Do not under any circumstances get a car wash here. The machine for payment only takes bills and doesn't give change, so when I put in a $20 bill, it said "Use Correct Change Only," which it didn't say BEFORE I put in the money. There are no instructions (see photo). Then it didn't give me the $20 back and wouldn't wash the car. I asked the clerk, but she said there's no manager on duty. When it comes to gas im really picky when choosing gas for my car and shell gas is one out of 2 places ill go with! In California the highest octane you can choose is 91 and at Shell its labeled as 91 nitro. I highly suggest you choose this one when regarding performance for your car and plus the "nitro" sounds cool! In California Gas isn't looking to cheap right now but at this gas location with a purchase of a car wash you can get 20 cents off every gallon pumped so in my head why not and went with it since the bugs on the front grill won't come off by themselves! I ended up selecting car wash as well and noticed instantly on the gas reader 20s cents off the original price disappeared! After pumping my gas I got the receipt with the code for my car wash and pulled into the car wash window typed in my code and proceeded to enter with a green light letting me know its safe to enter. As soon as I saw the red light I instantly stopped parked my car and sat back and watched a beautiful Water show from my front windshield. The car wash was literally 5 minutes with a extra 3 minute dry time where the dryer actually got off all the droplets. As soon as I got the green light I proceeded through and on my way to enjoy my day with a fresh wash and a full tank of high octane fuel where you can really feel that extra boost! The best gas out there and some great car washes where you can save big while doing both! They also have your typical convenience store items in here as well such as your snacks, drinks, and food. The Pinole Vista Shell is in a beautiful location especially during the day when one can take in the sweeping view of the surroundings while fueling up. Gas prices were consistently good. This is a gas station I liked to stop to fill my car up when in the area and once I figured out how to get into the station. The space by each pump is large and maneuvering in and out of both the pumping stalls and the gas station overall is easy. Took me a little time to figure out how to best navigate to the station when in the area and trying to cross heavy traffic to get here, but once I did this station became one of my favorite places to fuel up while living in the East Bay. read more

Female cashier is rude and doesn't seem to want to help customers and a lot of times does not allow customers to use their rewards. After arguing with one customer outside she told other customers they can shop somewhere else. She appeared to be so upset she took it out on other customers, who just wanted to get gas or purchase something out the store. Shows no unprofessionalism and unacceptable customer service. Cannot believe what I witnessed at this location. Customers were being refused service for no apparent reason. $3.95 or $3.75 for regular?! The Shell street light sign says $3.75 for regular as I drove by. I realized I needed gas so I drove in. Gave $20 to the cashier and walked out to my pump to pump gas. The pump LED reads $3.95. Being that the sign clearly reads otherwise I addressed the issue with the cashier. She was unable to help me. There was nothing that the cashier could do. I'd like to believe that I and the staff agree that it is the owners responsibility to not mislead the general populace in so many words. One star is generous! Stopped to get a fountain drink. Upon seeing the sign saying "32oz. drinks 99cents" I decided to get a 32 oz. drink. Assistant manager, Barbie, rings it up at $1.89. When I tell her the sign (which is wrapped around the base of the cups) says 99cents. She tells me they're in the middle of a price change. The conversation proceeded with me politely expecting her to correct my total. She was insistent that the price had changed and was unapologetic about their mistake. Well, don't know about all the haters, but I came here to get some gas, and decided to fill it up when i noticed the price wasn't bad compared to where I usually fill up. And since my car was filthy from sitting out at long term parking at the airport for several days, I decided to get a wash for $8 (the Deluxe). This lowered the cost of my gas by $0.20 a gallon, so seemed good to me. Inside I got a drink and snacks, and the person working here spoke perfect English and was friendly and talkative. The car wash was an automatic brush system, which seemed like it was more thorough and longer than other similar tunnels I have been through, although the air dry system wasn't as good as others I have been in. read more

Witnessed faulty pump #11 break on August 13, 2015 around 2pm. The gasoline sprayed into the air for many minutes, soaking the car and the pregnant driver of the vehicle. The gas station attendant and manager had trouble turning the gas off due to the malfunctioning pump so the situation got worse with gas creating a pool underneath her car. Aside from their apparent lack of safety maintenance of their equipment, what was the worst was that the manager was angry and yelled at the poor pregnant lady, when it was obviously the fault of the equipment. The manager had the gull to demand that the driver pay for the gas and broken equipment. To be fair, the manger didn't force the driver to pay for the faulty requirement but also did not reverse the charges for all of the gas that sprayed and leaked everywhere. I hope the baby doors not come out with birth defects due to this... Shame on this business! read more

Looks like the majority of people here experienced a big fat FAIL when filling up at this gas station. No, I didn't use Debit Card, I used cold hard cash to pay for my gas. But i noticed after circling two times in this gas station that many of the pumps were out of service. Ideally, a gas station fully functional is great, but several broken pumps is a big no-no. I went about my business inside, gave the guy $40, he seemed cool, but at the same time, different then most cashiers, but generally was a nice cool dude. I went back to my car, pumped about 8 gallons of gas, at a rate of $4.29. Californian's going broke at this rate. My overall experience was what you would expect of a typical gas station visit, but low prices and quick service is what I generally seek, but functionality wise, a gas station should be 100% fully functional and that's what holds this place back. read more

I had to go here last week because it was the only place open at the time. Same s--t different day. There was still broken security tape on the gas pumps, almost no water in the squeegee tank, and upon further inspection it was dirty again. No suds were noticeable in the squeegee tank either. It is obvious there are things being ignored by the management of this place. Good price on gas. It's easy to get in and out since there is signal right in the front. There are plenty of pumps so it mostly not too crowded. It's close to the freeway so I usually fill in before getting on the freeway. Inside prices are comparable to other convenient stores near by. Overall a Good store. read more
