One of the Best Experiences I've Ever Had!…read more We recently participated in a team scavenger hunt with Pedego Electric Bikes Indy and it was an absolute blast! As someone who hadn't ridden a bike in over 20 years, I was a little nervous -- but the electric bikes were incredibly easy to maneuver and so much fun to ride! Scot and Cathy, the wonderful owners, made the entire experience smooth, welcoming, and memorable. Their kindness and passion for what they do really shines through. I'm new to Indy, so solving the clues and discovering local landmarks added an extra layer of excitement. Chatting with Scot and Cathy to see if we guessed correctly made our victories even sweeter! And of course, I can't forget the real stars of the show -- Hamilton and Schuyler, the adorable "employees of the month," who greeted us with wagging tails and made us feel right at home. I may be a little biased (our team did win, after all), but this was hands down one of the most enjoyable experiences I've had. Whether you're a local or just passing through, I highly recommend checking them out. Pedego Indy is an absolute gem!

Honestly it didn't seem horrible to me,of course that could be because we were told to arrive once the boat was secured for the day. When my husband and I arrived the computer system was down so the attendant said we were to enter free for the day since he couldn't take payments. The day just got better from here. Our friend, whose birthday it was only had a short wait, but to him it seemed long he said. Once he got to the front he was told we had a wait of approximately twenty minutes. During this time, my husband and I found front parking next to our friend's car, thanks to his wife. When we got in touch with our friends car he had us to bring our coolers and sunblock and we all met up at the restrooms where there were a few picnic tables as well as an awning to block the sun. We took the wait time to play a card game and snack. After a few hands of cards we were called back to check in and we got our life vests and saw a short video as well as signed waivers. Nikko was very helpful in getting us onto our boat and with a 'have a great time!' We were off! Peaceful waters for the day and we even saw friends which was a surprise as they were put with their sailboats. All in all it was a great way to spend the day and we would definitely go again!

Signs were posted with Marion County covid rules and said if you are unmasked then you must stay six feet away from people when outdoors. People seem to be obeying and each group kept their distance. You can rent single or double seat kayaks, canoes, paddleboards, paddle boats, Jon boats (a fishing boat) and pontoon boats. Even though a pontoon boat costs $175 minimum for 2 hours folks were renting them. Kayaks were the most popular rental and they had more than enough of them to not run out. We rented a Jon boat at $50 for the first hour, $70 for two hours. It comes with a Honda 10 hp outboard motor. These boats are brand new and so are the engines. Yes, you have to pull a cord like a lawnmower but being brand new they start on the first or second pull. Real easy! Our boat came with a paddle and seat cushions for all three occupants. Plus life preservers are provided free of charge for everyone renting a boat or board and being out on the water. The only thing missing was an anchor so drifting with the engine off became a little bit of a nuisance. The reservoir area from the Marina to the Bird Sanctuary has a ton of yellow buoys marking lanes for row boats. You don't have to stay out of the lanes but just be aware it is something you have to navigate around. They also rent electric bikes for $20 an hour. But they are not allowed on the trails. Check out their web site for discounts and coupons because I missed out. All of their staff was friendly and helpful. And they take into consideration many people are doing these things for the first time. I heard, "take your time" often. Safety was a priority with them.

We certainly felt grateful to hear of this city's amazing history. We went to the Speedway, heard about the famous authors, Brad Tarkington, Silverstein, Kurt Vonnegut and saw some beautiful architecture which included Monument Circle, museums, the theatres along Mass Ave, and the canal.

Not Ms. Carrie! She is out there hitting the road, enlightening visitors and showing the sights of Indianapolis to a appreciative audience. Circle City Tours is very flexible and will work with your schedule and timeline. I was picked up downtown for the tour but for a slight fee, Carrie dropped me off at an Airport hotel. I was grateful for her immense knowledge of the city, particularly historical facts. LOVED the trek through lovely Crown Hill cemetery, which is not morbid at all. Carrie pointed out the many grave sites of noted politicians, authors, artists, ex-Presidents and the locally prominent who lie in repose there. The Civil War burial section was also very touching. Ms. Carrie pointed out magnificent churches, memorials, art and children's museum, local eateries (Shapiro's Deli=yummy!) and the White River State Park area. We even got to check out all the Christmas decorations up at the Indy Speedway. She packs a lot into the 3-hour tours but when it's over, you feel a sense of accomplishment that you learned so much about Indianapolis-- a city made all the more beautiful than it already is, by the beautiful ministrations of Carrie and Circle City Tours. 5 YELP STARS.

Goodness, have I walked the canal about 50 times now?!…read more It's such a unique experience for Indy to have some water space in the middle of the city. This 3 mile loop will take you from 11th Street down to White River State Park to access the green space and extra trails down there. The canal water itself is not super cute, where there can be litter, and the water is rather opaque. They do drain the canal every so often to keep it from getting too uncute. The sidewalks are kept nicer, though a few spots in front of apartment buildings could use some TLC. There are also a few spots where the sidewalk is not level, so take caution if that is an issue. It's mostly stair access to the canal, but I *think* I've seen an elevator around the Ohio street basin. The canal has a few businesses along it for your merriment. Notably, there is Fresco on the Canal (I have a separate review for this) which is open March-October. Eiteljorg museum cafe is open daily around the lunch hours (11-3) and can be accessed through their patio gate. Entertainment wise, there is more going on. I've done the swan boat rentals, where you can pedal around on the canal. This is quite a workout! Rental of swan boats and kayaks is near the Ohio Street basin. There is also the gondolas, where your gondolier can sing, and they've always sounded marvelous. There's also a few stations for the Pacers Bikeshare around the canal, which is free for Marion County residents. Any time the weather is right, you can find me getting my steps in!

During the Holiday season they offer a wonderful tour "Lights at the Brickyard Brewery Tour". After emailing with Andy and John about pricing, we secured 2 buses for a private event. When I had questions about the event, Andy and John were super fast and emailing me a response. The day of the event, I got a text in the afternoon with the drivers info in case I needed anything and confirming the departure time. 10 mins before departure, I got a text that the buses had arrived downstairs and everyone headed downstairs. The Drivers Andy & Todd met us in the lobby and gave us a quick rundown of the nights schedule, gave us a sticker and loaded up the buses. First Stop was Traders Brewing Company which was just a few miles from our pick up point. Andy took the lead and introduced us to the brewery and explained the process of brewing and answered questions. We were offer 2 samples, pre-poured, but were given the option of sampling anything we liked. Andy and Todd both milled around and were talking to individuals and groups about how they were liking the beer and making sure everyone was having a great time. Several people were impressed and mentioned swinging by at another time after work. After about 35 mins we were given a 10 min heads up for departure/bathroom/purchase for the road. Next Stop was Wabash Brewing. This brewery was hoppin. We arrived and we immediately headed to the bar to try their brews. Live Music was playing and we even got to play some shuffleboard in a round robin fashion. Although the brewery was packed we had a great time trying unusual beer combos, a new band and new friends. Last stop for the night would be at the Speedway for the Lights at the Brickyard. A speedy pass came with the tour booking so we were able to enter the grounds through a special gate and not have to sit in a line of cars. The lights were enjoyable and the fact that we could bring snacks was a godsend. After the driven tour, we were able to have the experience of entering the Pagoda and seeing the lights/indy skyline from the 8th floor. While Todd stayed with the buses, Andy joined us and was available to take pictures and show us where the non busy bathrooms were. (GODSEND). All in all, I would highly recommend the Indy Brew Bus for a unique gathering. Andy mentioned that the tours usually include 1 Large Brewery as well as a Smaller (Lesser Known) Brewery to show differences. Since our pick up was on the Northwest Side, the breweries were chosen based on our location. I can't thank Andy and Todd for making our party a great success. They were friendly, knowledgeable and just plain awesome. You guys are the best!
