I had such a frustrating experience at this office, and honestly, I'm still shocked at how unprofessional the whole thing was. I had an appointment scheduled but was surprised by how high the co-pay was, so I called to see if I could change it to a regular consultation instead of doing the ultrasound. That's when things got really weird. The woman I spoke to sounded annoyed right away and told me I could still see the doctor, but if I changed my appointment, I wouldn't be allowed to talk to them about any of my concerns. No explanation, no medical reasoning just a flat-out refusal. I don't know about anyone else, but every time I've gone to the doctor, I've been able to talk to them about what's going on, and they recommend tests based on that conversation. Apparently, that's not how this place works. They just want you to come in, run a bunch of tests, and move on no actual discussion about your health. When I tried to push back and explain why that didn't make sense, the woman kept talking over me, cutting me off, and acting like I was the problem for even asking. I asked to speak to a manager, and instead of transferring me to someone who could actually help, she sent me to a coworker instead. When I finally got to the manager, she acted like I was making a big deal out of nothing and told me they'd have to "investigate" before addressing it. At that point, I just canceled my appointment because I couldn't trust this office to actually care about my health. I've never been to a doctor's office where they tell you can see the doctor, but you can't talk to them about your concerns. Seriously?? That is NOT how medical care is supposed to work. If you want to be listened to and actually treated like a patient, not just a number for insurance billing, I'd suggest looking somewhere else. And if anyone in charge of this facility or a doctor here is actually reading this review, please do something about your front desk staff. So many people in these reviews have already commented on how rude the woman at the front is, yet when I brought it up, the office manager tried to gaslight me, saying she's never had any complaints before. read more

Made an online appointment for an issue. Had bloodwork from primary care with instructions to see a gyno. The first appointment felt rushed. The doctor looked over the lab results from my primary reading from my phone and said I needed an ultrasound.. I sat in the chair the whole time while he stood at the door. I was like great lets get in there! No had to schedule. Came back a week later for ultrasound. That experience was fine. Doctor was in surgery but left word with staff that he would call with results after surgery. He did call but it was the next day. 7 months later scheduled appt online for same issue. The visit was fairly quick, no extended wait time. The staff and the doctor were friendly and addressed everything I wanted to discuss. A nurse called me on a Friday morning and left me a voicemail, but they close at 1 so I returned their call on Monday. I left a voice mail with the nurse on Monday then on Tuesday someone in the office called me and made it seem like I was not returning their calls and it was urgent I get a prescription that she would be sending. I left a voicemail on Wednesday letting them know the pharmacy did not receive my prescription, and it's now Thursday, and still no prescription has been sent. It's aggravating that I have left 2 or 3 voicemails without a call back. read more

Dr. Rivera is an ok doctor. I think its very telling what staff he has chosen to surround himself to assist him with medical matters. I went in for a yeast infection once and it took them TWO months to send in a prescription for me. Meaning, I was in utter discomfort for months not knowing what I had. I figured it was negative since I got no call back. After I called again for another appointment because it just seemed odd, they confirmed then that I had in fact tested positive for yeast. This is an utter lack of responsibility on the staff's end. They clearly do not care for patients. I am sure its not Dr. Rivera's responsibility, but he should be on top of his nurses making sure they are doing their job and caring for patients. On another note, the front desk is extremely rude. Have no compassion for patients at all. When I go in for appointments, they don't even ask for the reason of visit and tell you what room you have to with without escorting you. Take in mind, its a big office. The nurse just told me "you can go to room five and close the door behind you." I had to take my baby with me in one of the visits because the babysitter bailed, and I was told no children allowed. Luckily, grandma was there with me and she was able to take my son out in the hallway while I was seen. I've given this office too many chances because of Dr. Rivera. But at the end of the day, he is just an average doctor. Don't make the same mistake as I did. Find somewhere else. read more

The person who took my vitals was annoying but nothing major. Huge downside is this place is DIRTY. It''s a gyn Dr office for goodness sake. Old, dirty, outdated equipment. I visited this center for my free annual gynecological exam. I have visited this center before but today I had a terrible experience dealing with the staff and so-called "doctor" that saw me. I did not know and was never told that she, Amanda Fillip, wasn't a gynecologist, but a nurse. I started questioning her when she began giving me strange information about birth-control. I explained to her that I had skipped my periods at times, and she responded by stating that is not good because my uterine lining will develop a build-up which would require surgery to correct. If not, I could get endometriosis, which is ridiculous. I've never heard of this. In addition, she didn't even perform a normal pelvic exam (obviously, since she's not a MD). She simply administered the Pap smear test and took a sample of cells from my cervix. However, they did take a pregnancy test without informing me and then surprised me with that bit of info along with the extra charge that they wanted me to pay for since my insurance won't cover it. I have been to this center before and have had standard yearly exams in the past and never had to have a pregnancy test before. But for some reason, which they failed to communicate, they decided to give me one without telling me. And then charge me for it. Unbelievable!! Their "reasoning" from the front desk was that the "doctor" ordered it and that they could not give me my birth control prescription without it. Yet I was not examined by a doctor. So on top of them trying to nickel and dime me they deceive me by telling me nurse Fillip is a doctor. I called to complain about this and their response over the phone was that they always ask their patients if it is okay to be looked at by a nurse. This is false. They never asked me. I never was examined by a doctor. I was given strange information from a nurse about my period. I was charged for a pregnancy test that I never consented to. They didn't even bother telling me the results of that test. {facepalm}. Health centers like this are simply focused on their weekly numbers and bottom line. They will try to nickel and dime you and probably squeeze as much as they can from our insurance carriers. Be aware and don't assume anything. read more

Dr. Riveria is a nice doctor his nurse is very rude and unprofessional. She's not welcoming at all or friendly. She refuses to refill my prescription unless I get it from the pharmacy she prefer. When I get my annually exam I never receive updates about test. I never get to speak with Dr. Riveria alone the nurse always there just looking at me side eyed. I was able to get free care from a clinic while Pink Woman's Center charged me $150 in a consultation that yielded no care, twice. I feel that this clinic, though bilingual and outwardly supportive to women who come from different backgrounds, actually deceives customers into paying much more than necessary for basic women's health. Hospital doctor and staff are very good in and out by less than 30 minutes. Front staff is very rude and squeeze the money. 1) we are referred by another doctor as we are already know my wife is pregnant. They charged $150 to confirm pregnancy. This one don't go to our deductible. 2) They told my deductible is $3000. They collected all my deductible upfront. I already met my deductible with other facilities they are not talking about the refund. 3) last appointment I went they said ultrasound insurance is not covering I have to pay $300 extra. I am getting scared to go to this place. Only thing I went here is Doctor's are so good. As some other reviewers are mentioned staff is so rude.bad customer service.Please be aware of this place. Dr. Maria Torres is really amazing. She is so patient and really takes he time to listen. I had so many questions when I went in to see her last and she sat with me and thoroughly answered each one. She didn't rush me and wasn't short with me even though she had other patients waiting. I felt awful to take her time, but she was so kind and gentle and assured me that I would continue to be well taken care of. Dr. Torres and the whole office staff are very professional and kind. The whole process of scheduling is very easy with online options as well. Their office is brand new, state of the art, very inviting, very clean. Everyone there knows their stuff really well. I would highly recommend Dr. Torres to anyone looking for an obgyn. She's the best dr overall that I've ever been to. I'm glad she's so close by! read more

Dr. Rivera is the best OBGYN I have ever had in my 25 years and will be delivering our daughter come May 28th this year. Everyone who works here is amazing and super friendly. I have been a patient here since 2015 and I have never been disappointed. Lab results are given to you almost always the next day, they answer any and all questions you have without judgment, and treat you like a human instead of a walking paycheck. I am giving this place a 2 star just because the woman up there, GLADYS, is rude unprofessional, and lies. I took my sister there for her pregnancy check up and was getting lab work done to find out the sex of the baby. The doc, Dr. Joel Rivera is a very good doctor! He was friendly, yet professional, very detailed overall best doc out here. Doc advised that the test will be ready in 5 days. Fast forward 5 days later.... Nothing. We had planned a reveal party, knowing that we were advised the resupts will be out in 5 days. We had family flying in from all around the world. We call the office to find out the status and woman Gladys, starts being rude and evasive. She wasn't picking up the phone and yet it was during business hours. Ok. We can blame that on being busy. Fair enough. Fast forward to Monday. We call and as usual, we find our dear rude GLADYS! No help to the patients at all. She said the results are still need to be reviewed by the doc. Fast forward to Friday. NOTHING! Call the office and yet again... No answer. I hope yall are keeping count. This makes week number 2, after being advised 5 days. FINALLY, we speak to Ms. Rude on Monday who advises that the results just came back. Funny, coz it was advised that they were out the week prior. She tried to come up with excuses and lies. This is unfair to my pregnant sister as she shouldnt be going through this during her pregnancy. I wish there was a way to get Dr. Rivera for my future pregnancies without our dear Ms. Rude. read more

Amazing doctors (probably the best place with OBGYN doctors in town) but the nurse staff is TERRIBLE, I have had 3 test done one in sept.2016, nov 2016 and dec 2016. I called numerous times and they never had an answer for my test.... every time I come for my appointments they're very unprofessional and they have 0 customer service. After our first appointment with Dr.Torres back in September I knew immediately that she truly cared for her patients. She spent the first appointment going through all the questions a first time mom would have, was extremely warm and friendly and never rushed us. My husband and I were very impressed. Every appointment that followed we were always greeted by her kind nurses (especially Tyler) who would always made us feel welcomed. Dr. Torres was by our side throughout my pregnancy and was there when some complications arose. She would take time out of her day to call my personally to find out how I was doing or if I had any questions. I have never had a doctor who cared more than she does. I was not just a patient to her. I will absolutely use Dr. Torres again for all of my future pregnancies. Without skipping a beat I would recommend Dr. Torres to every woman I know. read more

I have been going to Dr. Rivera for almost 3 years now, and I never want another doctor. EVER. He is amazing. I've never had an issue with nurses or front desk or billing either, as some other reviewers are mentioning. They have never been ANYTHING but helpful to me. I recommend this center to everyone I know. I even told Dr. Rivera that if my husband left me, giving birth would be difficult, but if Dr. Rivera left me I would NEVER survive maternity.
