Really cosy, little independent coffee shop with some of the best coffee and chai I've ever had…read more It's just a little bit up the hill from the other main shops, but well worth a short walk. They asked me where I was used to buying my coffees from, and were really interested in the detail of the specific drink that I wanted and then made me one that was just perfect. Even offered to replace it if I wasn't happy with exactly how they have made it. And then on top of all of that they had an absolutely delicious gluten-free cake.

Had a lovely time visiting here in early summer -- the staff were so friendly and helpful. We tried a ploughman's lunch, the kids "Munch pack", some of the local ales, and a cream tea. All the ingredients were very fresh and presented so attractively. This spot is off the beaten path and a charming way to get away from some of the beach crowds. My mouth is watering thinking back on these treats! We needed to go inside the wee shop to order, and the staff kindly brought everything out to us even though it's not really full service. As they had time due to the late lunch hour, they accommodated us very nicely.

The coffee is genuinely some of the best I've had. Such a variety of brews and varieties without being novelty or over the top. The beans are from a local roaster in Axminster who apparently you can go visit for yourself. The staff are really friendly and welcoming without being in your face, and full of knowledge about the food and coffee they serve if you wanna know about all that. Very jealous of the locals who get to frequent this place regularly.

However, not to the servers eyes. She apologised and took the cup away for it to be replaced by another. She pointed out that the original did not have enough 'froth' on the surface. Food was pretty substandard. The location however is lovely, my only hope is that the member of staff was having an off day

However the owners were surly, served unexciting, overpriced cheaply produced sandwiches and had run out of most things, which we were informed of without any word of an apology. The upstairs room where we sat was freezing - as cold as outside and drably decorated. Another family were also complaining about the cold. The owner rudely told them off for moving the chairs around to fit their party and went off muttering. We were never asked if everything was okay or if we'd enjoyed it...or given a smile. It's a shame this place is such a disappointing rip off in such a great spot. We were fleeced.
