As I sipped my pint of Singha, we ordered fish cakes and some soups to start, then 5 entrees - Thai Green Curry with chicken, Thai red curry with beef, pork with cashew nut and chili, pad see ew with beef, and pad kee mao with chicken. This was really a perfect amount of food, as portions aren't enormous. One could easily have a main and share a starter or two, though you will be full! 2 servings of Jasmine rice wasn't quite enough to go with 3 rice dishes, you will want to order one rice per entree. The Kradook Moo Tom Zab soup was great, and not like anything I've had at a Thai restaurant before. Flavorful and a bit sour from the tamarind, it was dotted with chunks of bone-in spare rib that tasted delicious and added a richness to the broth. Not as spicy as advertised, but still good. The curries were both good, though the the green curry was my special favorite - very well made, wonderful flavor in the sauce. The Pad See Ew didn't taste like it normally does, and it came with cabbage instead of broccoli, so the Pad Kee Mao was my favorite noodle dish. Loved the taste from the basil leaves, and there are chunks of veggies dotted throughout. Only £78 for 2 1/2 beers, a wine spritzer, 3 starters, 5 mains, and 2 rice. I'd say that's a bargain! I like the decor as well, it's an atmospheric and comfortable place to dine, and the servers were very sweet. Would come back here anytime we're in town.

I got the Vegan combo, which came with vegan egg rolls, stir fried veggies, and red curry with tofu. These were all very tasty, and in my opinion, tofu tastes better than meat in curry as it doesn't try out and become rubbery. They do close between 14:30 to 18:00 (2:30pm to 6pm), so try to come for proper meal times. Highly recommend this place.

The location on Fore Street, on the southern edge of the centre, is not the location you might expect to find a good restaurant, but it's clear on entering that a lot of thought and investment has gone into the venue. The welcome was warm and friendly but not over-familiar - and we were seated and served very quickly. The choice covers a range of familiar Thai dishes, with vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options clearly labelled. The meat is sourced with care - ie free range and local. Staff were happy (within reason) to adjust the spiciness of dishes to suit Our food was very good - my Tom kha soup was excellent - fragrant and flavourful - and both a green curry and ginger stir-fry similarly impressed. Fish-cakes were a little disappointing but, overall, we were very happy with the dining experience. Overall, two courses with drinks came to £45. I'd be very happy to recommend it and happy to return.

Now as a restaurant it has gone from strength to strength since opening it's larger premises! What can I say about the place, the food is excellent, the price is about right, the service is fantastic and you leave feeling as if your custom has been valued. A group of 15 went there for dinner not long ago and despite booking late, were greeted warmly and looked after all evening. If you're looking for somewhere good to go for good food and a welcoming environment, you can't go far wrong with Cafe Asia!

I was taken there by friends who had been before and quickly were becoming addicted to the delicious food. Well they were right; the food was really good. We started with Tom Yum Gai soup, which is probably one of the best I've ever had. It was quite spicy, but with lots of flavour as well. We also shared squid and prawns for starters which were equally good. My Malaysian chicken curry was fantastic but unfortunately I was so full I could not eat it all - luckily they were happy to provide a doggy bag. The service was really good and attentive. They were brilliant at recommending dishes and making sure that they would be to your taste before letting us order. We had beer with the starters and white wine with the mains and they brought the wine at the best time. We did not run out of drink, neither did we feel we had to down anything or leave our wine to go warm. The lychee dessert was nice and so was the coffee served in a cafetiere. The prices are very reasonable at about £8 for mains. I would really recommend this place for an oriental night out - they also do take away and deliver to the local area.
