A group of 5 of us made a booking here on a bank holiday Monday, and there weren't many empty tables - clearly a popular place! As I sipped my pint of Singha, we ordered fish cakes and some soups to start, then 5 entrees - Thai Green Curry with chicken, Thai red curry with beef, pork with cashew nut and chili, pad see ew with beef, and pad kee mao with chicken. This was really a perfect amount of food, as portions aren't enormous. One could easily have a main and share a starter or two, though you will be full! 2 servings of Jasmine rice wasn't quite enough to go with 3 rice dishes, you will want to order one rice per entree.
The Kradook Moo Tom Zab soup was great, and not like anything I've had at a Thai restaurant before. Flavorful and a bit sour from the tamarind, it was dotted with chunks of bone-in spare rib that tasted delicious and added a richness to the broth. Not as spicy as advertised, but still good.
The curries were both good, though the the green curry was my special favorite - very well made, wonderful flavor in the sauce. The Pad See Ew didn't taste like it normally does, and it came with cabbage instead of broccoli, so the Pad Kee Mao was my favorite noodle dish. Loved the taste from the basil leaves, and there are chunks of veggies dotted throughout.
Only £78 for 2 1/2 beers, a wine spritzer, 3 starters, 5 mains, and 2 rice. I'd say that's a bargain! I like the decor as well, it's an atmospheric and comfortable place to dine, and the servers were very sweet. Would come back here anytime we're in town. read more
