I just met the woman. She exudes joy and you can tell she has poured her heart and soul into her business. Trust me. The pictures of this place do not do it justice. It's BEAUTIFUL! Amberly was my nail tech. This woman knows her stuff! I felt so comfortable in her knowledge as a nail tech. She knew about the brand and how to use it and even gave me tips! I had to wait while the owner vented about personal issues, and there was alcohol out during the appointment being drunk from the bottle which was completely inappropriate. Pricing was not displayed or explained, and it felt like the total was made up at checkout. The environment was loud, the service took too long, and the overall attitude was poor. My experience left room for amazing growth in professionalism and transparency. I just got into the area and wanted to support an American black owned business. Placed a phone call around 1300. Call was sent to voicemail and they texted a lovely introduction. No big deal as this is how Central America and Asia operate. So it wasn't a red flag at the time. Set up at appointment for 1430. And 11 minutes later I received a text pushing me back to 1500. It was a lovely day. I'm new to the area. So I walked the 47 minutes! Upon my arrival at 1445, the owner or lead technician (the first chair person) came to the waiting area to say they didn't have time and would need to cancel my appointment that was to begin in 15 minutes. No reason was provided. There was no one waiting in person nor on the guest list. (Yes, there's a whole FBI information form they want you to fill out upon arrival.) The salon was advertised to close at 7pm. This was a Friday. She gracefully accepted my concern that I'd just walked here and let me keep my appointment. Was sat with Tracey Leigh who was bubbly and displayed product awareness and professional-level observation re my nail bed. During our initial Tech-Client chit chat, she was being interrupted by First Chair to answer questions about me. When I queried if there was still a problem with the time, I was met with an out-of-the-blue nasty tone and glare. Strike Two. It turns out that there is an expectation to pay BEFORE services are rendered. And no, it's not posted in a location anyone would see prior to booking or signing in. (Upon leaving, because I was looking for it, I did see a piece of paper taped low to a wall that faced anyone LEAVING the space.) Strike Three came with the prices. To be clear, the prices are not posted. So the First Chair was barking at the Receptionist trying to figure out the price to charge. This was so disruptive to the peaceful environment in here. It also gave the optics that prices change willy-nilly. And when I was ready to tap my phone (yes, they take Apple Pay) and was told the price for my basic service, I decided to excuse myself from that establishment. $50 basic pedicure, no polish $30 basic manicure, no polish $ 9 taxes and credit card fees No, ma'am. This is not a 4-5 star resort. This is not even a nice neighborhood. Also, the prepay and convenience fee charges always hurt the Tech's tip. Not a great business model for retention. I can't give this a single star out of spite, though, because the facility and nail supplies were very clean. The nail art I was seeing on the other customers was lovely. Everyone but the First Chair was pleasant and service-forward. To get an additional idea of the vibe of this salon, there was another piece of paper (seriously, like in a work break room. It wasn't framed etc) taped below the barely-noticeable pre-pay sign that also stated that there is a $25 fee for taking a selfie in any of their decorative areas. You know, I'll never knock someone's hustle. Ever. But I *will* require that your Customer Service equates to your expectation of fees. read more

I made an appointment via online with the owner. I make appointments because I absolutely hate waiting long period of time for hair and nail service. I arrived on time due to the amount of rules that penalize the customer if you are late. I waited about 20 minutes before the owner asked if I would like water. While I appreciate the afterthought, I was already slightly irritated. I hate the wait in service related business when timelines is so important to their business. I ended up leaving at exactly 30 minutes. I told then to have a good day and left. I wasn't rude or loud, my patience was thin and it wasn't worth saying anything to the owner who my appointment was with, because I wasn't going to stay or come back. I share my experience so others can be aware if they suffer with anxiety about waiting around for nail services. The professionalism and customer service could be improved. read more

The owner Mimi is rude. I went for a short set pink nude with white French tips. While she was doing my nails, the color she was about to use for the nude on the bottle looked darker than I expected. So, I said oh no, I think that's the wrong color from what I showed in the picture. It seems to be brighter. In no way was I rude about it, I just didn't want her to start and then have to remove it because I didn't like that shade of pink. She became very snappy and got loud with me and said "IM the nail tech! Let me do my job... I know what I'm doing." She then showed me the color and the color wasn't as bright as it appeared to be on the bottle and I was fine with it that color. However, the rudeness and loudness was very much uncalled for and I definitely have not been back since because of the disrespectful tone and attitude at that moment. In addition, her and another worker was laughing and cursing and drinking their wine during my service. She popped open a bottle of wine she said was "pretty" because of the glass it came in but it turned out to be nasty.. so she told the girl to offer it to one of the customers in the back. .
