I cannot say enough good about this place! I've been waiting to post my review until I completed my…read moreclass here and now I can firmly say that this place is fantastic! The Family Companion actually holds classes at multiple locations across Western New York, and the class I took was at their location on Southwestern Blvd. Their classes are all generally 8 weeks in length and they offer puppy training classes, senior dog training, the family companion class, graduate companion as well as others like therapy and an agility fun course. My dog and I did the family companion class with Kim Sauer. There were a total of 9 dogs in the class so it wasn't overcrowded which was great for my dog, who has some anxiety issues among other dogs/strangers. The instructor was incredibly patient, knowledgable and friendly. If anyone had a question or issues with anything, she took the time to assist and explain things adequately. I can't wait to get into our next class here and would highly recommend this facility to those looking for a good place to train their dog. They're also very reasonably priced which is a definite bonus!

I have a one and a half year old dachshund mix that I rescued. He is so scared of people and dogs…read moreand needed socialization desperately. I took him to this class with 6 other dogs and their owners and initially he was shaking and panting and yawning and would not even take a treat or look at me during the first session. Marcia was so patient and encouraging and you could tell she really cared. After the course my dog was completely paying attention to me, not shaking, panting, or yawning. He learned most of the common commands when he didn't know any to begin with. Such a great class for such a reasonable price!

We have been coming to Dog Days of Buffalo for various reasons for a while now. They have an…read moreamazing facility! It's clean and fresh smelling with the best doggie day carers around. When you enter, there are two big screen TVs so you can see your pet on one of them. Our Maisie had a blast going to "school" for half-days when it was winter and she needed to run around more than in our house. When we would pick her up, they'd announce, "I need Teeny Maisie from Small Dogs" and we could see all the small dogs run for the exit with JUST Maisie being brought to us! The dogs are SO SO happy. And a GOOD dog is a TIRED dog. We had Janelle for a couple of training classes, and she knows her stuff. We got excellent training and tips from Janelle - she was authoritarian and organized, and gave individual attention as needed. Highly recommend! Lastly, yes, there's more, we have had wonderful grooming done at DDB. Always a great job on grooming, very happy. This is a great business and we will continue to support them.

I am extremely disappointed and upset with my experience at this grooming facility. After what…read morehappened to my dog, I will never bring her back, and I strongly encourage other pet owners to thoroughly check their pets after every grooming appointment. My dog was groomed by Carly on Saturday, 9/19/26. During the grooming, the hair between my dog's toes was cut, and her skin was clipped in at least two areas. The attached picture clearly shows the injuries and blood. What is even more upsetting than the accident itself is how the situation was handled afterward. Accidents can happen, and I am a very understanding person. What I expect, however, is honesty, accountability, and communication. I was not informed that my dog's skin had been cut. Had Carly or the staff told me immediately, I could have started treating the affected areas much sooner. Instead, I had to email the clinic on Sunday 9/20/26 evening to request an appointment with the veterinarian because I was concerned about the injuries. I was advised to apply ointment until she could be seen. Unfortunately, the earliest appointment I could get with the actual veterinarian was 10/5/26. My dog was able to go in and see a technician on 9/21/26 for other services, but I still had to wait to have the veterinarian properly evaluate the injuries. I also contacted Chelsie, the store manager, about what happened. Rather than receiving an apology and accountability, I felt that she was defensive and more focused on defending her staff. I was also told that my dog's allergies were to blame. Regardless of whether my dog has allergies, that does not explain away the fact that her skin was visibly clipped and bleeding. If my dog's skin was accidentally cut during grooming, I should have been informed immediately. Unfortunately, this was not my first frustrating experience with this location. We had just moved to Buffalo from Derby and brought our dog there for her first appointment on 8/1/26. At that appointment, I asked to schedule her next grooming six weeks later. Leo, the staff member I dealt with on 8/1, told me that he scheduled her for 9/12/26. When we expected to bring her in, my dog was not on the schedule. I was then given the impression that someone else had forgotten to put her appointment on the calendar, even though Leo was the person who had scheduled it with me. As a result, we had to wait another week and didn't get her back on the schedule until 9/19/26. After everything that has happened, the lack of accountability and communication has completely destroyed my trust in this business. The grooming accident itself could have been an unfortunate mistake. The way it was handled is what I find unacceptable. If Carly accidentally clipped my dog's skin, I should have been told the same day. Instead, I discovered the injury afterward and had to take the initiative to contact the clinic myself. I will never take my dog back to this location. I strongly recommend that every pet owner carefully inspect their dog's entire body--including between the toes--after leaving any grooming facility. Do not assume that you will be informed if something goes wrong. My dog's safety and well-being come first, and based on my experience, I no longer have confidence in this facility.
