gets out on how great this place is. read more
First time in the boynton beach pio pio since I know this opened up pretty recently and must say I was pretty pleased . It would have been a 5 star but there were a couple areas where it fell off I think - first the empanadas were not great at all ; lacked seasoning and overall did not feel right . Also - the place lacked a Colombian touch ; I know this is supposed to be a Colombian spot - but the Colombian vibe wasn't really there - the decor was lacking in my opinion . Now towards the good - the bandeja paisa was very good - specially the beans ; whoever is cooking those beans is really crushing it . Great service , fish was great , the chorizo , and all other elements were as they should be . Great juice as well ; it was a little thick and felt more like a smoothie but still was great . Would definitely come back for a second round - give this place a try if you are in the area read more

We were drawn in by the Spanish guitar music and the open, dog friendly patio. We weren't sure if they had vegan options but the staff found several options for me. Ah-mazing sangria. That and the music alone make it worth a visit. The testones and spicey guac were soooo good! They had a great looking vegtable rice dish and said they were adding the impossible burger to the menu as well. Vegan approved and I hope they add more. read more

We are so glad we came in to try out this new restaurant serving up amazing authentic Columbian and Peruvian fare. The menu is extensive and the food is reasonably priced. Carlos was our server and everyone in the restaurant was super friendly and excited to be there. We started with a chicken empanada which has a light super crunchy exterior and moist tasty shredded chicken inside. It was so good I wished we ordered more. A spicy green sauce and a garlic sauce were both wonderful. We were all not drinking but they brought over a sample of their sangria and we will definitely be back for it. Minced pieces of apples were a great touch and it was refreshing. My friend ordered the chaufa rice with chicken. The portion size was huge and she gladly took home at least 1/2 to enjoy again. My boyfriend got the 1/4 rotisserie chicken with fries. It was hot, juicy, and flavorful. I couldn't decide what to get so I went for the Bendeja Paisa which has a little of everything. I subbed the plantains (allergies) for yuca and asked for the skirt steak. It also comes with rice, beans, chicharonnes, chorizo, arepa, avocado, and a fried egg. Everything was delicious! The steak was tender and flavorful and cooked perfectly (medium rare). I devoured it. I was totally stuffed and I still have more yumminess leftover. The staff was explaining some of the after dinner coffee drinks and we cannot wait to come back to try them. They are having their grand opening on Saturday. Everyone needs to come out and support this new restaurant. You will not be disappointed. read more

Im going to start by saying maybe We chose the wrong day to come and give them a little benefit of the doubt. We come in excited to try this new to us restaurant spot but soon got a little dissapointed. Started by having to look for someone to sit us down. Another young kid took the order and everything was going fine till we gor the order. The breaded chicken we got and the breaded steak where over fried and dried up. I would had passed that to the side but after the kid served us never came back to ask if we where ok or needed something else! Just to say i was chocking on the dry beef and rice. At this point i lost all interest of ever coming back! They need more attention to detail from thw kitchen to the table! Shame on management for letting this go thru! read more
