The soft serve is awesome!! I especially like some of the special concoctions, like the olive oil and hazelnuts. Try it!

Basic soft serve served in the most claustrophobic space in Albuquerque. Seating outside not adequate or considered.

We tried a few and loved all of them. The lady at the counter was very nice and they had a cute sitting option outside. It's cute, refreshing and delicious all at the same time.

After visiting a few of the other stores we made our way over to La Choco Salty & Sweet to grab a quick sweet to eat and support a local shop. From the outside it looks like just a chocolate shop, but the sweets section is just a small area up front and the rest of the store is tourist type products to buy like clothing, knick-knacks, etc. The sweets area is cute, they have a little cafe type area set up for a few people to sit and they have all the chocolates on display. Most of the treats look pretty good, but the prices are a bit high for some of the things. We generally enjoy grabbing a few truffles when visiting sweet spots like this so we selected four truffles to try. They do not have clear pricing in the case for the truffles nor do they provide any kind of hint to what is inside of some of them aside from the name of the truffle. I had asked the woman working what was inside one or two of them and she seemed annoyed I asked. We ended up getting the four we picked out anyway, and I was kind of bummed afterward. Not only were they $3+ EACH but they tasted like they had sat in the display case for several days. They were a bit hard, stale and didn't really have a lot of flavor to them so I was a little upset we had spent about $17 here on five things of chocolate that weren't really anything to write home about.

Sometimes you just have to spit it out: Five stars 'cuz it's cheap!…read more So for those who aren't too accustomed to the comings/goings of Albuquerque's Old Town, there was a froyo place, in this exact location, for about two years: Yay Yogurt (that's still the title of the free wifi, FYI). I loved Yay because they didn't charge by weight, like most shops, but instead charged via cup size, toppings were endless. Okay, I liked it, my daughter LOVED Yay. And like so many culinary lovers of ABQ, one day the place just up and closed. We lost Yay. Boo! I'm happy to report that we got our sweet treats back, with some sandwiches, coffee and frito pie, to boot. The owner of Blackbird Cafe (a wonderful cafe just a couple blocks away) brightened up the walls and put together a great little spot for a cuppa joe and a casual bite to eat, and get this: No, the froyo toppings aren't unlimited, they're... FIVE CENTS. The first topping is free, actually, but after that -- oh, please, don't fleece my wallet -- five cents each. One nickel. No no, don't worry, I've got the check. Look, toppings selection is limited, so are froyo flavors, but I'm not uppity about my cold treats. I'm so glad I can continue to spoil my daughter on the Plaza, and I appreciate the Little Sparrow theme, and the lovely plate that held my brain freeze.

And I don't know what other parking lot there is other than the one that is located Thankfully, I was able to find parking at the time that I visited. I tried a Chocolate Chip cookie and a Keto Samoa cookie. They were both pretty good. The chocolate chip had a sprinkling of sea salt on top, which for some reason brought out the flavor more. I enjoyed it very much. As for the keto cookie, that was amazing! Had chocolate and caramel swirled into the cookie. I should have bought another one. I think I'll have to get it again the next time I visit. I received good customer service, which is hard to come by these days. Especially during this pandemic! This place is definitely a must try kind of place! I appreciate that there is a place like this to go to and visit especially during these hard times. Thank you! I'll be back.

On a sunny Saturday, there were a lot of people taking in the smells and sights of El Vado. RBC had a collection of cookie dough pops, ice cream, ice cream sandwiches, and several different kinds of cookies and bars. I got the red velvet ($2), oatmeal toffee ($2), and 2 of the keto samoa bars for $4 each. The samoa bar, although messy, had the right amount of chocolate (I love plenty) and the red velvet was soft, cakey, and big. It was the kind of cookie you have dreams about My dad loved his oatmeal cookie. Glad to help support a small business. Will be back soon to enjoy a cookie in the sunshine! 2021 #4
