We went for the 1st time years ago after a hurricane had hit & was extremely impressed. Then we started going on a regular basis & was amazing. Then Covid hit & ever since they service has went down. Food is good but service is terrible. There was one amazing waitress but haven't seen her (I believe her name was Victoria) but the rest of staff...yeah not good read more

This is by far the best Mexican food in Victoria. The fajitas are great. Service is very good and the prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you get. People have finally discovered the pinto bean and the parking lot is full regularly now. read more

This place is amazing! I am super simple and just get a bean taco, but it was so hard to find a good place. The struggle was real! The place is super cool on the inside and their customer service is nice. The seasonings they use in their entrees is so good, plus they get the food out fast! There's a reason it's so popular. Highly recommend it, even for a plain Jane like me lol read more

Yummy Service can sometimes take awhile BC it gets so packed but it's worth the wait. Chips and salsa are pretty good. It gets loud but what can you expect when it's packed but there's tons of seating. There's a place for big groups. The food is really good and fresh. read more

Been there three times and food good and service good. They give you queso and red sauce with your chips. Not the greatest but Good.

Pinto Bean - Lengua taco delicioso - Tex-Mex Near Me - Victoria, Texas

Horrible. From out of town came here, bc I was sent from another restaurant in Victoria that doesn't have breakfast tacos fyi (who doesn't have breakfast tacos?) Anyways. Was greeted ok by the hostess, sat down and took my drink order. Came back with my drink, no straw. Then they bring out the chips, salsa, and cheese. Horrible. Nasty tomatoe sauce and flavorless cheese. Literally sat for a good 10 minutes and no one ever came to take my order. And if that wasn't enough the flies. Omg the flies. Landing all over the table and on the rim of the salsa bowls. Horrible place. Never ever read more

Recently had breakfast here and thought it was very good. Had a large breakfast taco. That was the biggest breakfast taco I have ever seen. I like the green spicy sauce also. The price was great at around $6.00. I'll return. read more

My favorite Tex Mex in Victoria. Lots of variety, huge portions (yay, leftovers!), and cheap drinks. The only con I've found is sometimes close to closing, you might just be abandoned. So don't come then. Mostly, though, I love! read more

Always great food and always great service! My favorite place to go in Victoria. One of the cleanest restaurants I have been to and have never had anything here that I did not like. read more

Deluxe enchilada plate came out with rotting avocado slices. When we told the waitress she brought out more of the same rotting avocado slices with more black spots. Asked to see the manager and they never came to our table. Never again! read more

Extremely rude manager and waitstaff. They messed up our order and refused to fix it.

If you enjoy salty, greasy food - this is your place! Food is good, service is above average, but this is NOT health food. Welcome to TexMex on steroids. read more

Holly cow! Amazing food! Outstanding service from the sweetest little lady. If you don't eat here once a week your missing out on having a happy life. I had a burrito special on Thursday. When they put my plate in front of me I couldn't believe the size of the plate! Then it tasted amazing. Will be here again! read more

Why oh why can't Victoria have some decent Mexican food? The gratis queso is pretty gross, the fajita nachos are flavorless and the enchiladas are crazy greasy. No bueno. On the plus side, the servers are friendly. read more

Food was absolutely repulsive!!! Tried this restaurant based on the other Yelp reviews...atmosphere was ok, waitress Victoria was pleasant but the food, EEEWWW! I ordered the Victoria plate, yes ironic, the taco had what was supposed to be ground beef in it, felt and tasted like mush, no flavor at all, it was disgusting. Then the chicken enchilada had brown chicken in it mixed with Lord knows what! Again, disgusting. My husband ordered the taco salad, served with the same beef mush, on top of that, the mush meat was cold!! We are visiting Victoria and searched for a Mexican restaurant with the highest ratings, boy were we Disappointed!!!!!! read more

The tables weren't busted properly, the waiter didn't know the beer stock, we had to walk to the bar for extra plates and beer, and the waiter abruptly, and without warning, turned the game off that our party of 25 was watching. When we asked him to return to the game that we were watching, he replied "no, the rest of restaurant wants to watch the soccer game." Apparently, "the rest of the restaurant" that he was referring to was about 5 other patrons and the remaining 10 employees. Also, we determined that a 40% gratuity was added to our check (I'm hoping this was a mistake). Perhaps worse of all, the food was less than mediocre. I hope the reader's experience is different. read more

Where to begin? The food portions were big, but when the rice is mooshy, beans tasted like they came out of a can and the enchiladas were stuffed with flavorless meat...priced cheap but in essence you definitely get what you pay for. After the waiter asked if everything was ok, I of course mentioned my displeasure with what I was served, he asked if I needed a box to take home the food because I hadn't eaten it...ummmmmm, no thank you. Worst Mexican food I've ever eaten. Don't be deceived by the yummy looking pictures because the food tastes nothing like it looks. read more

Just had breakfast here this morning. I live in Victoria and if going out for Mexican food this is my place. Not fancy, not pricey but ca Rico! Large delicious portions at good prices. South Texas is known for breakfast tacos (Everywhere else calls them Burritos) and this is the place to get them for sure. Lunch and Dinner plates are also very good. I assume they have a little ole Mexican woman chained to the stove back there. We actually entertained a party of 40 friends and family there and had no complaints. Try it you'll like it! Delicioso, Sabroso, Rico! read more

Great food, generous portions, cozy feel and nice servers. You'll love this place too!

Has wonderful breakfast burritos and reasonably priced. Parking is bad, but worth it.

Fantastic food at a fantastic price! My second time at this place and cannot get enough of it. Portion sizes are large for the price you pay. read more

This was a good place to eat until we had a server called iesha because she was so rude we had took our order and she messed up the whole meal and we ordered food and she only gave us like 3 pieces and we had asked for more food and she gave us an attitude. And she also put 15 dollars added to our tip and we had ask for a drink and she goes and slams it on our table and we asked for three salsa and refused to give it to. read more

Normally we love this place but tonight was very disappointing. I'm hoping it was due to either short and or new staff in kitchen. They brought out my taco salad w 1 of my husband's plates BUT left on tray at bar behind us where it sat for like 2 minutes and lady sitting at bar reached over our food then it took forever for them to bring his 2nd plate to the tune of he had already finished the 1st plate. Granted I had a taco salad but it was too cold. When they did bring the 2nd plate just warned the plate was hot, no apology for taken so long. This is not the normal service we get. read more

I don't know why it took me two years to come try this place. The food is amazing, the waitstaff is very friendly, and the restaurant doesn't have the dirty look of so many others here in Victoria. Overall I give it an A+, and will definitely be a repeat customer. read more

Pinto Bean is definitely in my top Mexican places in Victoria (which actually isnt very hard because Victoria has terrible Mexican food). This location is sort of random and hard to find, but the interior is large and comfortable. There is just something homey about the place. The service was very good and as per usual at Mexican places, there are a TON of food options. Any place that does good tamales rates high in my book, and they did a good one. The one downfall was that a lot of the flavors seemed a bit... weak? I feel like there might have been a large helping of lard in the beans and some sauces. I just didnt get that really nice, flavorful pop I was looking for in Mexican. Overall, not a bad option, and definitely one of the best in Victoria. read more

The only complaint was slower service! Good prices, good quality, good presentation, and good creativity! The hubby and I give 4 thumbs up! Loved the cheese dip and virgin piña colada! read more

My husband an I ordered breakfast here. Our waitress was friendly nice and attentive she gets a 5 star. Our food was the reason for a one star. My husband and I both ordered breakfast and it wasn't good the bacon tasted weird like it was a poor quality bacon and the hash browns tasted like they were cooked in old grease . Pancakes were to firm almost hard . The tortillas are thick, rubbery and just don't taste good . Scrambled eggs were way over cooked an crumbly like maybe it wasn't real egg so strange and tasted like old grease. We will never be back. read more

Pinto bean. Hmmmm. Well, barbacoa taco was good but really greasy! Had to degrease meat and asked for another tortilla.... Good flavor! Menudo, not good. Strong tang on the back end like they didn't rinse the meat. Took one spoonful and sent it back. Manager Maggie was accommodating. Waitress Amanda was awesome!!! read more

Fresh decent Tex-Mex served hot and served quickly. I'll give it a solid workmanlike B.

Today at 10 am we came to this restaurant to enjoy a family breakfast. And instead was met with a bad server who was constantly rolling her eyes at us especially when changes made in our order. she was sarcastic with a bad attitude. When we asked for a manager she stood by the front counter for a long time keeping us waiting polishing silverware and chatting with other servers avoiding our request to speak with her. When she finally arrived and was informed of our bad experience she was sarcastic, rude, and unconcerned about the situation offering no apologies. Problem : oatmeal was too runny floating in milk had to be returned, did not want replacement because problem was not fixed. Problem : flour tortillas stale and hard, also ordered corn tortillas as back up but they were rubbery and cold.( sad! tortillas were not fresh today) Problem: server did not attend to table our drinks were not refilled and she walked away before you finished talking to her and seemed to not want to deal with us. And we were not demanding and tried to keep the experience pleasant but the staff made that near impossible . Overall: Mediocre food, and horrendous service from both server and management.. read more

Extremely disappointed with my lunch today. Had the 10.95 tilapia and shrimp lunch plate. The menus says catfish but have been told for months that is a misprint for the fish is tilapia. Today the single fillet has shrunk to about 2-21/2 "x 4 " piece of fish was no more than a 1/4" thick. Have never in my life seen a serving so small. I was charged an extra $1 for my request to have it grilled along with shrimp instead of fried. This is the first time that I felt I had been actually cheated in a restaurant. When I brought it to the service staff I was pretty much dismissed. Their are probably more than 200 Mexican restaurants even in tiny little Victoria so I will not return to try a 3rd time, two disappointments are enough. Wait staff was apologetic and polite. read more

I have been to several mexican restaurants in Victoria, but this by far was the worst experience. I was visiting from out of town and was told by my family this was a good place to eat. After our last experience, we will not be going back. The food was served cold and half the orders were wrong. After speaking with the manager, he seemed cluless and had no customer service skills. To top it off, the bill was still over $120.00. I have no problem paying that amount for a GOOD meal, but this was very disappointing. At least take 10% off the bill for the bad service. I will not return. read more
